Yikes - has it really been that long since the last Gundam article ^^;
These were taken today at the Chara Hobby being held this weekend at Makuhari.
Looking at the Gunpla made me realize how much I miss making them - the Unicorn looked especially cool.
The only real notable news was the new articulated series that Bandai is launching called Robot Damashi which I covered a bit earlier in the News Items.
Readers who have been with us for a few years will know that dannychoo.com started to become popular due to the Gundam content which I used to post daily. I also had much time back then to make Gunpla.
Now that I need to spend more time on running my company, I find it difficult to make time to make Gunpla and thus have not really been in the loop with Gundam anymore.
Folks who miss the Gundam stuff can always keep up at Gunota.
Now that the readership has changed a lot, am wondering how many Gundam fanatics are out there?
More Chara Hobby coverage tomorrow and you should expect to see more at Moeyo and Akibahobby.
This coverage is being brought to you with Akihabaranews.
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

Wow... nice gundam pictures you have here. I also think that the Unicron gundam is so damn cool especially when it expanded and show up all the pink color parts.

You can paint and glue, but there's no reason to if that's what you want. The parts just snap together really without the use of glue but people just sand/paint/glue for better aesthetic appeal... So yeah. You can build most Gunpla stright from the box!

I'm also a Gunpla collector first before became figures collector, I never bought a single Gunpla in more than 3 years (the last one was PG Strike Gundam) since somehow I lost interest collecting them while my figures have growing so fast in past 3 years. But seeing your report now I would like to buy and built the Unicorn.

Finally a Master Grade from the SEED series. Infinite Justice looks so cool even in grey-scale. lol.
I know what you mean - not having the time for Gunpla. I had the same problem. a few boxes of unopened/unfinished Gundams stashed in a quiet corner back home. They're near retirement.

Finally? There have been Master Grades for Strike, Strike Rouge, Freedom, Force Impulse, Strike Freedom, Destiny and Strike Noir from the SEED series. Infinite Justice is only their latest SEED MG. What I'm curious about is the Gundam Exia pictured. It looks detailed enough to possibly be the next MG after I-Justice maybe?

Nah.. I think Bandai will stick to their UC models. They still has MG Zaku cannon, Zaku tank, Gun tank, and G-Armor in their line up.
I ever heard they will probably release either Sinanju or Kshatriya.
But still i want MG from AD Universe too.. 00 would be nice..

well - Ive probably been with your website here over 3-4 or more years??? I was also present long before you had the whole user login system. (building your little empire here & giving us users a voice so we can interact more with you, the site & also other users) well - you have definitely moved away from Gundam. I remember back in the day almost 98% of posts were on Gundam related topics. but i suppose after completing the initial task of making the site successful you got bored (perhaps? :P) & decided to seek out alternative news & happenings to blog about. But one of the main reasons i stuck with this site for so long was the Gundam postings - youd post about new/older models & id start making a wish list for my next trip to Hong Kong.

Im no doubt a huge Gundam Fanatic & because the site Meta expontentialy going from Gundam to more Japanese Culture related & other topics I havent posted as much as I would have liked. Even though I do read all your posts & find them interesting (I hope to visit japan soon & hopefuly be able to meet the 'man behind the mask' - yay stormtrooper!) free saki for all!!! Errrrrrr what elso do i want to say???? yeah! i miss the Gundam posts - I know your really busy & keeping up with every area (Echi, Gundam, Culture etc etc) is obviously not an easy job given that you maintain the website in your own time so trying to blend it in with everything that life throws at you cant be easy.

& with this post I think ive been with the site long enough to meet 'Grand Kai' (or OAP) status

'Nuff Rezpekt'

Hayden. - (one of your most commited fans)

In their defense, the last Perfect Grade (Strike/Strike Rouge/Aile Skygrasper) was quite excellent. Easily the best of the PGs so far. It'll be tough to top.

I think Danny mentioned this once, but don't think bandai plans on releasing any PG in the foreseeable future, PGs cost more to produce thus they are more expensive and harder to sell, plus Bandai certainly makes more money by selling MG kits.

The unicorn escaping is quite cool, shame that they didn't manage to recreate the "berserk" feel it gave when it escaped in the animated section they used for the unicorn advert.

And that Modified Perfect Grade Strike Noir is brilliant!!! And I'm not even that big a fan of strike noir!!!

Looking for work again
I have only wanted one Gundam series. Which was Gundam Wing. So I would love every one of the gundams that they had out for that series. Since I have not seen the others, I don't want em :P

I managed to buy and put together 4 1 to a 100 gundam kits from the Gundam Wing series, but they fell out of fashion in the US before I could get all of them.

The "Gundam modeling tutorial for busy people" was the one that lured me into this site. DC's site is also the reason I got back into gunpla modeling (I switched to Zoids before coming back to gundam). Yea, I really miss the gundam updates from Danny. I learned a lot from here =)

That Zaku is so awesome. I love how they refrence the helmet to German WW2 helmets. Gotta have love also for that beautiful NZ-666 and that MSN-06S. I just love those heavy armors, the Zeon just have different looks than the typical "gundams". So much more design put into there armors while i love the good guys most of the typical "gundams" all look similar. I do love Unicorn though.Great pics Danny, keep the gunamd news/pics coming. I prefer to see and read Gundam coverage over "human" figure news. Im just a Mech head I guess.

I agree.. haven't had much time for the hobby with school and all, but slowly making more time for it latly as school is winding down. I knew of someboy, not a gunlpa, but a model builder non the less, that he spent a minimum of 2hrs working on his models.. no matter what! it didn't mater if he didn't sleep, he spent quality time with his models.. True dedication!

Gundam is definitely something I can't live without. If I had to give up but one of my other anime otaku type activities, Gundam is what I would keep. I'm sure it is what first brought me to DC.com many years ago. *feeling old*. I understand you not having time Danny to build kits. I'm having the same problem, but I will work it back into my schedule somehow. I enjoy Gundam.

Yesterday I was greeted with a box that contained two of the latest GFFs and an HG I'm looking forward to building. It will take sometime to build... T_T I do wish they would let us see what the new GFF Metal will look like soon. At first I wasn't really impresses with the GFF Metal figures. Now I look at them as the PGs of the GFF line. Wish they would give us a few Zeon suits in GFF Metal...

Ya, been reading for a while. Do miss a lot of the gundamn posts. It was DC that made me more passionate about the gundams. If you don't have time it's hard to make them. I am fairly busy these days too and don't even have time to maintain my own blog as often as I want.

It would be great if someone posted more gundan related material such as new releases in the member news section.

I love some of the new Zaku models. I have also been under the radar on Gundam a lot too- the primary reason being a lack of availability then I have a lot of work to do here at the campus. I go out of my way sometimes to build models, though. I am working on a Tamiya 1/35 IDF Merkava right now.

Anyway I felt pretty pissed when I see that the HG 1/144 00 Gundam doesn't include the shield.
Damn! Makes me think of the time when I found out that HG 1/144 Dynames hasn't got the pistols.

Seems like only the HG 1/144 00 Gundam doesn't have the shield.
The Robot Tamashii, HCMpro, 1/100 even the SD have the shield.
Damn!!!

Wow all of those are so well built. I only have 2 gundams built, both suck and busted. First one was because I bought a MG for my first time building, did not end up well...I just sucked at it. The 2nd one I just dropped it and it broke...also possibly due to my lack of skill.

I just don't have adequate space to spray, and hand painting every part looks sloppy with visible brush strokes. I wish there was an in-depth definitive tutorial for how to paint them to look "great", i.e. - no visible brush strokes, order of operations, etc.

I'll be honest and say I've never actually got into Gundam. Mostly because of the lack of opportunity I had to ever watch a Gundam anime. And now that I can there are so many different Gundam series out there that I have no idea where to start. As for Gunpla I wouldn't mind trying my hand at building some of them. I use to enjoy building models when I was younger.

If anyone has any recommendations for a Gundam anime to watch and/or any Gunpla I can start with please let me know.

I've never been into Gundam figures, probably because I don't understand them (I've led a very sheltered life ^_^). I intend going to the Expo in October at the Excel centre in London, so maybe I will pick up something from there. I enjoy the creative aspect of kit figures, so perhaps I should give these fellas a go - after all, it's only fair!

I discovered this site because of Danny's Gundam coverage! I'm so happy that Danny has more Gundam news for us evn though it is rare nowadays..
I've always thought that the Gundam section had the least news...

Anyways, I'm always in the loop in the world of Gundam, but my unbuilt models are quickly building dust as I don't have time because of school, but I'll never let others build my models for me even though that they can do a better job than me. There's this sense of accomplishment once you finish a Gundam, and it feels very good.

School is brutal, and I'm lucky enough to have finished painting my Pink Zaku. I still have 5 more years of schooling to go, since I plan on taking up Law... but that won't let my love for Gundam wither, I'll always squeeze time so that I can do things that I love (drawing, gundams and gaming)

Well... I can tell you that there are still many Gundam fanatics out here... most of them always add a link of your website into their website/blog...

Gundam... a small market or a big toy universe it is, will surely have their fans as long as BANDAI never stop in making them better and better year in year out... both the anime and the toys/kits...

As for other loyal readers of your portal... I think anything that you posts.. they'll read it anyway...

I never caught on to the whole Acguy crazy. In Gundam online they'd be entire player-run events that were dedicated to them.

I was building a master grade version of the first gundam but I lost the little red jewel thing on the head... I don't think I can finish this anymore and call it a gundam -__-
