Today we are going to have a look at just some of my unboxed Nendoroids ^^;
For those who dont know, Nendoroid is a series of figures from Good Smile Company where the characteristic is a huge head on a weeny body.
There are different types of Nendoroids - the standard ones (about 10cm high), Nendoroid Puchi - trading figures that cost 500 yen each and are about 5cm tall.
Then there are Nendoroid Plus - Nendoroids which are either a collaboration effort between two companies or there is something particularly special about it.
I think this one of Melissa is my fave out of the lot - just love her bright face.
What?! Nendoroid fans may not have seen this one before - find out who she is tomorrow at the official Good Smile site in Danny's corner.
Nendoroid Puchi Shana - she comes with one of the Shana DVD's.
Mikuru Shana.
Been reading the manga Kemeko Deluxe - cant wait for the anime to start later this week. PV below.
Thats MM you see peeking out of the Kemeko unit.
Inside the Kemeko fits a full sized human - a bit like Dr Who's Tardis.
And this is Kemeko with MM fully inside. This is actually a Nendoroid Plus which joins onto the MM figure made by Max factory - review after the anime is out.
Very funny manga - does have a bit of fanservice but does not focus on it like To Love Ru does.
Mikuru from the 3rd Haruhi Nendoroid Puchi set - due out next month.
Very sweet indeed.
Haruhi from the same set.
Yuki - same set.
You can see the other members at Danny's Corner later this week.
And if you want to see what the secret figure is then I've only posted it at Danny's corner which you can see here.
Rei Mii from Zoids.
Moetan. Most Nendoroids come with 3 sets of faces. I keep Moetan on this face.
Kagami Rin.
Very sweeto desu.
More pics of Asakura at Danny's Corner.
The Nice Boat knife.
Dont remember much of Asakura. Probably time to watch Haruhi again.
Konata Elegance from Zoids.
Mikuru does Gachapin cosplay.
Mikuru No Tease.
Kemeko does Mikuru cosplay.
Mikuru-chan kawaii na.
Haruhi Nendoroid desu.
Hatsune Miku Nendoroido desu. I like Miku because you can display her without a stand - her twin tails stop her from falling over.
Hatsune Kemeko.
Mikuru from the 3rd Haruhi set.
Captain Haruhi.
Yuki in bridge gear.
You can see the rest of the team at Danny's Corner later this week.
Mao from Doki Doki Majo Shinpan - the feel'em up game for the DS.
Kerokero.
Enpatsu Mikuru Ver.
The Mikuru froggie is my fave Nendo puchi.
Tambourine girl Mikuru.
Mikuru and Peke.
And thats the lot for today. I used to think the Nendoroids looked a bit odd at first - especially after collecting just standard scale figures.
Now that I'm surrounded by them all day at work, I cant get enough.

I remember when I started to blog about Nendoroids - I saw many comments from users saying that they thought the Nendoroids looked odd - have you been converted or do you think they still look strange?

For me, it was Hatsune Miku...
I used to think they were kinda... too uniform (like they all looked too much alike).
A video converted me:

Nendoroids are one of the reasons I started my figurine collection. Started with Death Note, and since Haruhi nends looked cute and were affordable bought them too. Very cute and I probably will buy more, even when I'm not into some characters.

One thing I did not like from the first nendoroids was the stand. It didn't quite fit for my Light, Misa and Haruhi nends, they were constantly falling and the paint-job got ruined in a couple of them. I stored them in the hopes someday I could make my own stand or purchase some new ones, whatever comes first.

I also have to admit they are getting smaller. Melissa is my smallest nendoroid, yet price is the same as the old ones. It does go with the more detail they have now, but I can't help but hesitate sometimes, what with PVC being just a bit pricier but much bigger.

I think they are cute and cool. But I personally am not a collector of nendroids. They are a little pricy and cost roughly the same as a Figma. Figures that represent the character as they are are prefered by me. (^.^)

Nendoroids are so cute! I love them in the first sign. =D
But I think they're a bit overpriced especially after figma came out.

I don't really like Nendo proportions, their heads are a bit *too* big. That said, I got Melissa too and don't regret it one bit. She's one of the cutest things in my collection!

I'll probably get Lion Saber too <3

I like them. It's another take on the character that's done in a fun way. It's also a figure that usually costs a bit less and I don't feel like has to stay in the display case.

this comment has nothing to do with the post, i hope danny reads this, hey danny its been long time since you made a post about gundam, when i found your website was full of things of gundam and other type of robots, and there where of course figures, that was almost 3 years ago more or less, it would be cool if you made more post about gundam, i know its your website and all and you can do whatever you want but it would be really cool to have that part of the site back, i never really made an account but i been checking almost dialy your website xD its really good, and it would be great if you brought back that part of dannychoo.com

kind regards an otaku from tatooine :P

Thanks for your comment dear loyal reader ;-)

Personally I'm also into gunpla collections, so I can feel your request.
As Danny had started his own company & it had really kicked off to the promising bright future.
Danny have little time to cover on his Gunpla tutorial, because each plastic model kit need to invest a lot of time (than figures & others topics) & skillful work (paint job etc...) in order to present the detailed result of the final model display.

Danny had mentioned he'll try his best to bring more coverage on Gunpla whenever is posible, in the meantime, please kindly enjoy the flow of this wonderful community ^_^
(Solely from my very humble opinion)

It's nice to see that you're concerned about that. But the problem is Danny is busy lately, owning his own company and being affiliated with Good Smile Company. And I guess these figure reviews are also part of his job being with GSC so these posts are considered part-work. So please bear with it for a while and just enjoy some gundam related posts in the Member News Section. ^^

Nendoroid Fever!

Ahh sadly I am also affected. Currently only have about 9 of them in my collection (standard Nendo), with one of them is a Wonfes Edition (ahh Wonfes stuff IS SO EXEPENSIVE to obtain).

My pre-orders as well consist of most nendoroids, but had to skip some of them due to finance constraints.

My dream is to collect all nendoroids as per listed in nendoroid.jp , but it will be an impossible one.

I do believe Danny probably have all of them in his collection :p

I love them: cute and sweet but their joints are sometimes.. loose (lack of better words) as depicted in image 22337. Not a big problem tho, if I don't move them around too much.
Another thing is some of them are not really stable even with the stand. For example the Saber Konata. (Not sure if its my lousy skills, huge head or wut)

I wonder if anyone remembers the "superdeformed" characters from way back? Nendoroids are just an updated version, using the "head same height as body" proportion.

SD is win. That said, the full size Nendoroids are pretty big, and the head would seriously hurt someone if you threw at someone :P. Their balance is also extremely off. I think the Nendoroid puchis are perfect, size wise.

I've been buying a few nendoroids, but not as much as others. I wasn't going to get the Ryoko Asakura one, but Danny showed that there were 3 reasons to buy it: Extra Parts for Yuki, Haruhi & Mikuru Nendos!! ARRRGGGHHHH!!! I have to spend money again >_<

I'm not really into collecting figures to begin with (although I do like to watch them on the pictures) and I think that keeping something that you have to dust every couple of days, be careful not to wipe off the paint or even worse brake into pieces is too bothersome. But if I ever want to buy any figure it would be definitely one of the Puchi Nendoroids.
