Figma Mirai

We finally get to see what Figma Mirai Suenaga looks like. Now that the 3D work is done, all that needs to be done is to send the data to the factory in China ^^;
Great work by Ionized who spent 5 months making her in 3D Max. You can see more of Mirai at his burogu.
The project that Good Smile and I were working on that I mentioned before was actually the Good Smile site and unfortunately not a figure (yet).
I personally would prefer a Figma version of Mirai as I would play n pose her and carry her around with me. I hear that many readers don't like the joints though.

To be honest, when I first saw the Figma line, I wasn't a fan of the joints either until I started to acquire them. One really starts to appreciate how articulate they are. I guess owning Figma's has got me interested in the Dollfies.
So the question is which type of figure would you like to see Mirai in - Figma, Nendoroid or scale figure?

there is nothing wrong with figma yes the joins aren't all that they kind of spoil the general smoothness of the figure but being able to put in different positions and stances more than makes up for the "joints" i love Mirai as a figma and she would soon be in my possession!!! xD (btw i love the cat version to her ^_~)

Thats some pretty good CG work in 3D Studio max. At first i couldn't even tell whether i was looking at a real figma or 3D art. Sweet! ^^. For me though, I wouldn't really need a Mirai figure in one form or another.

I'm not particularly fond of the design for some reason. Seems too ordinary...
As for the possibility of this becoming an actual figure, i think I'll be the first one to say it here....

"Exclusive to Japan, Mirai figure!" No wait I can do better....

"Exclusive Online issued Mirai figure!"

If it was a figure or a nendroid I would get it 100%.

However, I really hate figmas because of their joints like you pointed out in your post, so I guess I'll pass on this one.

Still! awesome 3D studio max work.

I guess I'll remain waiting for a Mirai figure either if it's a figma or a scale figure I may get it, if I have to choose then I'll go for a figma, I'm really liking the curvaceous proportions on this one specially the legs, the face might need a little work, great work though.

A figma version is fine but I prefer scale figures more. But a nendoroid version is pretty cool. So... why not make all there versions? LOL XD

I hope all the figures have a nekomimi version! XP

Fantastic 3D modeling.

I suppose given Danny's inclination, a Figma would be most appropriate, but I'd definitely rather have a normal scale figure. I've certainly learned to appreciate articulation from my Revoltechs (not to mention Danny's Figma Theater), but even so I prefer not to have joints showing on non-mecha figures.

Voted Nendo... just to support.
But I'd like a Nendo and a Figma version.
This Figma version is looking very nice indeed!

About the joints... I also didn't like them 'till I saw the first Figma (Yuki).

It's just that Figmas have "acceptable" joints... and toying with them is so much fun!

Most Revoltechs, for instance, have joints that are too visible. It's like they distort the proportions of the character, which isn't nice at all.

But I did like Revoltech Yotsuba.

All in all, it all depends.

I was just saying that it's absurd that people don't like the figma joints. It's what makes them special. I absolutely love the idea of a figma and enjoy being able to pose them. ^^

IF this ends up being made and is an exclusive type, I hope it's at least not by country but exclusive to DC members or something. And now that I'm in a slightly better mood as opposed to earlier, I would cancel other pre-orders to buy these if they came. I would buy the Figma version over all other versions, and I love both of them.

Ah 3D Max, such a wonderful program. If only it wasn't so expensive then I'd have all the time in the world to work on my stuff. Unfortunately I have to settle for using the ones that they have at the college and I don't always have time to drive all the way down there just to use it. It was more convenient when I had a class to attend as well. I'd like nothing more that to be able to work freely on it, I can think of a lot of different models I'd like to create. The best part of the whole thing to is that my animation professor has a machine in his class that will actually carve out the 3D models. Perhaps I should just save up some money so that I can actually afford to buy it one day.

But enough of my ranting. ^^'

I really like the work done on that figure. As someone who has actually worked with 3D Max I can appreciate how much effort went into making that. I'd definitely want to get this figure. ^_^

Great work, she's so cute! Voted Figma though I'd love a Nendoroid as well, but the latter wins out slightly bc Figmas are a lot easier to pose (most Nendos tip over w/o the plastic stands, haha ^^;; ).

WANT! I was in Tokyo last week and purchased my first figure, a Yuki Nagato Figma, and it is great. A Mirai Figma would definitely be a welcome addition for expanding my set.

Ionized has awesome skills, I think GoodSmile needs to employ him ^^. The work makes me want to take another look at 3DSM myself.

Looking forward to the Mirai anime ^^.

Waw! Now this is a truly impressive 3D rendering by Ionized. Certainly had me fooled, I thought it was the real deal before reading the article!

Looks really great, the hard work Ionized put in surely pays off. I love how that Figma Mirai looks, the brunette version is also very cute and the nekomimi one is to die for! ^^

That's incredible! I was completely fooled and would have never guessed the images were only CG. Props to Ionized for sure! The attention to detail is simply jaw-dropping. I love the crispness of the skirt pleats and I'd be floored if any manufacturer could accomplish making that blue ribbon turn out as nicely as shown in the pictures (most figure ribbons that I've seen tend to turn out poorly made).

Normally, the obvious joints of Figma's are not appealing at all (especially for bare skin), but if the joints could be made to be as minimal as in the illustrations, I wouldn't mind owning a Mirai Figma. Normally Mirai is adorable as she is, but if the nekomimi version were available, I'd fork over the money to buy her in a heartbeat! =^_^=

I'm gonna be honest here. I am not a fan of Mirai. She reminds me of all the characters i dislike in anime. From Inoue in Bleach, to Shirley in Code Geass, Yoshida from Shana, Miyuki from Lucky Star, and Mikuru from Haruhi. I know you all think i'm crazy most likely. But i really get irritated by the giant breasted, uncoordinated, overly nice, typical characters.

The design looks good though. If it was made into a figma i'd buy it as it is the mascot to one of my favorite websites.

Wow, thats some mighty fine CG! It was only the splotchy shadows that gave it away for me. Vray has very long render times, so i can understand it you lowered the render quality a bit!
Excellent work though - looks very authentic, right down to the joints and all!

Hope you can get this made into a figma considering there is a figma of practically everything these days!

*cries* I thought it was real... ;~; I have no idea what I'd rather see though. A figma or nendoroid seems to fit Danny's mobile figure habits nicely, but then there's more articulation and cast-off ability with a scale figure... <.< Not that I'm going to peek under her clothes or anything (this is a lie), but detail could be nice. Though I am a much bigger fan of the figmas, because I like to play with action figures. ^^; Also a stop-motion video would also be possible with a figma, so those people would be happy as well. ^_^ I'm going to mark down figma, but in all honesty, I can't choose...

Scale figure or figma, I can't decide. Both would be nice in their own way. Figma means a lot of fun and theatrical performances. Scale figure means awesome details and a very nice figure (without joints) that one will not become bored looking at. Not that one would become bored looking at figma though.

It's far too much of a close call - the Mirai Figma looks so great and I'd certainly buy one, but because the Nendoroid votes are so low, I voted for the underdog. That said, I'd love to see a Nendoroid version as I'm a Nendoroid fan!

NICE!!! I would diffinately pick up one of these were to become available! I also was in the same boat as you about the figma joints until I went into the store and saw one in person! Totally changed my mind from that point on.

Figma AND Scale figure would be nice. How lovely tights for a figma! The skin is a too pale right now it looks creepy but I that' easy to fix.

The first face looks a little lifeless, on the other hand the meganekko an neko ones are win!

As you said what i dislike in figma are the joins, the figure looks like a toy instead of a collection object. I have a figma saber but still prefer PVC figures

Nendoroid would be best because it'll be cheaper and the people buying the figures would only be a small niche, even among anime otaku. People might buy just because it's cute and not expensive.

I'll have to add Mirai to my expanding wish list now. XD

Figma FTW! More affordable, and with the articulation, more bang for your buck. I'm willing to buy Figmas of characters I'm not familiar with, but I'm not willing to do the same with scaled figures due to the price.

That looks really good, too. The hands look a little odd, but otherwise it's fantastic.

I'd go for scaled figurine for most things (I don't like joints on girls) but mascots actually make more sense to me in nendoroid form. I already have a Miku and Rin nendoroid on my PC tower, Mirai would make a great addition!

It would be cool, too, if the accessories that came with her referenced Danny's interests. Stuff like a stormtrooper's blaster, the RX-78-2's shield, and a Mac laptop. ^_^

Of course, it would probably be an absolute pain to secure the rights for those kinds of accessories...... ^_^;
