#v#flv_akiba.jpg#v# For those of you who keep hearing "Akihabara" or "Akiba" - you know that its a place name for "Geek Heaven" and its written on the top of your do's list for when you come to Tokyo. I thought I would show you a bit more of Akiba in this footage that I took last year. You have already seen some of Akiba in one of my previous clips but this one doesn't have a Stormtrooper getting in the way.

The background music is Electric Light Orchestra's "TWILIGHT" which was also the Opening them tune to a Japanese Drama callled **Densha Otoko,Densha Otoko**. I guess just about the whole of Japan watched that drama - t'was really really funny.

I remember working throughout the year at nights after classes at university from about 6pm till 11pm. I managed to save enough for a ticket to Japan once a year. I had about 800 pounds (ish) left over for spending money. There was one time in particular when I went to Akiba the day after I arrived in Japan and remember blowing nearly all of my spending money on that second day! So if you are going to Akiba, make sure you either handcuff yourself or leave a good amount of money back at the hotel/friends place because you *will* want to buy tons and tons of stuff and end up totally and utterly skint.

Another great video clip. I like that people seem to be oblivious to your recording everything. For example, the Inokashira Line (another great one). Since I don't know when (if ever) I'll get to Japan, these videos are a great way to see it.

Lovely, more clips from Japan. Yesterday I saw the movie “Lost in Translation” with Bill Murray. Once again. There are great scenes of Tokyo in that movie, the city life in Tokyo. A short scene takes place at Shibuya.

Nice video :D When I was there, it was on the first days of my trip, so I didn't buy too much, only some trading figures :p We finished the trip at Osaka, where there is the Den Den town district, this is kind of the Akiba of Osaka. I spend my last bucks there, in one afternoon, my eyes were rolling everywhere, I was like a child LOL

And Densha Otoko is a great drama, really funny, and more is you're an otaku too :D

And the music is really good :D

What I like about Akiba is that on a Sunday, the main road is closed off to cars which means you can lye in the road, do cart wheels or have lunch without being run over.
