Kuugen Tenko

I think I watched the first EP of Wagaya no Oinarisama but didn't get round to watching the rest. Do remember the girls in it being cute though.

And how about the back of the figure - most certainly inspired by Firefox?
This is Tenko Kuugen from the anime series. At the beginning, it was uncertain whether she was a "he" or a "she" - I'm just going to presume its a "she" for the rest of the review ^^;
Tenko retails for 8,800 yen and should be due out today or tomorrow by Freeing - distributed by Good Smile Company. A few more larger pics at Danny's Corner.
Still something that I'm researching is the Japanese otaku fetish for girls with animal ears and tails - has anybody done an essay on this or have any theories?
I personally didn't like it but Strike Witches convinced me otherwise. Sanya...

Speaking of Strike Witches, Sankaku Complex has a Strike Witches Roulette and Movie Posters for you to play/look at.

Update: Sankaku also has a gallery full of foxy ladies.
OP for Wagaya below. Should I be looking for the whole series that my comrades recorded?
Tenko comes with a wolf (fox?) part for those who prefer their girls to look like a beast.
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

Wagaya no Inarisama? I thought the anime was called Wagaya no Oinari-sama?

Anyway in the anime, Tenko Kuugen appears as both female and male... But she can only appear in one gender at a time... It would be freaky to see Oinari-sama in a female body with a dolphin ^^;...

About the figure, she looks a little different from the anime but it's pretty nonetheless... Mmm...

Nekomimi, or whatever other sort of mimi are indeed a potent source of cuteness.
Never looked into/seen any history on the origins of it though, unlike many other peculiar otaku fetishes. Hmmm...

strike Witches is a good example of animal-girl moeness though =)

Been watching the anime since it came out, but I really don't like how her(Kuu's in her female form. :P) hair becomes a weird rainbow. I like the hair in original better.
And her face doesn't really catch the expression of Kuugen's mischievous side. xD

I really enjoyed the series and this figure looks great but the price is a bit out of budget at the moment. :( As some of the previous posters had mention already, Kuu appears in both male and female form. I wonder if there'll be a male version of the this figure although Kuu's signature male look of jeans, shirt and baseball cap isn't really appealing.

The sculpt is pretty good, but the figure doesn't look like Tenko Kuugen at all. The Colors are way off and the face is totally different as well. The body shape seems to be off too, Kuugen looks a lot more athletic then this one.

I can recommend the series, it's light-hearted most of the time and fun to watch. And it's damn funny most of the time.

Its a great figure, but I dont think it conveys the haughty and mischievous demeanor that tenko normally has in the anime. The hair is very nice, and I am presuming its supposed to be the ring of five elements, of fire, water, wood, earth, blonde (void).

I am not a figure collector, doubt I will be unless the availability becomes better than month wait mail packages with insane postage. Thus my unprofessional opinion is that while this figure is beautiful, it captures Tenko only symbolically, rather than wholesomely represent the atmosphere and characterization of Tenko.

I really enjoyed "Wagaya No Oinari-sama", it was a terrific comedy.

Alas this figure of Kuu doesn't convince me, it doesn't really look like her a lot the way I would prefer or imagine a figure of her would... not the same atmosphere as in the series.

Love this figure. I love the hair, it just looks so pretty. Little pricey though, but I would so buy it if I had the extra cash. The other Kuu figure is.. kind of crappy. Would like to see a figure of Kuu in their male form, too. >3

I will agree it doesn't look like her in the anime, but I saw pictures from the manga before I knew about the anime. It looks more like the manga art style seen here: Clicky. Or atleast, that's the picture I think of when I see that figure.

I was a little upset when I saw Kuu as a reward for the recent give away that I missed. I've been so tied up doing other things I hadn't checked Danny Choo in a bit only to come back and see that. I would have loved to of tried to win, probably wouldn't have but I would have given it a shot. Of course I wouldn't of known Kuu was one of the prizes.

Nice figure. This figure comes from the light novel (cover of the 6th volume) and not the anime design. The anime was very fun.

Very nice photoshoot. The background fits her hair wonderfully...

But she looks a little sad, which doesn't really fit what I've seen of her...

The figure is nice, but I was wondering: is she sitting or supposed to be floating?

Wow! I don't know about everyone here, but that figure is just amazing.... Love the sculpt and the fusion of different colours and injected colours and dyes in the plastic. Great piece of work. Especially in the hair and fire. :)

The whole figure looks stunning! The beautiful transition between the transparent colours and the adorable fox ears, aswell as the worried look and the outfit all combine to make one great looking figure. If I ever see this, I'll probably buy it ^^ and maybe one for my friend.
