Never watched the show Kaibutsu Oujo (Princess Resurrection) but the more I look at Hime on my desk the higher I place watching the anime as a priority ^^;
Hime should be out today or tomorrow in Japan. You can see details at the Good Smile site and larger images at Danny's Corner.
Hime is 1/7 scale and priced at 7,200 yen.
Initially found it difficult to get decent pics due to the darkness of the dress but managed to get a few nice ones out of the 230 shots I took. I usually take 2 - 3 shots per angle while changing the AV value if need be.

A Figma Theater can take 2-3 hours to shoot while scale figures would take about 30 - 45 mins.
Used to take shots on the 3rd floor balcony but found that taking pics in front of the Apple Cinema display enables me to get more detail in the shots.
A few uploaded to the Wallpaper Pool.
Very detailed base. Speaking of bases, its interesting to see different manufacturers spending varying amounts of attention to detail on the base. My Needa, Rizfis, Char, and a few Max factory bases have much detail while Alter, Queens Blade/Gate, and my Ringo have very plain bases.

I'm guessing though that the more intricate bases contribute to the cost of the figure. Would you rather have a plain base+lower cost or cool base+higher cost?

I personally prefer figures that can stand without their base.
I wish I could make my own bases though - the Queens Blade ones are especially crap - especially Airi.
Back to the Hime figure. Lovely curves.
Figure Photograohy is the most dangerous part of my job - constantly slipping while taking photos due to limited vision.
From looking at some of the YouTube footage, I see that she also carries a chainsaw and a ball n chain with spikes in it - which would you rather be slapped in the face with?
And this is the servant android Flandre who comes included with Hime - larger pics at Good Smile.
The scissors are made of plastic and can just about cut through thin paper.
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

If u have the time, read the comic. Most people think the anime was slightly below average.
This series is also know as Kaibutsu Oujo or Monster Princess.
I tend to think of it as Tsukihime meets Hayate no Gokuto :x
The series figures are usually nice renditions.

The manga was much better. They changed the premise quite a lot in the anime. Hime makes Hiro drink her blood so that he can live again, whereas in the anime, it doesn't show blood whatsoever. I can't remember what they did in the anime, but I was disappointed in that change. I may give it another chance one day.

That might be a good idea to get into the series, but if you find yourself liking the premise, you shouldn't altogether neglect the anime.

The main differences, as previously mentioned, are the method Lilian/Hime uses to contract Blood Warriors (flame instead of blood), the absence of (or strict limit on, I remember there being some semblances of blood) the often excessive gore found in the manga, removal of some secondary characters, and rearrangement of the manga's events or arcs to better accommodate an ending (which was extremely well done for a manga that is still being serialized).

And the 2 bonus episodes featuring Flandre are made of win.

Flame of life. That's what they did in the anime instead of blood they had her give him a little flame from her fingertips. Since I watched the anime before I ever knew about the manga so I didn't see a problem with the flame thing.

pretty dangerous figure to have working scissors. ^^; although if they won't cut through anything else but thin paper. it'll make nice safety scissors for the kids. ^^

Those scissors wouldn't be good safety scissors for kids due to the pointy ends.

The anime was not as good as the manga.... in the manga Hime let her servant drink her blood instead of sending out some weird flame frm her finger (which the anime did so).

I also PO her and cant wait for arrival but personally i prefer her with the chainsaw more than the scissor.

I love the character design in the anime, but unfortunately the series itself is rather lackluster. Sometimes a great-looking character can carry a poor series all on its own, but in this case it's pretty so-so.
Lovely figure, though. I can see that despite sitting and drinking tea quite often, Hime still finds time to work those glutes.

I greatly enjoyed the anime, yet when I think about advising others to watch it, I probably would rate it as average at best. (I guess it's one of my guilty pleasures where I enjoy something even though I know I shouldn't be :p ). The character designs by Kuroda Kazuya are great (as are the manga originals), always like his work (Vandread, Sora no Iro Mizu no Iro, etc). Character personalities are all very likeable, even though the overall production values often seemed a bit low. The differences between the manga and anime (less blood, less of Reiri's panties) to me didn't make the anime any worse, probably because while I've nothing against blood, I don't instantly feel a scene is much better because it's full of it. And in the OP they tease you with almost showing Reiri's panties, which probably was purely intended to piss off anyone waiting to see them and made me laugh :D

Oh lol I totally forgot to mention the figure ^^ I think it's quite a nice one, yet Hime is probably my least favourite of the characters (looks-wise), the inclusion of Flandre is nice though. I won't be getting it, but if similar quality ones of Reiri or Riza come out I'd definitely be tempted! Special bases are fine and I wouldn't mind paying more, but often I find there's not enough attention put on them when it's part of the cause of a high price (e.g. I never noticed this figure had one before now even though I've seen numerous pics before). May just be me being blind too though :p

Danny, Only thing I can tell you is to avoid the anime at all costs. This is a case where the manga is EXTREMELY superior in comparison to the anime. Just stick with the manga and you should do good.

I'm rather fond of the clear Alter bases. Cool bases are nice if you're displaying them on their own, but if you're putting them with other figures it's out of place. Not to mention I'm putting them in an Ikea Detolf, which is transparent glass through and through.

I like how they actually made the scissors pierce the bricks. If they can make the figure interact with the base, so much the better for fancy ones, but I'm good with unobtrusive clear ones if there's no logical way to make the figure interact with the base.

The sculpt is nice, but she's not really my type. The base is very fitting though; if it's not extra cost, a themed base can add to a figure, but it should not be required for a figure to be good.

I think that the base depends with the figurine. It's great to have a intricate figurine with a detailed base, but the clear plastic bases suit simpler figures better (like Nendoroid).

I find myself getting more and more into slightly more...belligerent figures. :3 I must watch this anime now...

Her face, scissors and base look quite awesome. I think deciding between plain base + lower cost or cool base + higher cost depends on the style of the figure. For instance, figures with a simple pose and accessories wouldn't really need a fancy base. But in Hime's case, or GSC's first Ryougi Shiki, an interesting base seems like a plus.

It looks really well made, like the detail work on her tiara, but the pose and her outfit don't really grab me.

A really detailed diorama type base, I'd pay extra, but some of the diorama bases that aren't as nice are more distraction than anything and in those cases would rather have a plain base that's easy to ignore.
