Man ol' man where has time gone? I remember all this from 2008. Though i wish i was there since the begining. In 2000 i was 17 years of age and still a high school student. I can't quite figure out when i started reading on Dannychoo.com but i'm sure it was around the time i registered.
Merry New Year, To danny and all those on DC.com Nice gallery and moments. will still be a loyal reader and contributer for years to come!
Started reading in the latter half of the year and have been hooked ever since. Hope everything goes well for you in 2009 Danny!
The same here..
me too!
me too!
The evolution of Dannychoo.com in 2008... So many major changes... I will be expecting more in 2009!!!!!! 2008 was a great year...it's also the year I started blogging and I feel it's the year that a lot of blogs started popping up!!!!!! Still....I love reading your SAFS and I want to see more of those in the future!!!
I first came here after I saw CNN's news coverage. The thought of someone close to where I am stationed going out into crowded Shibuya and on trains in a Stormtrooper suit, had to see what that was all about. The large community from around the world with similar interests is what keeps me going back as well as the informative articles about where I am stationed (or do port visits to). Look forward to 2009! Also, Saber almost looks like a real person in that pic. ^_^
The old gateway UI is so nostalgic - brought to mind my first few frantic weeks of DC-surfing as I explored the site. ^^ Am plenty used to the current one now, but will be looking forward to the new one. There's a couple of things here and there that bug me. This...really was a landmark year. I remember all of this stuff, but I can scarcely believe that only a year has gone by. A lot of what we know as DC has been around for only a year. You neglected to mention the Member News uploader around April though - in my opinion, that's a pretty big addition/landmark for DC.com
3 tall walls of SAFs =3 I just cant get enough of the Foxkeh plushie >.< Happy New Year to Danny and the rest of the readers^^
2008 was a blast. Looking forward to what comes around here in 2009. Will also keep up "The Scenarios" for as long as I can... ^^ See you in Hawaii, sometime. Happy New Year, Danny! ^_^
are you moved tenrou?
Not until April... ^_^
Happy New Year all DC.com readers May 2009 be a great year for all of us
I've been around for nearly 2 years now, and these 2 years have meant a lot to me in terms of my netizenship maturity and Internet learnings. Dannychoo.com has contributed a lot to that.
Hmm... I remember all these highlights vividly throughout 2008. I must be here too much, but always glad to take part in the ride. I am everywhere, and I am no where. I'm Fatman. What? No "luv you all". Yuk yuk yuk ^^;
"...I am everywhere, and I am no where. I'm Fatman." We need to get you some personal theme music FatB.
Fatmouse.
I started DC around this time last year. It's really weird to read about all the things that happened, it all seemed like it happened last week. It looked like a really great year for you Danny, hope 2009 will be even better!
I seem to recall you saying at some point you might put up video from your talks - was wondering if this is still forthcoming. It's been a great year and I'm proud to say you've helped me grow and press forward through some tough times this year. Not to mention never failing to entertain.
2008 was indeed a splendid year. Very productive. Very creative. Very exciting. Here's to hope that every year can be just as great :D. While I still prefer the older UI over this new one due to easier accessibility to other pages, the new UI is refreshing to look at and ain't so bad once I got used to it (like all new things) ^^. And wow, Danny... your 2009 todo list will really turn dc.com into a full blown world of its own! ^o^
Started latter half of 2008 and ever since i've been enjoying my stay here. Wow ticket to TOKYO!!! If that really happens it's going to be an all cards on the table match here. Guess a lot has really happened. I have a good view of it since i started browsing DC from the old post regarding Japanese stuff when i googled something regarding japan. ANyways Happy New Year to all ^^
A rough and tumble 2008 easing into a surprising and eventful 2009! Possibly a surprise introduction for the Suenaga sisters? A cute cousin drops by to make a trio of moe?! Time will only tell.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!! my time flies... i still remember this time last year... 2008 was a wild ride, but 2009 will be even crazier =D
Joined dannychoo.com in august 2008. In just a blink of an eye, it's 2009. Don't really post a lot due to my English, as i am used to using Chinese for most occasions. I love anime and stuff since 5 years ago. However, collecting figurines only started in 2008 when i work for money to spend for my hobby. 2008 is a major year for me. I entered my first year of tertiary education, worked as a tutor, started to learn Japanese, have new hobbies, joined dannychoo.com's big family etc. A reason for me to really visit dannychoo.com everyday is that Danny's articles really inspire me. I ever thought of giving up learning Japanese, but one of your articles motivated me to continue. I love your inspirational articles, keep them coming in. =D *continues to envy the many towers of SAFs*
X_X!! Qoute "I entered my first year of tertiary education" What institute? im also still in my 1st year. (im guessing its JC though)
i was luring in early 2008 and decided to join only in the latter 1/2 of 2008. 2009 will be a fast year! The evolution of DC.com is awesome! hope that there will be moar coming from you Danny! Thank you for your time in writing all those articles sharing your life with us and of course the giveaways! (i din get anything though =( ) Finally got permission to post articles on 01/01/08!! Missed Danny when he was in singapore X_X (be sure to come back ya!) ^_^ Hope 2009 will be a nice year for all of you!
The chronicle of Danny Choo in 2008, you had opened many of your readers' eyes (optical eyes) & hearts by doing what you do best & passionate about. We'll continue to stay with you & support your achivement (^_^) Unlimited SAFS Works! Looking very forward to the new feature in DC.com ^_^b Dannychoo.com will definitely getting greater & better for the years to come.
The past half year has been quite fun! Will be reading for years to com!
WOW so much things has happened on this year ^^ Oh! Next destination is Canada ^^, can't wait until then xD
Being visiting this site since the early 2008 but only decided to join the community here in the latter half and ever since I did, I've been enjoying it! I can't say the exact amount I visit dannychoo.com per day. Have a good 2009 everyone!
It's nice looking back on all the great things that's happened here on DC. It was a great 2008 and I hope 2009 is even more amazing! Here's to a good year to you, Danny, and to all of us~
That an incredible write-up Danny, amazing how many things you've accomplished seeing them all together like so. Not to mention there are some things you haven't mentioned, the list should be longer really. Congrats on an amazing and productive 2008, I wish you the same for 2009 and much more x3 Hope some day soon I'll be able to post something along the lines of this article too =D Btw, when do you plan on adding Australia to your travel list? xD;
Great post, Danny. :D It's great to see how far you've come in life- it's really amazing! I'm going to have to order "Art of the Start" from Amazon soon. (It wasn't at my local book store. ._.;)
2008 was the year I stumbled across this site while looking for information about living in Japan, as I got interested in the language and culture enough to really want to do research. I came here with my love for all things Japanese and lurked frequently for a while. I finally joined halfway through the year and started becoming slightly active here, though I'm still a bit shy on actual posting. It was also the year I bought my first figure and starting my current hobby of collecting figures, especially figmas. I ended the year by getting my first nendoroid and now in 2009 I can only imagine what new things await me. Thanks to this site I've become a blogger and I've started to open up more to the world. It was a great ride Danny, hopefully we can all share many more years ^^
you've had some great success in 2008, and here's to many more great things to come in 2009. happy new year btw that first night shot of the gate thing (not sure what it's called) is very awesome.
I wanted to do one for my blog too, but it got too hard to remember things that happened, so I gave up. xD
I remember reading about everything from this post! Time flies by so fast. I can't wait to see all the new developments coming in 2009. p.s. What are house visits? O.o
Started lurking here in early 2008. How time flies...
CANADA????? Come to Vancouver! XD
Time really does go by too quickly... I remember back to the polygon flash header days and Danny started talking about many of the things he has given us today. It is always fun being here and having lots of good laughs with all of you. The year is off to a slow start so far for me. I have a lot of personal plans for this year... Like a lot of you, I'm eager to finish classes and get to Japan!
Nice retrospective, Danny. Amazing what a person can do in the span of a year when they're focused. Looking forward to cashing in some FF miles for a first class ticket to Tokyo this year (perhaps).
Ah, 2008...good times...coming here has become a daily ritual as time passed...here's to more great things in 2009!
>Speaking of giveaways, 2009 was when I started to receive a constant flow of SAFS... Ya mean 2008? ^^ And I must agree on Queens Gate Alice. Best figure of the year (which I'm still struggling to find)
Thanks for correction ^^;
Let me get that Firefox Plushie pretty please. =) May your success continue to grow.
Happy new year folks. I came in around the CNN article. And what have I been spending time on the internet for? Don't mind windows, just screw IE. Guys have fun now.
those are some amazing achievements you have got there Danny i only wish that i had things to look back on ;_; TIME TO MAKE THE BEST OF 09!
It's been one heck of a year Danny. Started reading the site around the end of 2007 and been checking up on it almost daily. I don't post as much, but I'm still connected. Can't wait to see what comes out in 2009.
wow, i dun usually post arond here, but looking at how far u've come inspires me. many small steps taken to acheive what u r now
Been reading DC.com for a while now and I must say that I'm really enjoying it. Looking forward to what DC has in stored for us. Another year of fun moments here. ^_^
Congrats on a big and successful 2008, Danny! Best of luck and from the sound of things, a even bigger 2009 for you and your business. Been really great as a member here, get to read some really cool stuff that I've got a lot of interest in and with the member news and your own news and feature articles, dc.com have provided me a lot of entertainment for 2008.
Great wrap up of an amazing year Danny, hope 2009 is just as good for you mate.
Wow I think I completely missed the first half of 2008. I registered before and planned on reading a lot, but due to World of Warcraft I couldn't get involved in anything else. These days though, it seems like I'm more involved in the DC community more XD DC, the new WoW ^^; What a year it's been... I've only started my blog in September, so I didn't know what I was doing before that lol. I guess my blog is pretty much just for journal purposes, so it's barely modified. I'd love to have someone tutor me on modifying it though ^^; Looking forward to see what kind of shenanigans you'll be into in 2009 ^_^
I remember the time when I was just a lurker around 2006-2007 I just registered around the earlier parts of 2008... He,he, more power to DC! Go,go Danny!!
2008 in dccom was GREAT! amazing! I'd joined in May but I was a just-looking-here-thing before. Really is great to be here, made some friends, read motivational articles are great, and see how you are big sucessful in this hard life. Cheers Danny!
I started to follow your website only within the past few months, but I can't help but jaw drop in awe of all the great things done here. You've really done a lot to bring us what it is like to be living in Japan, as well as sharing the various aspects of the otaku-culture. It'd be really interesting for you kind of do a promotional thing, given the speeches you have given. For example, interviews... to get deeper into the otaku psyche? Perhaps a project similar to the MMORPG project (was it called daedelus or something?) which explores the various statistical aspects of the culture-- something similar to all the polls you give, but more detailed! Anyway, great year!
Thinking back on 2008, I started doing a lot of new stuff, and found motivation to pick up the pace with my life. It has been tough, and a steep learning curve in many respects. I am just glad to have coped and grown that whole lot more, even though I am still dealing now with the real troubles in my life which I have only just started to address. I hope to get there sooner rather than later. I have gratitude also to Danny and this wonderful community in helping me with my improvement, thanks to the motivational posts by danny, and the awesome member news I read which brighten up my day, every day. My favourite Figure was Super Soniko by the way. ^__^
While I started reading earlier, I didn't actually register till much later.
I hope 2009 will be a great year for u,Danny ! CHEER !
Wow, what a very successful year! That is so amazing that you can accomplish so much in such a short time period. Although it's main purpose was probably not meant to inspire, this article has inspired me a lot. ^^ Will work very hard this year :3
Heyyy, I thought u were gonna "take it easy" this year... But I am partly surprised that he didn't mention u as DC idol, hmmmmm. ^_^
あけまして おめでとう ございます、 と 2009年も よろしく おねがいします!! Also Happy New Year to everyone who visits dannychoo.com and hope everything you wish can happen in 2009 as well :)
Although I haven't been active until the past couple of months, I've actually been a long time lurker of DC. I didn't realize that DC.com and the Tokyo Stormtrooper segments were one and the same until it actually clicked ^^; Congratulations on all of your accomplishments. Sky's the limit! It's also a nice feeling to be part of a group of people with similar interests, whether they're video games, figures, gunpla, anime, otaku culture, or whatever it may be. May 2009 be an even more prosperous year than the last.
みんな、明けましておめでとうございます! Been DC.com reader for quite a while although I didn't post comment that much but I kept up-to-date with new articles/posts Congratulations on your 2008 accomplishments and may this new year 2009 is another great year for you! And for all DC.com community, of course! =)
2008 was a great year for us! I enjoy reading your entry and learn quite a lot thank to you. I'm looking forward for 2009 to see what have you install for us reader at DannyChoo.com.
o boy...time sure does fly..
2008 was a great year for us! I enjoy reading your entry and learn quite a lot thank to you. I'm looking forward for 2009 to see what have you install for us reader at DannyChoo.com.
Happy new year to everyone! I've been here since 2007 or so, but I didn't post a comment, just lurking.^^ I plan to comment from now on.
Woah! 2008 is already over. Time sure does fly so fast these days. I registered in DC this June but it feels like I've been here way longer! Thanks for everything Mr Danny; for the figure reviews, for the tips in living in Japan, for sharing your life experiences and many more! x_x
Hi Danny, your resolution list for this year is impressive. I wish you good luck and hope that all that you have wished will come true in this year. I'm here since the end of 2007, I'm not a post addict fan so you probably don't see me here so much like the other people but it's a great place where I can read news about my fav. hobby and meet some new people. Happy New Year all !!!
Started reading few months before register.. so almost 2 years already? o_O Anyways Happy New Year everyone, let's make another great year out of this one :)
no plans for wing zero custom in 2009? ^^;
Wanted to make some of it today ^^;
woah i can't believe how fast time has flown. i remembered back then coming to this site time to time from the animeblogger antenna in 2007 and being very intrigued by danny, it was a while later, in fact a few months later that i became a regular member and discovered more of the man behind the site. also *stares at resolution list should i throw this out the window or something?
Nice flashu backu Danny! :D Let's make 2009 and many more years an even better one! :D:D:D and Wooooo Canada ^O^! Keep up the great worku!
What a year for you! I feel sad that I came in after all that. ): But 2009 looks set to be a great year. I must say that Foxkeh is so adorable. ^^ Have a wonderful new year!
Wow..... I remember it all!! And more! It's so weird to think that much time has gone by....eeps... I don't know who's my favourite figure of 08... Maybe Nogizaka Haruka... Maybe Nono Nekomiya....so many new girlies.... Did I read that right? Tickets to Tokyo??? Thats another dream.... Auuuuu And that box of GoodSmile VIP figures....where on earth did they go? We didn't see them did we?
That's a happening 2008. Came across dannychoo.com the end of 2007 when I was searching for info about japan for my trip. Started visiting more often after the trip at the end of march. DC did help in changing my boring life and inspire me to start blogging, but still not very focus on what I want to blog (more like writing what's happening around me). Need to improve this year. Looking forward to DC in 2009. ^^
Was reading dannychoo.com on a regular basis around 6 months before I decided to register. Didn't join dc.com faster as I didn't have much time, except as to open it, read through and close it. But have read quite a lot of dc.com content also very much of the old articles, and yea, I like it. Especially as I plan myself to try get in the University of Tokyo. Would more appreciate articles about people living in Tokyo as that would also help to prepare of what I'll have to go through except the real estate agents and the drunk salary men, which have been described widely^^
Happy New Year Danny! A retrospective on the old year is always good to know you better and to improve. Im glad you liked it over here in Germany! Next Time come to Düsseldorf! We have the biggest Japanese Community in Europe after London and Paris^^ Nida is one of my favorite figures this year aswell. As for Alice im still waiting for her to arrive at my retailer :/
time really waits for no one ^^;
may 2009 be a good year for us all :D
lol i remember when i first found out about DC, was watching some plamoo animation (if u havent seen it u should check it out "http://au.youtube.com/user/plamoo"), and i remember seeing dannychoo as a related view. from there on i found about this site and been reading whenever i have some time. being from aus, i couldnt help notice at the kylie fascination, slightly freaked me out i must say. anyway im wishing dannychoo a very happy new year hoping that u achieve many great things this year.
I hear this site in 2007 w/ my otaku friends and i interested for some infos and some good source in other some new anime. I can't imagine that danny known around some people around the world. It is just great!!!
Happy New Year Sir! I've been reading since the days of the Flash banner (I think it was DC.com IV) with the flying hexagons. It's really amazing to see how you fame has skyrocketed over the years.
Danny what a great year 2008 you had i wish you'll have also a nice 2009 to share with us by the way, i can notice that you met the 2 women of my life: Kylie Minogue and Olivia from G4TV Olivia if you read this, i never stopped loving you !!!! cheers
First half of 2008 was great until the latter half when hedge funds go bust I can't purchase a loaf of bread anymore... 2009, better let me see the bottom of where this economical crisis is going...
the year seems to pass by so fast since i started coming here.good luck everyone
Nice article Danny! I really liked your pic with Kylie Minogue :P Happy new year everyone, I hope this one will be better for all of us.
I typed "foreigner in japan blog" into google and dannychoo.com came up. I clicked on the link and i was hooked. Its been months now and i can't believe i was living without this site for a while now. DC has been very inspirational to me. Hope biotech can advance so i can bookmark DC in my cortex when the psy-internet starts. You are right danny we need to stop making resolutions and just start doing stuff. Me i got off my arse and have started learning Python programming (i'm on Lists(advanced variables) already). I think programming is essetial for me as an artist so i can start designing my own tools and get into gamedevelopment. Happy New Year to all Dannychooers(chootakus!) and Otakus!!! Oh! and danny too :D.
So many things had happened...Really looking forward to a new year..
time does goes fast, huh? well i'm grateful for finding such a good website and thx to Danny to give us a little of Japan everyday to make our days better!!
Yo danny i think your awesome and the sites great as well. Keep up the good work man!!!! All the best for 2009
do some balcony figure shoot in 2009 for old time's sake ya? ^^;
I was thinking about those photos as well. Hopefully Danny will find time to go upstairs every so often.
Been meaning to but depends on the position of the sun which changes thought the year - not always available around 1- 3 pm.
Time flies fast huh.. Been visiting this site almost every night since January last year.. And is enjoying it even now xD Looking forward to what you'll have in store for us. This year is going to be great! ^_^
Seeing all those accomplishments listed one after another must make you feel good. It makes me feel good and it is not even my life. You've come a long way from those pictures in the 80s. I'm excited to see the new features incorporated also. This is my favorite website to visit without a doubt. The community is superior to any other, in terms of kindness and the info and ideas they share. Also, your work space has to be the coolest i have ever seen. The glass desk, tons of figures, plants, etc. It all combines for a perfect look. Keep up the good work Danny.
It was an awesome year indeed!! Me, started reading DC second half 2008 and havent stopped. I really think Danny has inspired and touched a lot of lives with DC.com, the photos, figures and trooper things...hehe Lets see how this 2009 will be!!
Yes, it would be nice to see material from Animax Asia. I'm sure most of us would find it interesting and would learn a lot. Also a good why does Danny do this and not this to the site learning experience for others.
Congratulations on amazing year Danny and best wishes for the years ahead. As for myself, I've been reading and visiting DannyChoo.com since sometime in mid-2007, but did not register until the beginning of 2008. Anyways, I look forward to the year ahead on DC.com and hope to be more involved in the DC community.
Uwa~! Even though I registered some time last year, I actually have seen this site for about 3 years? I think I got to know this site because of some old site. (The only active part of the site now these days is the forum, but I don't go there anymore. I rarely contact the owner though.) Eh heh heh. Here's to hoping that 2009 rocks harder than 2008. (2008 didn't do enough for me.)
Onwards to a new year! Congrats
Clearly remember when i start reading DC.com it was during summer 2007. Congrats fort the past year, made me realise that i didn't do all i wanted to do in 2008. Will correct this for sure in 2009, 2009 is my year.
I've tried to visit this site every day since I joined but that's impossible for me. But still I'm glad to have joined. I love reading your motivational articles and I hope you do more. Good luck with what you all want to do in the New Year to Danny and to everyone!
Looks like this year was a pretty busy year. What's the last picture from?~
Unpublished photo - taken in Shinjuku.
Wow i used to pop in and out for a few days. Before 2008 but then again my figu obsession didnt happen until late 2008. Which is when i actually paid more attention to this site. Its the best resource on anything regarding anime figures >_< Theres no substitutions. I've found a few other sites that do figure reviews but they cant hold a candle to mr. Choo. Great figure reviews and where are all these giveaways happening??!?! I'm feeling like im definitely out of the loop in that department.
Looks like a great year indeed only wish I had come upon this site a lot sooner. Ive been reading since june of last year so seems like i missed a lot =/ hopefully 2009 brings a lot more great stuff from you.
2008 is really the best year of my life, with me becoming an otaku (after meeting Saber) and heading off to university! I became a reader after I started blogging for a month, which would be the later half of the year. It looks like everyone is hyped for 2009 despite the depression in the world, Wee~
As I say in a post the oher day, 2008 was a good year for me, I have great experiences this year, specially the tree last months. Indded, looking the article and photos makes realizes the time pass very fast. I`m sure this 2009 will be also great, even more! Thanks for all you work, Danny!!
Well, I've been here all year, and all of it was great! Thanks for making such an interesting and dynamic site, Danny, and all the best in the year to come!
I've been a reader of DC before 2008 and finally joined after mid 2008. My first half of 2008 wasnt all that great until Danny started doing the motivational articles. It was at those moments and every motivational article he made that turned my life around into doing nothing in life to doing things and reaching my goals. And for that Danny i owe you my thanks. Your a great inspiration and a guide to all of those who want to better themselves and follow their own path in life. I personally dont want to be like you, but have similar success like yours. Succeeding in wanting to do the things i love which are computers and anime, to be able to share anime interests with other people which is the very core of japan otaku subculture. I hope that your success keep blossoming during and after 2009. ^_^
Ahh, this is so weird. I remember all these things. :D I started reading DC back in... mid 07. I never joined until latter 08, and I regret not joining earlier. :P Keep it up! I hope this year will be just as awesome. :P
I is being a pre-2008 reader. Just checked a little while ago, the earliest articles I can remember Danny posting are from August 2007. Knowing my memory, that means I've been here since June or July 2007. I don't post too much, though. I came here around the time I toyed around with learning Japanese. I do owe Danny much for his motivational articles. While toying with Japanese lead me to this site, this site lead me to actually studying it, and recently, making significant progress.
Such an intense year! I think one of my goals in life is having such a hard working but intense and satisfactory way of living >:3 Btw: You wanna visit Europe this year? If you choose Spain, I'll be waiting for you :3
Thanks all for the kind words! Ganbarimasu!
Happy New Years Danny! Just a question. When you take pictures do you work on them at all? like photoshop etc? or are they original shots? Cause each your pictures have really good color depth
I do tweak some of the photos because the original was dark. Prefer not to as it takes time. Mirai Gaia takes care of the resizing, rotating, watermarking, uploading, sending to flickr and generating of the html. I think there is an automated way for ImageMagick to alter exposure too - will look into.
I've been reading since early 2008, but I only actually joined in August.
Started around the beginning of June of 08, been logging on every day since ^_^
really a great year danny, i hope for you and for all the dc readers a great 2009 ^^
Been reading since early 2008 but have only joined recently. :3 This year has just been so packed~! I think back to things that seem years ago but only happened in the early part of 2008...!
Happy new year minna. Man i really need to get me one of those foxkehs. There cute hahaz.
Best Wishes to all Dc Pals! love the site, keep the good work in this new year !!! がんばって!!!
Happy New Year! Man, 2008 was an awesome year and I bet that 2009 will be better than the rest!
Wow, a lot has happened here. I may not have been around for very long (About a year or so.) but it's been an interesting ride. Here's to more fun in 2009!
Happy new year! Ive been around for about 2 years, and it was awesome seeing the progress you made in that time period, its quite inspiring ^ ^. I hope 2009 works out even better for you ^ ^
Wow, you sure look funny when you were a teenager. I'm going through that painful stage right now :'( Been reading dannychoo.com since November haha I saw a Konata figma and saw the URL on the packaging so I went there and it linked to your site:) Anyway, let's all make 2009 a better year :D
lol 2008 was a great year.. the year i discovered DC XD
this was a good read ~ coool seeing that you are progressing~ !
2008 was a good year for DC indeed :D. Hope 2009 brings more good stuffz. I have been a reader since mid 2007, but never did create an account until 2008.
What a good year it was 2008, i hope 2009 will be even better for you DC and all the other fans. Happy New Year to everyone.
Im glad I stumble onto your website cause it change my life alot. Can not wait for 2009 been a great year and hopefully better
Happy New Year! ^.^ Since like your success is always picking up and up every moment! Good luck and all the Best! ^.^
>In April, I announced Mirai-chans very own eroge Miracle Mirai by Nitro Plus - tentative release date is 16th February 2009. I'm getting that. for sure :D anyway, happy new year everyone !
Nice list of achievements for the year. Thought you were joking when you mentioned that you were going to build your next house last time... Planning to build your dream house from the ground up (literally)?
Yes - need to look for land first. Will write about building a house in japan soon.
Happy New Year. I wish you much luck and continued success in 2009. You have successfully kept my inner... interest in Japanese culture alive another year with your entertaining articles and great photowalks. Keep up the good work. Happy New Year to all the DC'ers.
Danny add one more to your list: Get back to gunpla!!! :P
I hope 2009 will be even more fruitful for you and everyone at DC.com. :) 2008 certainly has been crazy for me and I'm looking forward to 2009 being crazier -- in a good way.
I had watched your Youtube Trooper videos and I decided to check out your website here and I have been interested ever since. Hope you and everyone here has a happy and exciting 2009
You are quite the success story Danny, congrats!
I became a reader before 2008, but I became a registered, frequent reader in the Aug 2008. I can't remember when I first encountered Danny's site, but I always ran into the site during my searches. Your site is wonderful and Happy New Year. Regards
I hope you and your company have a successful 2009, Danny!
Ah you certainly had a great year! :D I'm looking forward to what 2009 brings as well...
That's pretty cool you were able to take a photo with Kylie. Although hello! project has handshaking events I don't think we would ever be able to put our arms around one of the girls! Or even get that close to them for that matter!
Reading this post feel just like the old days. Happy New Year to you Danny b(^^ )
you had a kickass year.....
Happy new year to everyone here! I'm sure everyone here will be anticipating to see more of Danny's works and updates on your blog as much as I do. Keep up the great work!
I started mid-2006, so I didn't exactly see what it was like back in Y2K... but man, it's certainly been a long time.
Omg! I loved the second vid. Storm Trooper! :D
May 2009 be an even greater than 2008 for you and the rest of the members! I became a member of dannychoo.com somewhere in the second half of 2007, but have been absent for almost whole 2008. ^^" Regarding your question about our most favortite figure release in 2008, mine is definetely Chua Churam from Alter. I'm actually surprised she's not in your list.
The first time I came here was to apply for that translating job. I had to stay after I saw all the articles about life in Tokyo and Japan in general.
Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy new year ^^
Looks like it's been a wonderful year for you Danny^^ Hope you will have a good 2009 aswell~ I started reading dc.com beginning 2008 but joined 5 months later... the biggest thing that kept me from posting was the huge amount of comments that were already made for a post, I thought my words didn't matter anymore^^; But I come here every day and am totally addicted to dc, so keep up the good work!
Good luck in the future Danny!! I had the pleasure of introducing your site to a good friend last night, and he was amazed at the amount of coverage you had on events that we aren't lucky enough to enjoy here in the states (wonfes, comiket, etc..) I think I speak for many of us here in assuming that 2009 will present many opportunities for you as a business owner. I personally have been driven to study Japanese language and invest in my college career more diligently due to your consistent additions in your articles relating to the job market and foreign study in Japan. Good luck in 2009!!
Good luck Danny! :D
Hope to read you a lot this year! And to go to Japan, too!!
If you go to Europe, I recommend visiting Rome. I've only been to London and a few citys in Italy but Rome was just amazing. There was so much food and even if it was 1 am there were shops open selling food and Gelato.
Danny is one cool guy.
There wasn't a 2009 option, so I chose latter half of 2008. I found this site while looking into starting a figure collection, I think I'm gonna be returning here a lot though, looks awesome. *whistle
Comense to read this page earlier this year so I have a very beginning of the year filled .... aver when they formed a wrist for Tucumán (arg) PS: I hope the vercion uncensored picture of ets http://www.flickr.com/photos/dannychoo/3158469116/sizes/o/
I discovered DC.com a few months ago from another Otaku blog I frequently visit. I must say it's a huge jump from reading just anime websites. ^^ I hope 2009 will be a better year, Danny!
Awesome! Great summary. I discovered this site from the dancing Storm Trooper stuff you did :) I didn't realize your site used to look like that O_o
