Merri Kurisumasu 2008

Festive seasons greetings comrades! or "Merri Kurusumasu" as one would say in the Rand of the Lising Sun. While the Japanese do "celebrate" Christmas, its mainly for the monetary spirit - most of the Christmas decorations will be taken down either tonight or tomorrow.

Dollfie Saber who we adopted recently has been getting into the festive mood too. Her hair is a bit messy as I haven't got brush for her yet ^^;
Saber removes her armor and relaxes in the lounge with a few new comrades - as you can see, she's not having a Ronery Christmas - how about you?

Back in the UK I would probably be watching Home Alone on TV for the 10th time while choosing stuff to eat from the kitchen table which would normally be filled with stuff from Tescos. Hmmm. Bit homesick now.

And what do the Japanese traditionally eat for Christmas? Chicken because Turkeys are not common here.

BTW, this photo in Wallpaper Pool.
Saber curiously wonders around the house. Probably wondering where her new clothes are.
Sabers gorgeous armor. More Saber unboxing pr0n and photos soon.
Christmas day in Japan is just like any other working day and we are in the office busy working away on Mirai Gaia features while listening to some festive internet radio - Smooth Jazz Tampa Bay.

But work is so much fun at Mirai Inc that it feels more like play - especially when Suddenly Acquired Figures, Gadgets, Dakimakura and 130,000 yen Dollfies suddenly appear on the doorstep - its like Christmas all year round ^^;

What cool/crap stuff you been buying/receiving? Its the thought that counts but hey - we all end up with useless stuff from time to time - like an oar for a boat that I don't have.
And for those wondering what Japanese Christmas cards look like.

Merri Kurisumasu everyone!

It would be difficult to tell that was a Christmas card if it wasn't for the snow. Christmas for me is about giving. I like to give gifts that are nothing that the receiver needs but wants very much. This is usually not cheap and as a result i wind up spending a lot at this time of year. It is worth it to see the reaction on their faces when they open their presents! Don't forget who's birthday were celebrating! Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas Danny-san and everyone!

Taking down your xmas decorations the night after xmas??? Nooooo I want them up as long as possible... or at least untill my mother gets them down... 12 days of christmas is usually the rule, I'm not sure if its 6 before and 6 after, but its usually a bit longer than that lol.
Gawd Saber is lovely... Those little hands...so dainty. And loving that tree btw, gives ideas for next year lol.
We'll be having turkey for xmas dinner. Usually is turkey, unless there are less people, thats when we get chicken. With leftover turkey we make 'moistmaker' sandwiches, ala ross in Friends lol. I will probably be watching the Friends xmas marathon sadly... after Doctor Who ofc. But Friends is always a winner. NOT the Holiday armadillo episode though...

Cards in japan are pretty. Cards in the UK have become increasingly invaded by cute puppies wearing hats...not even real hats, they're photoshopped on afterwards because it would be cruel to put a hat on a dog... I know it is, but think of what some people do to dogs... doggy hoodies, jumpes, shoes even..... A hat is barely anything lol.

This pic is soooo cute! http://www.flickr.com/photos/dannychoo/3134613874/sizes/o/ Her feet are adourable. I wants a dollfie very much... its just cruel flaunting your SAD around....lol Kawaii though.

Anyways, its 3 am in the UK, I think I really should go to bed now, after my late night John Cusack movie lol(Ice Harvest, based on a novel apparantly, my dads read it, but didnt realise he had till he listened to a bit of the dialogue... lol)

Wow... Major comment... anyways..... Merry Christmas all! And to all a goodnight!

Yep, national holiday over here :3, boxing day too.

This Christmas we weren't expecting many presents as we're saving up for travel, my grandma, mum and I are heading over to Chile early next year. My brother and I bought ourselves a Wii to make up for it xD;; [actually, we bought the Wii before we found out about the trip ^^;;].

I <3 your Christmas tree~ and Saber looks gorgeous too <3

Merry Christmas, Danny! All the best wishes for a fantastic Christmas! That Christmas tree behind Saber seems to suit you perfectly. I wouldn't have thought to put Nendoroids on the tree. I'll consider doing that next year when I have more of them.

Even though I know what they are, I'll still be excited to open up the figures I'm getting for Christmas. =^_^=

Yep, Christmas is the only holiday around here in L.A. where everything is closed, or at least most places that open close really early. Super Markets operate on original hours though.

Plus, public transportation is also free on Christmas. I'll take advantage of that since i plan to get KFC for the family tomorrow and enjoy the Lakers game. :p

Merry Christmas, Danny! Christmas is a national holiday in Canada, and given the weather lately, a good thing that it is! Hopefully a day off will allow all the delays and problems some time to iron themselves out.

I will be with family this Christmas, which is good. We'll be having free-range Turkey brought in from a local farm- the Co-op near us made some nice agreements so that it wouldn't cost too much.

As for presents, I expect they will be mostly practical, as that's what they are pretty much every year. That just means I'll spend my own money on things like Figma and the like.

And decorations- tradition has it that we put them up on the first week of Advent, then take them down on the week of the Epiphany, in early January.

Oh, and I really like that Christmas tree of yours!

Merry Christmas to you Danny, your wife, Hector, and Saber-chan too. You did buy Saber-chan a new outfit for Christmas, right? ^^

Of course a Merry Christmas to everyone here at DC.com. It has been lots of fun gang! I will be looking forward to having more with all of you in the new year to come!

Ah yes to be in Furorida right now. No doubt I would be sitting out on the veranda taking in a wonderful Furoroda winter evening, surfin' the the Internets on my laptop and enjoying a lot of Christmas cheer... Most likely listening to WSJT as I did most of time while living in Gainesville. Maybe it should be the official station of DC.com?

I'm spending Christmas with my parents. My wife is in Osaka and probably heading back to the office after eating lunch about now...

Christmas is unique here in my region. People started putting up the Christmas decorations and started playing Christmas jingles by early October and ends by end of January.

I had a ronery Christmas but not that ronery for I get to celebrate it with my family and friends ^___^

Wow, She's alot taller than I thought she'd be.. Pretty stunning there, Danny!

also, happy superfluous commercial holiday! My 'Christmas' consists of cooking with friends, then a date with World of Warcraft and some Chimay. Fantastic! :D

Merry Christmas to you Mr Danny!

I'm celebrating a "semi" ronery Christmas. I'm not really lonely as I celebrate it with my family and friends. Ronery coz I don't have a special someone to celebrate with T_T

I never gotten any useless stuff for Christmas before. My gifts are mostly clothes and I do get to wear them. I prefer money as gifts though x_x

Merry Christmas to all! メリークリスマス!

Over here the 25th of December is a national holiday when people are off from work. Depending on which day of the week Christmas day is companies may give their employees a day off on the 24th or 26th as well.
This year we're off since yesterday midday. Yay! ^^

The "Home Alone" on television for the 10th time sounds so familiar, you could never guess what they aired on television here last night... indeed, "Home Alone". ^^;;

With the economy not doing so well here people are more prudent in their expenditures. Also these past years some of us have been a bit let down by the overhyped 'spend spend spend' atmosphere surrounding Christmas so any exchanged gifts have become more modest and mostly we ask what the other person would like in advance.
We're more into getting together with family, friends and sharing nice home cooked meals.

Cute Saber Dolfie figure. Home Alone is pretty much a classic here at Christmas including Wallace and Gromit. Never gets boring. This year they don't seem to have Home Alone on terrestrial TV though. Shame.

I also agree they should sell that fox on the Firefox store, BTW =P

My Christmas presents were all kinda... ehehe, lame. Sorry!! I do appreciate that they at least bought me something ^^;
I got chocolate and spoons, knifes and forks >_< yeah. I'm not joking, last year I got plates! I'm only 18 why are they giving me these kind of things already?? :P haha.. well my relatives are all kinda poor and they don't really know what kind of stuff I like :P
and I ain't that girly so they could buy basic stuff like perfume or make-up either :P thank god they don't buy me stuff like that :P I prefer knifes and forks better ^^
oh and saber looks really cute in that photo where she sits o_o

oh! I almost forgot, we ended up playing guitar hero with our relatives in Christmas eve. It was kind of funny >_<

Took another glance at the first photo while checking for updates and just noticed the trooper helmet... Suddenly the tree looks like a pile of bodies that has a head on a pike stuck in the middle of it! What's inside that box Saber's carrying? D:

Merry Belated Christmas! I think Danny had the most greatest Xmas ever, how I'm so envious ^^; Since I can't go to Japan this winter, I believe it will be the most depressing Xmas ever for me(been going to Japan for past 2 years). Hopefully, I can go back to Japan next summer. Merry Xmas everyone :)

Belated Merry Christmas everyone and an advanced Happy New Year (at least for the most of us)

I've had a Merry Christmas with my family and friends, sung with our choir during masses and ate a lot of my mom's cooking. And I received amoderate amount of moolah and lots of shirts from my relatives and sister, my parents gave me a new pair of shoes, and I was able to buy a nendo haruhi for half price, and bought myself an MG RX-78 version 2.

So I guess, it was a materially and spiritually satisfying Christmas for me ^^
