MG Zeta Ver2 has been out for a few weeks now and for those of you still considering, have a butchers hook at these scans taken from this months Hobby Japan. I am not particularly keen on the default color scheme of Zeta and would love to see it in different colors. As usual, the Ver 2 comes with the "new technology" meaning that its as articulate it gets for a 1/100 scale model.
And for those who are still wondering why I go on about "mince pies" and dont know what a "butchers hook" is then look it up in this dictionary.

This looks very good however I have a few concerns. From the looks of things the floppyness of the Ver. 1 Zeta has been fixed. Thats the good thing. Now for my concern: When the Mk II Ver. 2 came out they reveled in showing us images of the enhanced poseability of it. But with the Zeta Ver. 2 I have yet to see much in means of poseability...my guess is that they are afraid to show pictures because there might be a lack of poseability for this thing...I cant read Japanese so is there anywhere on there that mentions its poseability Danny?

In regards to articulation, I think Zeta's design is permanently defective to a certain extent.

You may go to www.gunplablog.com or www.dalong.net to check it out. For the second link, now I can't read Korean but there's some English and lots of pictures.

Since this is a transformable MS, you can't expect the same level of articulation of the non-transformable ones like MK II, but from what I saw the Z v2 pretty similar to MG Z Plus, which is quite articulate, and stable because of its stiff joints (I have the red one myself).

BTW I have preordered one from HLJ and it should arrive this week or next hehehe. :p

I dont care for poseability...as long as the kit looks GOOD. And the original 1996 MG Zeta looked awesome. This one looks pretty good too, but IMHO, the first one had a better katoki-redesign...

After you paint the model, you dont mess that much around with it, so why is poseability such an issue ? My original Zeta looks better than this one...:(. They should have leaved the 1996 redesign intact, with the added poseability.

This one looks like the one from the show (wich means...the Katoki redesign looked a heck of a lot better)

But oh well...I guess people can "play" with it now...

Looks good, but transformability and poseability don't belong together in the same equation.

personally I would stick w/ the tired and true way of kitbashing the original zeta MG w/ the zeta plus which yeilds the true ver.ka look. As for the posibility, w/ the size of master grade boxes these days they should just make you build two separte models the wave rider and the zeta it would certainly make the box size worth it cause they are so friggen HUGE!

hopefully this ver.2.0 would come up with new and refined engineering based on the pg zeta and MG zplus variants (locking tabs for the wings and legs, higher level of durability in critical stress areas, etc).

but still, transformable kits arent meant to be transformed - its best to leave the kit static in one mode or the other as something will definitely break after a few repeated transformations. my advice: get two of it and have each one in its own respective form - its safer that way.

i was having a dilema a few days ago, the mk II 2.0 or the zeta 2.0, ive decided on the mk II, it looks like great value for money and the hangar/ stand that you get with it looks awesome!

sorry buddy but u choose wrong . I just got both models a week ago and I am kinda dissapointed with MK-II ver.2 the legs have so much in them that they are floppy and the model has trouble standing in certain poses. Now the new zeta is the true winner . Its perfectly stable and in transformation everything locks in place perfectly. He can even do the kneeling pose

(with that nice catapult) it's good enough (btw, is bandai going to re-release a MG nu gundam? since i cannot find this model kit anymore >_>)
