I would love to see him fiddling with those nendroids you gave him. It always surprises me how many utensils are required for a meal. The lunch looks almost like a dinner course.
i know right O.o.
omg Danny if U visit the university pretty please take lots of pix! I enjoyed Honey and Clover so much ^O^ And funny how you talk about homesickness, I guess as much as I hate to admit it, I do get homesick ^^; I'd want to visit SG when we save more money tho, but it's a bit too hot and humid for me to want to live in :P I think the main thing is I miss my mom's cooking (And my family and friends back there too) and some of the Singaporean food is just unbeatable overseas lol! I guess I also miss it being a lot easier to get around in SG, even tho Japan/HK's train system feels more efficient lol. And AH please pretty please take lots of pix in SG (if you're not just there for business ^^;)
may i get your autograph when u come back? ^^; do bring your hamsters along too. ^^
hahhahaha uh okay but I can't bring hamsters sorry ^^; don't think they'll allow it =_=;
You could visit Singapore for the AFA08 this November :P May'n would be performing her first overseas live
unfortunately I think airtickets from canada to SG is very expensive ^^:
me too.... may I get ur sketches plus autograph :P May I have request sketches too?... I'll pay.... :d
depends how much? LOL
Hmmm define homesick. Homesick for where I grew up? yes I would like to go back there someday and think about moving back. Homesick to go back home to family? Absoloutely not (I do not like the lot of 'em). I assumed a place where you once lived, and my most recent home being the one where my family lives, no, I am not homesick. I AM homesick for a certain city and a few certain towns.
When I have returned to these places- some have not changed in 10 years- some have changed.
I have been waiting for this one. I should have known it was something to do with 60 ani. of relations, since Canada just had its 80 years of Harmonious Relationships with Japan in 2008. Many of the Anime Conventions in Canada were included in the events this year. ^^
not really homesick, but I do get Japansick lol (read: i don't mean i'm sick of japan lol)
You must had quite a great lunch Danny... I wonder how it taste... You had must been pretty excited going to meet the ambassador!!! Also you must had a very busy day too!!! A lot of meetings too in one day... I see Wonderfest Nendo!!!!!
That chap is one lucky bloke to get a Wonfes Exclusive Miku from Danny-sama. It would take more than selling kidneys to get one in this part of the globe.
Then what would?
Am I the only one who noticed the british ambassador looked like he was looking down in the pictures he was in?
Yeah, he's prolly just not picture savvy. Some can model and some cant.
And Arlington, TX local too! That makes two people from the general area I have found here. I am also in Arlington. Email me -- daniel at yacg.com. Maybe Potato Chobit, you and I could figure out something "otaku" to do some time. I also plan to move to Japan in a couple of years and wouldn't mind sending interesting things back to the U.S. from time to time.
That dessert looks yummy nummy! And way too show the otaku pride by having Kagami figma sitting by the plate ^_^ That's awful about the break in... I mean even left stuff on your desk, geez! You can send it this way if it's too troublesome for you to have it ^_~
hahaha dang danny, what a day....lunch and meeting with the British ambassador, more meetings, shopping, then a nice stroll through shibuya. ^^ what a day
You should have took a photo of the embassador playing with his new nendoroids, that would have been surreal. I don't miss my home country that much, what with having experienced racism and it being overall depressing. It did help me being more realist though, so it's not all bad.
what ambassador? pffft your the only worthy person in japan to be our ambassador! Make him go to your place and have lunch Danny!
So glad to hear that Danny... you really are going to be the ambassador of all things Otaku then? XD Keep us informed of your part in the play (UK-JAPAN 2008)! About Hachikuro... didn't know there was a role model for one of my all-time favorites animes. What is the character relation of that professor you met? Oh, I loved those underground department stores... is that the one at Shinjuku station?
I think what he meant was that the college in the anime was based on Musabi and not a particular character.
Simply Awesome Danny. I was born in England, but have lived in NY all my life. I'm sure it was a great honor for you. Keep on doing what you do because you do it so well.
That was a cool post Danny :) To answer your question. Well I left the UK to live permanently in Canada a few years ago now (being married to a Canadian was quite the incentive - long distance marriages...not recommended) and I do try and get back to the UK at least once a year or so. Sometimes I miss it, I miss the people and some of the places that I have a sentimental attachment to but a visit is all I think I'll ever need. After a week or so in the UK I begin to miss my home here and I begin to notice some of the reasons that made me willing to leave in the first place. Hmm that was a longer post than I intended!
'Get to know, the place we're from, we're from Halifax!!!' OMG Someone from Halifax!! Dare I ask if you've seen the Picnic Face video about Halifax??? Do you call your seeing eye dogs Golden Eye Dogs? Is your city bird the Dreadhawk? And how to you pronounce banal??? lol!!! This will all make sense if you've seen the video! (And is there a mascot called Splodey, who's tradgedorable?)
I get homesick just being 70 km's away from home, so i can't imagine how it would be i were to live on the other side of the world ^^;
Oooh that musta' been nice...>w<'' I woulda' been so nervous if I were there...''>w>
I moved to Canada from the UK about 12 years ago and have never looked back :P Even after visiting again, I find the place to be far too laid back. My life is far too fast-paced to be comfortable there anymore.
Is Canada as awesome as my mind has it made out to be? Not sure why... but I think Jpod(a novel) made me think Canada was a wonderful place lol.
It's too cold lol... and almost half of the year here's without sunlight ;_; (Vancouver)
Cold is good. Sun is bad(pale skin = mega easy sun burn.... not fun...). I'd like to think cos I was born in winter than I deal with cold better than those born in summer. It seems to work out ok hehe
not cold compared to well.... it'll be like zero at Van and possibly -35 in winnipeg xD
Ya well... ever since the strong gusts started here... power outage? lol Be bad if that happens now... --_-- (Like 3 days ago at exactly 1 A.M., no power for 15 minutes in my area anyways)
Wooooooow!!! Think of the layers you'd hafta wear!!! I do like being all wrapped up and snug... lol
Its my first time to work overseas as a Remote site medical officer and thought i wouldnt get homesick but darn! it hit me hard! Though I'm quite adjusted already here at my site... Good thing is that my rotation abroad only last 21-28 days then back home again... Im praying my next assignment would be in Japan! ^^
It's so cool he liked the Nendos!!! Very cool underground poster. Would be pretty cool to have. My walls are pretty bare atm... I'm really good at not being homesick. Sometimes I think theres something wrong with me lol. All I felt after going to uni was a pang literally just after they left, and then nothing, I just settled into my own thing. Makes me think moving further away will be pretty easy for me. I've been good at school trips that were quite far since I was like 9, and went to Germany when I was 11! For the Koln xmas markets. So pretty... Wish I could go again. Also... do I see Choco Cornets among that table of bread? Think theres any chance than Danny-san will one day attend a UK convention?
Danny, If I invite you to lunch in my house (argentina) you're gonna to carry gifts for me =D we can go to do some tourists visits and all the stuff. BTW I imagine the Ambassador's desk...on a important meeting. One of the black labels men who is with him says... -What is that?!- (signals the miku nendo) Ambassador: -Ah! Oh!...I forget! Let me introduce us. Miku, the boys; Boys...Miku Hatsune.- She is my new sexy singer bodyguard ;)
i see hachune miku and kagami nendoroid me want wahhhh... sob...
I think it was damn funny of you to bring those nendoroids! Haha. Glad he loved them. I bet those departo staff will apologise 385738 times if you showed them the furry friend photo. Maybe they'll give you a whole basket of bread!
Hmmmm. Good point ^^;
wow. nice post. that professor sure looks like someone from an anime. she looks stunning in that dress i say.
I only get homesick for the Philippines when wintertime rears its cold ugly head. otherwise i love it here in my own little corner of He...i mean New jersey.
my taste buds get homesick. ^^
That food looks sooo delicious! I would do anything to eat food like that. Amazing. Did Mr. Warren tell you why he invited you to lunch? Maybe for some otaku company? And lovely Nendoroids. :3
Ironically, I am kinda sick of my home. Which means that I need to find a job that will let me move to a different city and have my own place... with enough money to get a figure, manga, video game, or anime from time to time. But until then... I decided to find a way to get my own cloning facility. There, I would clone thousands of Danny clones... Train them to be moderators... And execute Order 44 when flaming and trolling become a serious issue. But knowing my luck, they will just dance instead of removing them.
seems like a fun trip! its weird seeing that food tho, instead of shumfing nihon-like....
Blimey the embassy looks very traditional British style... Some seem nostalgic to me as well. o_o A completely new environment can cause a culture shock, and it's not easy to get over with in a short period of time. How much one wants to accept or to reject the new change(s) is a big factor on whether one feels homesick or not, or at least on what I've known so far.
nice photos, real glad you got to recover them. might I ask what recovery software you used? looks as though you had a reverse break in at home. ^^ lol on the bus figured you might have missed that if you weren't feeling homesick, I spotted a Hatobus in Manila once. unfortunately my camera battery died at the exact moment, and wasn't fast enough to pop in the spare. ^^;
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/filesalvage.html Saved pretty much all photos.
wow have to download this for me mac at home. ^^ never know when any of my SD or flash disks will die. ^^
i have an absolute minimum of desire to return to Malaysia...
please dont ever come back here for your good sake, there's nothing you should miss back in M'sia (except if your love's one is here)
sadly 2 say my wife is from penang :(
Maybe miss the food?? Haha. I'll definitely miss Singapore food when I go over to Japan. No where can you find so much variety to eat. And most importantly, cheap and good!
RAMLEE BURGERS!!! You cant get that anywhere else
I've lived my entire life (only 20 years) in the same place, so I can't become homesick for a place I haven't left. I lived in another town breifly, but in the same area.
lovin japan so much, maybe more than my own country now ^_^;
I get homesick sometimes but i don't seem to miss things too much.
AH HA!! Oh Danny I knew u were gonna be an ambassadorial character fo sure <3 This is some highly exciting news, its like... wow recognition for contribution!
Woohoo Danny hitting it big...Maybe you'll get invited to be a lecturer (or guest lecturer) at one of the universities. I know I'd want to attend...Well I've lived here for over twenty years so if I were to move I think I would feel homesick immediately...
i guess i'm homesick in the opposite way. I've lived in the same country, suburb, street, house for the last 19 years. And boy am i sick of it...
I do get homesick sometimes when small things from different countries remind you of back home. The cows all over the place in Cambodia. The humid weather and a fan blowing in your face in Singapore. Everywhere super spaced out requiring a car to go anywhere in Guam. Little things like that.
mmm miku is definitely preparing for world domination ^_^
Wow. Now that's fine dining. I've always wanted to eat like that. heheh! Is the ambassador a closet otaku? heheheh! Must be nice to meet all those important people. ^^ Can't wait to know how you're involved with all of these :D
Wow...wow... This must have been a lot of fun and very interesting. I'm at a loss for words...
とても楽しく、いろんな方と会えて良かったです。 あのパンはこうところでしたが、買う気がすぐになくなった^^; >英国も季節感を大切にする国なのかな。 どちらかというと多分イエスです^^;
wow! the British Ambassador liked the Nendoroid and it's a WonFes Miku Hachune exclusive...he has some otaku in him i see XDDD
I see Miku... but what was the other nendoroid?
Thats what I'm trying to work out... by the box... and the bit of purple hair...could be a Lucky Star nendo.
I mention in the Japanese version of this article ^^;
Awesome coverage, and look liked you made some great networking contacts. ^_^ As for me, I do get homesick once in a while. It's been over 16 years since I've been back to my hometown, even though I've visited Japan a couple of times within that period (damn the allure of Kyoto! ^^). If I get stationed in Japan, I'll have to head north for a visit.
I see you had a great time:) Anyway, an university visit and a lot of pictures from that would be very nice.
Good choice with the Miku and Lucky Star nendoroids. I bet he's fiddling with them right now. :P
Ah Daniel-san, another first for DC. That salmon looks tasty as well as that dessert mousse. I am thinking tho my friend, it is time for you to invest in a proper suit. With all due respect, even otaku need the proper threads when invited to these swank events. To which I believe there will be lots more of; just a thought.
Im no expert in "proper suits" - please help.
You got it. If you're serious, I'll let u know what's what. Then go try some or get measured, bring the wife.
get a Brioni suit will make enough impact in every aspect for any occasion ^_^
Storm trooper suit is proper enough :D
I really think the casual dress attire is pretty good. Maybe just a nicer dress shirt underneath the jacket :D
I liked the casual blazer/jacket thing. It's not imperitive that Danny-san has to 'suit up' lol
i do agree with FB, ya definitely need to suit up. throw in a tie and you would look really gentlemanish.for lack of a better term hurhur
Glad you had a great time during the luncheon with the Ambassador David Warren, he look very friendly though ^^; Nice spot of the tiny little furry friend, show it to the department's manager & they'll gladly say "Pick any pastry you want, it's on the house *wink*"
Moved to Canada from HK a decade ago - not my choice, but a decade being half my lifetime means that I was too young to have a say then. :P I miss Hong Kong every now and then; always want to visit and considering moving back. I think I'm too accustomed to here now though. It's interesting how all the people who talked about leaving their home country seem to have ended up in Canada. Danny - great bit about the networking and business cards. I guess you've gotten to the point where having Mirai on your business card is seen as creative, nifty and representative rather than unprofessional. :)
Wow, I'm really quite surprised that you brought the figurines along, even more so that the ambassador liked them! It's good to read that it all went well though, formal meetings can be a bit daunting. It's also good to read that the relations between Japan and Britain are progressing well, with Danny-san inbetween ^-^
Glad that you are having a hand in building the friendship between the UK and Japan. God Save the Queen.
Same flower Vase? Isn't that an IKEA one? ^^;; The food looks cool, mostly due Kagami haha j/k Homesick... only been a few times, funny is - it was when i got back home from Japan. :( So is that... Japansick? Distancesick? I dun know. ><
I haven't gone anywhere in 3 years... I think I'm sick... of home! I wish I could just get away from it all but I don't have the money to do so.
"I has the same flower vase" <--- usually we say "I have" ^^ I think people here are too used to Engrish since nobody noticed. However since this is even about the British Ambassador then I guess proper English would be in order.
Engrish ? <----- V(^-^)m
I didn't mean that Danny writes any Engrish but more like people get used to a lower standard. What I meant was that we see everything relative to something and if we are used to read something of a low standard then decent but not 100% correct grammar will stand out as great. I have seen several people writing about this so it's not just my personal observation. If anybody shouldn't be familiar with the term "Engrish", then it's unskilled people trying to write something in English. There is a huge collection of funny results of this at www.engrish.com
Pretty sure it's being used in the meme sense: ex: "I can has cheeseburger?" IE: he's being silly... kinda... sorta... I think.
@tymmur "......."
"I have" "You Have" "He/she/it has" That's how I learned it at school. However based on the reactions here I googled both "I have" and "I has" and it would appear that both are widely used. I thought I have finally mastered English grammar (English isn't my native language) but now I'm more confused than ever.
Sometimes, you cannot grasp the fun in a story when following formal way. ^^ (And yeah, I'm not good in english but I think as long as everyone understands it, it would be ok. And this is an international community anyways you can't expect for all the members to be so fluent in english ^^)
He's doing it on purpose, he writes and speaks way better English than most of us here, that's for sure.
I think so too and that is what pussles me. Usually when people use incorrect grammar/words it's to prove a point or make a joke, but this one just looks like a mistake. Maybe there is some joke or reference here that I just don't get.
I'm not sure if this link would help, it's a link to lol cats http://icanhascheezburger.com/ I think it is where the silly grammar originated from. I personally got the "I can has" joke tho ^^; and U mean puzzle right? ;P
So the whole thing is about making errors on purpose since it should be funny... I don't get the funny part and I likely never will. All I can say is that if you get used to see a certain error then eventually you will start to remember what you usually see as the correct one. And yes I meant puzzle. This was a failure to proofread rather than an attempt to be funny (oops)
To get it you most likely need to lurk in lots of forums with image threads and possibly 4chan. I don't think you can get that brainwashed, especially when you get proper grammar hammered on your head (well at least for me) or it's your first language. Unless you're in beginner English level or something, you can't miss sth like "I has l33t zkillz" ^^U
"Better safe than sorry.." Upon reading those lines i smiled.. You must be very happy to be back home, Danny :D
I went and lived in Vietnam for 2 months over the summer, it cant be anything compared to my dream of going to Japan. But admittedly i was extremely homesick for the first 3 weeks of the trip about half way into it i forgot about home but occasionally it came back and just kills you inside. Your a brave man i commend you and i am extremely jealous.
lived in melbourne for almost 2 year... my parents told me that i will never saw my home country again TT_TT i dont care about the country, just get my family and friends here and i will be content... oh, and the food! damn im bored of Melbourne's food already...
Never been overseas so I can't really answer the poll question... But man! You're a pretty big figure now aren't you, Danny? I need more details on this UK-Japan thing!
So... No knighting scene? No "Sir" Danny?
Nice residence... I frequently visit my home(s) so I havent had a case being of home sick yet... Singapore & Indonesia (Palembang) are my homes :D
Mmmmmm, so British. Lovely big rooms and pure white table cloths ^__^ Anyway, Danny if you do come back to England, make sure to take a stop off and Manchester, and tell me where you'll be ^^
Wow, nice coverage^^ As for homesickness, I was a homesick kid when my parents send me to Singapore to study since I was a wee lad. But ever since so many years, the homesickness has become a thing of the past. Guess I got too accustomed to the culture in Singapore. Well, I do sometimes pay a visit back to my old hometown back in Indonesia on my vacations though. Just missed the good food there ^^
I wonder how figma Kagami would react to a plate of pie and mash or fish and chips? Now that you have met the british embassador, do you think he would give a good word to her majesty and honour you with a MBE medal? Danny Choo, MBE for services in the world of oriental culture (otaku and the love of oppai), services in entertainment (storm trooper dancing) and discoverinig various cuisines (Danny's photo of food) in the far east.
LOL, that would fit for a medal ^_^
"..until I spotted one of humans furry friends." <==== lol at this one. about homesick, yes I do get a homesick. Luckily my home country isn't far so I can get back home easily when holiday comes.
Sometimes I do, especially when I think about all the figure stores, artbooks, copic markers, etc, that I can easily get back at home =.= Plus friends and family of course ^_^ But I like it here. I have more independence, money and more importantly... more money O_O (Just kidding. I has my special someone here ^^ <3 )
Wow that really is one big residence, expected no less from the British Ambassador ^^; And you got a Princess Hime figurine! <3
woah that ambassador is sure tall. and you guys are mean! why would ya wanna antagonise a bunch of honest workers trying to make a living? it's like joe the plumber all over again. joke joke...
I have never been outside my home country before so I don't know what it feels to be homesick. BTW nice coverage Mr Danny! You are slowly gaining recognition throughout the world x_x
The residence looks so nice, I like the interior design and I so want a fireplace but if I use it here, I will sure die fast.
lol@the "furry friend" ^^
wow! Danny are meeting some important people! and i am very happy to know of the British ambassador love the nendoroids! spread for all the world the otaku culture Danny!
Hehe, otakuism is spreading~ I was more surprised to see the fly than I was shocked. I guess flies DO live everywhere after all...
nice danny... Hoping you would post something about this meeting... Starting to get connections in high places.... You will rule the world and finally destroy the misconception that otaku = creepy
Not having spent more than two weeks out of the country yet, I can't really speak on the level homesickness from staying away that long. I am trying to go on exchange to Japan either in the spring or next fall. I'm sure there's going to be some random thing that will just sandbag, but I already know that I'm going to miss my dogs and, apparently, decent cheese. My Japanese teacher just mentioned today that it's hard to find good cheese in Japan. That depresses me. I love cheese. :( It reminds me of how, when I spent those two weeks in Europe, I found myself missing breakfast cereal and salted butter.
Pretty awesome that he liked the nendoroids, but then again they are hard not to like.
I do get homesick, mostly just for food. I think if I were living in Canada or England, there would be some differences but I could probably get a lot of the same ingredients I need to make my favorites. Here, and particularly in the rural Iwate area, it's almost impossible. The thing I miss the most at this point is a good sandwich, the onigiri of the west. The last time I had a good sandwich was when I was home last year. :(
That fish is Salmon, they came from here in Chile (yeah, atm I'm on Chile).
Haha, I like how completely British the British embassy seems to be in Japan. British food, the lawn and even the architecture looks like it's here in the UK. I still live in the UK so I can't really say if I would feel homesick or not but I've been living on my own for a month now and I haven't felt homesick at all. Come visit the UK! You know you want to, where did you live? You mentioned getting food from Hackney, I used to live in Leyton which isn't too far from there.
Hi, danny (i don´t know if ya will read this but well it your blog...) i don´t tend to write very often ...but i'm always checking your website...always......i really like it a lot and i´m here since ...well...some years now...and ok, lets get to the topic...i´ve forgoten the word "homesick" cause i´ve learned in the past and in my mother language there is no specific word for it....but a lot of "special" words for other things....i do really feel homesick very often but i can´t return now that i´ve made a life overhere...i go home and visit sometimes...like each two moths or so....and i really love being there and i enjoy my time there every second...i´m currently studying and my best friend..also "suffers" the same sickness....he is from the same place i´m and we met there long time ago....i wonder if it is nostalgia or homesickness that we are experiencing both of us...but i really miss my hometown...but i can´t go back now that i´m studying....kinda sad, i know that....well i guess time should pass to let me have a deep thought about this
No casinos here in Japan, so I get a little homesick when I think of the poker I could be playing in Vegas. Other than that, love it here in Tokyo and don't really get homesick at all. Miss good Mexican food, though.
Look at those smile of Dannys, So Bright
Sorry folks - all comments since the server crash at 10AM got eaten ToT
I didn't realise there was a UK-Japan national event going on this year - a shame I won't be visiting Tokyo until summer or autumn next year. Great pics of the embassy (the Queen!) and downtown though. Shibuya looks so...photogenic, especially at night. I love the idea behind that pic of the Underground (which is a great way to get around the city, unless it's during a heatwave) though...I enjoy visiting the place but I'm not sure I could actually live there long-term. If the career prospects are good though, I'll consider it.
It look exciting! I wish I can have a visit there.
i only miss the 10 sent buñuelos that you can eat a 100 for like a dollar back in my country they are the size of the chest of a 1/100 gunpla so you wont get full easily XD
. A visit to the UK Amb? Wow! That's so cool. Great photos also. Thanks for sharing. "We are not worthy!!!" (Line from Wayne's World) .
That place looks totally swank. And the food! Must have been delicious.
How do you become an ambassador? Sounds like an awesome job.
I don't get out enough unfortunately to feel homesick. I think I've only really felt homesick once, many moons ago.
Saving the world before bedtime! Go super danny.
Amazing! Invited to a meal with the ambassador and the nerondoids was there too!!! Ahajaja, impresive. I feel homesick time to time. Maybe the main diference is that i move from my country (Venezuela) to Spain and we have the same idiom (spanish). But everything is diferent for me.
Looks very posh inside. I've been to the British Embassy twice but wasn't allowed anywhere near the inner sanctum! One good thing about the "UK-Japan 2008" thing is that WowWow (a Sky TV channel) have been airing more British TV shows this year. Currently enjoying "The IT Crowd"!
Japan & Britain. 2 great island nations. all i can say is "mad dogs & english men go out in the midday sun. the Japanese wouldn't care to. The Chinese wouldn't dare to". - Noel Coward. :)
congratulation on such an important event Danny!
mmm now im craving some Pho. Did the British Ambassador like the Nendoroids? I definately do get home sick at times, especially working away from home :(
Lunch with Len-Vesper followed by Lunch with The British Ambassador to Japan. Talk about Epic Upgrade! XD
omggggg....you're so lucky ! How do people get these invitations anyway ?
WOW....you're sure real famous...or an important person for Japan...i mean the British Ambassador inviting you?Exclusively?Danny,you're the GREATEST!!!SAIKOU DA!!
I'm from England and now live in the USA, have been here going on 11 years now, and occasionally I do get homesick, its become more so lately than it has, not quite sure why, maybe its partly because I've been talking to old friend from Uni and school more, or maybe I've just had enough and want to go back.
Danny, you must be the most famous otaku ever, getting invited by the British ambassador. So what does the near future hold for our champion? Oh yeah, I don't get homesick since ive been living here for some time and am pretty much used to it.
he's probably more popular than Toru Honda.
Sir Danny of Otaku. :)
Hence why he got kidnapped by that Hiro guy as a later post shows.
LOL i can just see them playing like house with the nendroids LMFAO ;D
Jeez, when people break into my house, they don't leave goodies for me, they usually take some instead =( I miss my psp ;_;
When I lived in the middle east for a year, even though it was an American Base, I was definitely homesick for anywhere in the USA. Probably because it felt like being in prison in the middle of a desert. Ireland and Korea didn't make me feel homesick though when I was there for a few years each.
"Have not been back to the UK for a while now and the more time I spent in the residence, the more I started to feel a homesick - homesick for a visit but not to live as I love it here in Tokyo." -Honestly, it may sound odd, but I feel the same way (except I live in Toronto area).I'd rather live here than come back living to Ukraine. Even though Ive been here only a few years, I feel I'd want to move out of here. It does sound odd, but I cant do anything about it.
I'm very sure the photo collage was done by David Hockney. British artist.
LoL you gave the ambassador some Nenoroids!???! haha He must have seemed pretty happy!!!! ^__^ I'd be happy too! =3 >__< lol
having heard about the cleanliness in japan, until only recently... I thought it's impossible in japan to find a fly enjoying itself over a piece of bread, peacefully :D
