All I see are these lil' boxes.... actually I know this computer doesn't have the Japanese language pack installed so I know that's why I have the lil' boxes instead of what should be there. So I can't really comment to much on the layout of the Japanese site but I like the organization of the english site better than the two columns of mini images of the other one.
You can use translate.google.com and copypasta the page to see what it says.
I like the English version of the site better... And where are the eyes you promised?! LOL
I agree, eyes should be forthcoming!
LOL looks like Danny posted eyes after all... 100 MB worth at that!
Wow Mr. Danny! I heard your voice XD My computer reads Japanese fine but the problem is I don't know how to speak Japanese in the first place. Sucks to be me T_T I kinda like the English layout more x_x
Last thing I'd see on CNN is a Storm Trooper! I like the Jap layout (though I'm biased)
Love your accent. Ha. How nice, I love both the UK and Japan (though Japan more ^^)
lol why is storm trooper in parentheses?
Because of epic fail. :P <a href="http://quotation-marks.blogspot.com/">The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks</a> I'd say a screen of that vid belongs on this blog. XD
Oh balls, I guess there's no html here. This url oughta work: http://quotation-marks.blogspot.com/
I still heard that telltale accent in the CNN interview! You haven't lost it yet, there's still hope! Hm, I wonder if the accent would be considered a Danny Choo charm point? Is it Moe? D: Man, it must have been hot in that suit, I heard the temperature on that opening day was pretty harsh, still, Trooper Danny always has energy to dance. XD Personally I really like the English layout more. I like the middle-bar having larger posts with your daily-news and 'last years' stuff. It makes it more like a welcoming newspaper front page, which I find makes it more pleasant to read, large pictures give a better idea and better eyecatch.
Awesome!!!! And OMG 100MB? No way in hell!!!
Nice, thanks for the coverage of Otaku.fm posts and the English bloggersphere in Japan, Danny. Looking forward to the figure review.
Danny, you rock :D
I dont really mind the layout and stuff, as long i has my daily supplement :p
I prefer the English version; the Japanese seems a bit dull and boxy to me. Hmzz, what figure could that be you're talking about? Oh well, don't have any money anyways. Oh and yes, I'm d-loading the 100 M now. I could stick it on the roof like a huge billboard visible from space with that resolution ^^
well, you still sound a little like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM ^^
everyone has an accent and it's hard to lose it even if u are away from the country for a long time. i think it makes us unique. ^^;
I was going to say that I like the accent! Yup.. I've always liked that accent.
I like the layout the way it is now ^^
Hey i like the Japanese version. More stream line. Also i didnt see no "same time last year posts" which i could do with out. Maybe you can do the same with the english version. Like do 3 to 4 columns. And have them be "Toggleable" (is that a word???) Eg: Otaku , DC News , STLY ,and puchi blurbs... well thats my two cents.
Nice thread. I like pretty much the video in Good Smile. All that figures...gosh, the heaven!!!
The japanese layout just feels similar but different. Had a quick read but I wasn't able to make out the kanji so I was a bit stuffed. I certainly don't have the confidence to reply in japanese...
Yeah, I have to say I prefer the English version. I don't have the necessary knowledge to post in Japanese as I can only read and write kana.
I like the English layout better, guess I'm more used to it.
I tend to toggle back and forth from the Japanese version to the English.. but seeing fewer comments on the Japanese version makes me a little hesitant. -_-;;
I guess I like the English layout better because I can't read Japanese. Though, that really has nothing to do with the layout. In an unrelated topic. I have the LG Dare. I think the iPhone 3G is better by leaps and bounds, but AT&T's service sucks something fierce.
Well, for me, the English site would be better. Most people around the world knows the english language better then any other language.
Ok, big Danny! Next time to Al Jazeera!
I'm afraid my written Japanese isn't up to par, so I won't be able to take advantage of the new revision. Talkin about Danny's accent again, huh? I find it quite interesting & unique. It's proper English mixed with Japanese mannerisms, so its delivered in quick, short spurts with a British accent. Sound funny when he says "mmm... big eyes". Like a ecchi Englishman LOL!
(笑)
I'd still feel shaky about banking on my cell phone for some reason.
my japanese is worse than my english, so for the moment i prefer the english...
I prefer the English site layout more, hey Danny at the Sony E3 conference there was a dancing trooper video when they were showing Sing Star footage, was that you?
not me ^^
Then there is an impostor among us lol
lol that was the first thought that came to mind when i saw that too!
I still prefer the english version myself, the Japanese version looks very much like every Japanese page I have ever been too. Maybe this will be more familiar with the locals, so I would say keep it that way.
well the jp version is nice too, maybe if you move the news section to the left and the articles to the center I will like it more :D I like the articles in small boxes. you can view more of them in one glance, but I will stay to the eng version because my japanese sucks :D
私の いっけんで 「Hmm nice eyes」は 「いろいろです」より いい じまく です。 It grabs your attention. :) 日本語の サイトより 英語を 好む。 I like the topbar, and I just need the Japanese news. でも 英語の やくが あるから 日本語の サイトは れんしゅう しに 便利 です。 もんだいは 漢字が たくさん わかりません。 大きな おっぱいの フィグア...I know too many characters with big eyes so it's hard to guess. btw the first time I saw you speak was on some Japanese Tv show where they were taking a look at your (japanese) site.
日本語を打つ時はには空白入れなくてもいいよ。
日本語を打つ時はには空白入れなくてもいいよ。
mamamia, The first time I've been echoed by my own system ^^;
Don't read Japanese so I pick up the english version. First time 've heard ur voice was on ur common monthly geek review with Daimaou from Akihabaranews. Any other stuff like that or u're both too busy?
Been a bit too busy of late to continue that. Will revisit possibilities.
It's too bad that they didn't catch the really good part, but you sounded pretty good on camera, and your suit certainly looked great! The only time I got on camera (was helping to fight a grass fire), the local news station edited all of my talking out, and all that ended up was my back as I walked towards a smoky patch of something. Probably for the best, though- I think I looked pretty bad and didn't sound all that great. For me, I think I like your english site layout a bit better- everything seems to fall-to-hand a little more easily, and is easy for me to navigate. While I'm not familiar with the mascot, it's a neat addition to the Figma line. My guess for the upcoming review is Figma Mikuru...
I like the English layout better but I like the revisions your planning. Since I don't understand enough Japanese at the moment I won't be able to take advantage of it just yet but hopefully soon. :p
I'm going to read more of these articles in Japanese as well. (since I'm going fro JLPT 3 at the end of the year anyway, I can use all the practice I can get). And you write reasonably "simple" sentences. Also good for some kanji&vocabulary. And using the Moji-addon for firefox, it's very easy to look up kanji and words.
Wow I never heard of this plugin before. Thanks a lot this is awesome. :D
The Japanese site is more streamlined which is nice but it feels like it offers less. It must be tough to run one website and cater to completely different audiences. Do you update the Japanese site as often as you do the English version? What kind of content outside of Japan are your Japanese viewers looking for? Maybe those of us outside of Japan can help give insight on whats happening.
I update the Japanese side everyday. They be looking for strange stuff. thousands came to see melon pan with his dakimakura for example.
100 megs is taking a looong time to load up, lol I just wanna get it to say I have a 100 meg picture!
me too. lol.
I prefer the english site better. I won't be downloading the 100mb pic, since i have slow connections. Btw, i can't login through the login under the post comment, login button doesn't seem to work.
Aww awesome <3 I think the Good Smile Video IS the first time I've heard you voice. I always imagined you to have the voice of a voice over man for a movie for some reason ha ha. Indeed your Brit accent is all but gone, and you have a fairly international accent - very neutral, with bits and pieces showing from different regions.
I use the English site because my Japanese literacy is 0%. And I am downloading the 100 MB file. It's taking a little longer than it should, I suspect because of the site itself. But I will have it.
i shall not comment using engrish or japanese from now on..I shall comment using Chinese~~ 哈哈 Possibly will use Japanese in near future when I studied enuff to spam dc.com japanese version..尖笑..
Way to be super popular Danny!
Ooo, the Japanese layout. I guess it will be a good testing ground to test your Japanese skills. I think you still have the cool English accent, makes me jealous not able to speak like that lol.
I prefer English layout. By the way, I like your accent Danny ^^
What are you talking about, "The English accent is almost gone" ..my a$$ it is, it's very strong to me mate!
Wow, you sound pretty average XD I was expecting more over the top Danny, but I guess you had to be a bit mild since you were in an office in one video and on the news in the other.
prefer the english layout more. it has all the popular sections on the front page. dont know japanese :( trying to learn it but cant seem to remember the letters. is there an easy way to remember the basic kana's? dont want to rote learn them. and a 100mb pic OO. should be good enuf to print a billboard or cover a wall in my bedroom!
Keep the english accent, It sounds cooler. My opinion though.
For being quite a long time here, that interview with CNN was actually the first time I heard you speak in english. You should keep that accent and try not to lose it. :)
Well I can't read Japanese, but in terms of layout, I still like the English one better since it's easier to tell apart the smaller articles from the bigger ones...
Wow Danny, you've been quite busy lately! The iPhone vid, the Rick Roll vid and the CNN vid. ^^ As for the poll - I like the English site's layout much better. I'm learning Japanese as a hobby, so I have a hard time reading more than 2-3 words without using rikaichan. ^^; I'd occassionally read some articles on it though.
Wow! Tokyo Storm Trooper is internationally known now! haha congrats Danny.
lol they cut you off, what were ya gonna say after that? oh and that was the same time i heard a muffled dannychoo english voice :)
Is there any program that lets you type in Kanji + Hiragana?
I like the English version even my english is not good ^_^
100MBs picture o_0; it mast be as big as a house *drewls ant the thought of house sized nosebleed material* lol
Ah... Doala is super funny and popular on Nico Nico Douga, the mascot crazy antics like getting beat up by a opposing team baseball player makes you want to feel sympathy. Reminds of the Philadelphia Phillies mascot "Phillie Phantic" in Professional American Baseball.
"Any baseball fans here?" *raises hand* I like the San Diego Padres, they are my home team. In Japan, I saw a lot of caps related to the Yomiuri Giants, but many posters and flags related to the Hanshin Tigers. I even bought a cellphone charm of the Hanshin Tigers. I consider myself a Hanshin supporter.
Nice pictures, I love the English Layout and I hate Baseball, the only sport that make me don't understand anything ! Soccer with Zinedine Zidane are better than this kind of sport.
at least baseball is better than golf - its a $@$@^^#@^% waste of precious land and its not even an exercise i prepare Cantona to Zidane for he is Eric the King
Yes, Danny you're right, what you said was a bit too simplistic :P. It's still true though ^^.
LOL You do sound like you're losing your English accent^^;...
