"we dont live forever and dont know when we are going to die (unless you just ordered a Candy Girl online - you *will* die when it arrives because your wife will beat you to death)" - So does this mean you've ordered one?? :P Silliness aside, this post has a very deep meaning to it and I am again inspired by your words - I hope I can one day achieve this drive you have found for yourself, and I hope that you are successful in reaching your destination. My martial arts teacher talks about much of the same stuff (the journey, the reasons and the destination) and he is one of the people whom I most greatly respect. Happy New Year everyone!!! Make '06 as great and fufilling year!

Very inspiring and a wake up call to all those people who are running around in circles in life. Thanks Danny, your words are trully inspiring. Thanks for giving us advice on how we can deal with our reality and life. To you Danny, hip hip hurray!

I'll try to keep it concise. Thank you, Danny. When I get there. I'll Thank you personally if i have the chance. Happy 2006~` And ty again on giving me the advice to use Super glue on my Strike. *wink wink

Thank you Danny, very inspiring words. Ever since I spotted your site and read up on the things you did, you actually inspired me to become what I really wanted to be. And with your "Destination" speech, it even fuels it making me want to try harder for it. I may be still in High School but I'll try harder to get to where I want to be. I'll still hate Mondays until the day I get out of High School, and from there, everyday will be harsh so I can never really hate Mondays but it'll be fun because I know what'll happen in the end after I worked my hardest to make it to that Destination. And as it was stated before; did you buy a Candy Girl? Or do you know a person who ordered one and now is gonna get it? =P

a very touching and inspiring post, hopefully I can find a way to apply this in my life and someday be able to go to Japan or at least have the same success as you Danny! Great way to start the New Year! Happy New Year everybody!

Happy new year, Danny. Nice setup, with your Gundam site that is. I’m not into anime, except for wacky stuff like Crayon Shinchan, but I like reading about your Tokyo lifestyle and I'm a fan of your Storm Trooper adventures. I found your inspiration speech very interesting and want your opinion on dealing with modern day racism in the work place. My question is this: do you stay in an unhealthy work environement where it’s just a no-win situation? Or would you stop banging your head against the brick wall and move on to find a work place that’ll pay you full credit for your hard work and contributions? My answer is pretty obvious, but what’s your take? With your kind of tenacity and drive, what would your instinct tell you... stick to your guns to prove yourself to those people? Thank You

Ever since a youngish age I wanted to be a graphic designer or at least a designer of some sort. I am actually lucky enough to be in the job I enjoy. However I really wish had spent more time on getting to the other destinations. I guess that is why I love to read your blog and take inspiration from it. Anyways, I wish you and your wife an excellent 2006 and that you travel closer to your destinations.

yes, totally completely agreed with u that money is a sad fact of life in ur other post. would say that in 99% of instances, money makes the difference. depending on individual, the same degree of satisfaction derived can be achieved at different levels of monetary expense. rather inspired by ur words, hope that i might just get somewhere somehow in the direction of my destination in time to come.

Hello Danny, happy new year mate! couldn't agree more with you take on "destination"!! im sure you'll get there very soon :D

Great article, it isn't easy staying focused. If the journey you take is long one, then the journey is more important then the destination. Rather have a low paying job I enjoy then a high paying job I loathe.

great article, I guess I should start thinking about my destination... should've done that years ago, duh!

i think u r setting urself as a role model for a lot to follow, not necessarily the method or exact path, but the attitude. keep it going, that air of defiance of yours is courageous and admirable! the world needs u kind of ppl.

Its great to see you passing on advice that has proven to be successful in yourself. It's even nicer to see you wanting others to succeed. If you're that nice, I think you're allowed to flaunt ^_^

Sorry to poste on a old topic..but still new. My mondays is 50/50 like. Its computer programing for webdesign ect. gonna be learning PHP soon. I get interested in it but the morning is a lecture so it can get boring after a while since the lecturer will start repeating the same line several times. From how I see the world is almost a same path we all choose. A same chain yet different stories. We all learn and use that knowledge to help aid us through future jobs or interest in life. Yes, we all end on a same chain, Death. Sometimes, we try to use our new knowledge to get to our goals on the chain we are on but fail to do due to conflicts we encounter. I'm studying Software Systems for Arts and Media and it had some of my interest subjects in it. I do not know where my route on the chain will be like, but choosing this course and knowing what path it opens for me is still a mysty answer. Things like programing is a bonus material to learn so i have to make use of it. Money is the main role in this world. without it we will fall apart. In this chain to final destination is the same chain we all in but different routse within. I dunno what i'm ranting about but I know that if I have a open route I will get to my final chain. I have no plans for the future yet. Working for a films, web designing, freelance is a misty option at the moment. I may even apply to Danny's own company too one day. =P I agree with ou Danny. Must get my head into 1st gear look ahead!

I want to thank you greatly. this has been the most motivating writing I've ever read. It has made me reflect upon my life more than ever (pretty sad one 0_o) and made my route clearer. The "do it now" is what made me wake up. I thank you :D

danny i am now 15 years of age. since i was ten i realized what if there isn't a "God". is death a forever of nothing. it scared me but i am peace now and am ready for watever comes. this post has put in a new direction and i will find my purpose. i thank you for helping mr towards my "destination" as it is to find a destination. i dont want it to sound like im stalking you but i would eventually hope to meet you in this life. thanks danny:)

I don't have much to add beyond a "Me, too." agreement post. I've felt a similar way since highschool, however, I only began seriously working towards my "destination" a few years ago, after I finished college. Anyhoo, while I'm sure you won't need it, good luck in your endeavors. It's nice to see like-minded people out there.
I'll have to agree, too. Destination is like our gasoline, I experienced a destination-less life once when I was studying in Sydney. Everyday was so dry, boring, meaningless.. It was the exact opposite of my high school days when I had destination (to excel in math exams that is). The reason why I lost destination was because studying in Australia was never my choice, it was enforced by my parents.. But now I have destination again: to live, work and play in Japan, and eventually, naturalize. Hahah..
But hey, I don't want to be rude but, you don't seem to emphasize on keeping good health? I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree with that, as being healthy is, in my opinion, more important than having lots of money (being healthy is the most important thing in my life, in fact).
