Hmmm Nice Eyes 1

Was going to call this new series "Hand Full O updates" but decided that "Hmmm Nice Eyes" sounded more interesting.
First up is me on CNN again - was interviewed on the day of the iPhone launch but didn't know they used the footage. They cut me off just before I could say something decent ^^;
And you can see a higher resolution at CNN.
Below: Rick Trooper and dannychoo.com featured in Wired Vision - the Japanese version of Wired.
Below: Rick Trooper featured in Wired thanks to Waxy.
Below: Folks who read the Japanese version of dannychoo.com will notice a change of layout and content. Much of dannychoo.com content is geared to folks outside of Japan but Japanese folks want to know whats going on *outside* of Japan in your otakusphere.

Thus I have decided to write more Japanese only content which you may notice popping up here n there.
I will be mainly introducing stuff from your posts at Otaku.fm and in your News Items. You should be expecting more Japanese folks visiting your blogs soon.

Have a look at the Japanese version of dannychoo.com and let me know if you prefer that layout to the English version.
If you are learning Japanese then I encourage you to have a read. You can post comments in Japanese and I will answer in Japanese. It could be a great place to practice your Japanese with fellow comrades too.

Below: I'm now getting press kits from Goodsmile so you should expect even more exclusive figure news in addition to the coverage that I bring you directly from their offices.

This is Doala - the mascot for the baseball team Nichu Dragons. Folks outside of Japan will probably go "huh?" but many Japanese baseball fans will go wild.
This Figma is out September, retails for 2,500 yen and pre-orders start tomorrow.
When I lived in Seattle for a while, my colleagues at Amazon would always invite me to see a game - I never went ^^; Any baseball fans here?

You got the review of Nida before she hit the stores (and pre-production Nida too) and I've just been given the green light to bring you a review of another most yummy figure before she hits the stores nationwide. One of the cutest figures ever (she as the big eyes) - review tomorrow. Can you guess who it is ^^;
And here are the nice eyes from Mikeo sensei - download the original 100.6MB image from the left column at Moe Imouto. Would love to know how many actually downloaded the 100MB file ^^;
And before I forget, I saw a few comments from folks who said that it was the first time they heard my voice in the CNN interview - you may want to see a tour of the Good Smile offices below ^^;
Although there's not much left of the English accent...
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

All I see are these lil' boxes.... actually I know this computer doesn't have the Japanese language pack installed so I know that's why I have the lil' boxes instead of what should be there. So I can't really comment to much on the layout of the Japanese site but I like the organization of the english site better than the two columns of mini images of the other one.

I still heard that telltale accent in the CNN interview! You haven't lost it yet, there's still hope! Hm, I wonder if the accent would be considered a Danny Choo charm point? Is it Moe? D:

Man, it must have been hot in that suit, I heard the temperature on that opening day was pretty harsh, still, Trooper Danny always has energy to dance. XD

Personally I really like the English layout more. I like the middle-bar having larger posts with your daily-news and 'last years' stuff. It makes it more like a welcoming newspaper front page, which I find makes it more pleasant to read, large pictures give a better idea and better eyecatch.

I prefer the English version; the Japanese seems a bit dull and boxy to me. Hmzz, what figure could that be you're talking about? Oh well, don't have any money anyways.
Oh and yes, I'm d-loading the 100 M now. I could stick it on the roof like a huge billboard visible from space with that resolution ^^

Hey i like the Japanese version. More stream line. Also i didnt see no "same time last year posts" which i could do with out. Maybe you can do the same with the english version. Like do 3 to 4 columns. And have them be "Toggleable" (is that a word???) Eg: Otaku , DC News , STLY ,and puchi blurbs... well thats my two cents.

I guess I like the English layout better because I can't read Japanese. Though, that really has nothing to do with the layout.

In an unrelated topic. I have the LG Dare. I think the iPhone 3G is better by leaps and bounds, but AT&T's service sucks something fierce.

I'm afraid my written Japanese isn't up to par, so I won't be able to take advantage of the new revision.
Talkin about Danny's accent again, huh? I find it quite interesting & unique. It's proper English mixed with Japanese mannerisms, so its delivered in quick, short spurts with a British accent. Sound funny when he says "mmm... big eyes". Like a ecchi Englishman LOL!

It's too bad that they didn't catch the really good part, but you sounded pretty good on camera, and your suit certainly looked great! The only time I got on camera (was helping to fight a grass fire), the local news station edited all of my talking out, and all that ended up was my back as I walked towards a smoky patch of something. Probably for the best, though- I think I looked pretty bad and didn't sound all that great.

For me, I think I like your english site layout a bit better- everything seems to fall-to-hand a little more easily, and is easy for me to navigate.

While I'm not familiar with the mascot, it's a neat addition to the Figma line.

My guess for the upcoming review is Figma Mikuru...

I'm going to read more of these articles in Japanese as well. (since I'm going fro JLPT 3 at the end of the year anyway, I can use all the practice I can get). And you write reasonably "simple" sentences. Also good for some kanji&vocabulary. And using the Moji-addon for firefox, it's very easy to look up kanji and words.

The Japanese site is more streamlined which is nice but it feels like it offers less. It must be tough to run one website and cater to completely different audiences. Do you update the Japanese site as often as you do the English version? What kind of content outside of Japan are your Japanese viewers looking for? Maybe those of us outside of Japan can help give insight on whats happening.

Aww awesome <3
I think the Good Smile Video IS the first time I've heard you voice. I always imagined you to have the voice of a voice over man for a movie for some reason ha ha. Indeed your Brit accent is all but gone, and you have a fairly international accent - very neutral, with bits and pieces showing from different regions.

Wow Danny, you've been quite busy lately! The iPhone vid, the Rick Roll vid and the CNN vid. ^^ As for the poll - I like the English site's layout much better. I'm learning Japanese as a hobby, so I have a hard time reading more than 2-3 words without using rikaichan. ^^; I'd occassionally read some articles on it though.

Ah... Doala is super funny and popular on Nico Nico Douga, the mascot crazy antics like getting beat up by a opposing team baseball player makes you want to feel sympathy. Reminds of the Philadelphia Phillies mascot "Phillie Phantic" in Professional American Baseball.

"Any baseball fans here?"

*raises hand* I like the San Diego Padres, they are my home team. In Japan, I saw a lot of caps related to the Yomiuri Giants, but many posters and flags related to the Hanshin Tigers. I even bought a cellphone charm of the Hanshin Tigers. I consider myself a Hanshin supporter.

Nice pictures, I love the English Layout and I hate Baseball, the only sport that make me don't understand anything ! Soccer with Zinedine Zidane are better than this kind of sport.

Yes, Danny you're right, what you said was a bit too simplistic :P. It's still true though ^^.
