The summer season of Anime has started and the first one out of the bunch on my watch list is Sekirei.
The story starts off seeing the main guy Minato Sahashi failing his exams twice. As you can imagine, he is down in the dumps and not sure what to do - but that all changes when suddenly a girl falls out of the sky and lands on him - nothing unusual as we know this happens all the time.
The girls name is Musubi who is under attack by two unknown women who have the ability to shoot bolts of lightning out of their hands. A bolt lands nearby and sends Musubi and Sahashi flying - Musubi lands squashing her huuuuge eyes in Sahashi's face.

Musubi grabs Sahashi and runs - Sahashi blacks out and awakes to find Musubi in his apartment wearing nothing but a pair of pantsu and a white shirt - nothing unusual here either as we know that happens *all* the time.
Musubi has nowhere to live and asks Sahashi if she can stay with him. Sahashi's answer is obviously "yes."
The story continues to reveal that Sahashi is Musubi's "Ashikabi" - together they will become partners and battle against the 108 warriors who I guess we will see in this 12 episode series.
The animation is pretty good and the Musubi-chan is lovely. I'm all of a sudden wanting Musubi figures ^^;
Have not read the manga at all but will probably start to pick it up and add to my current ecchi manga reading time - To Love Ru and Maken-ki.
The beginning of the show starts off with a load of soldier-types being slaughtered and sets the mood off to a solemn start - but the mood changes quickly to be filled with a load of bouncy eyes and pantsu shots.
Due to a serious lack of time, my anime watch list has whittled down to Code Geass, Macross Frontier and To Love Ru - will for certain be increasing that by one with Zero no Tsukaima season 3 and want to test out Tetsuwan birdy, Hidamari and Strike Witches. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting right now.
Folks who read Japanese can keep an eye on the weekly anime show schedules here.
How many anime shows do you have on your watch list at any one time? Does your list include older anime shows? I still have Chobits on my list which I try to catch up on when I have time.
Sekirei Trailer below.
Will Sekirei be going on your watch list?

Ha. The impetus for the plot, as you describe it, sounds eerily similar to another series you like, so no kidding about it happening all the time.

Sekirei is pretty much the only "must watch" show on my list this season.

I watched the first ep raw and it looks like it's following the manga pretty closely. The OP also gives a few hints as to where they will reach (or pass), plotwise. But I have some reservations about the choice of VAs for some of the roles.
I think Musubi should sound more airheaded. She is supposed to be rather thick in the manga afterall.

And Goddess, I mean, Tsukiumi is being voiced by Marina Inoue, who is best known for little boy roles. She also did Kana in Minami-ke and Yoko in gurren lagann, but neither of those voices seem to fit the Tsundere character type like tsukiumi. I also don't know how she will handle Tsukiumis mood swings but I'll keep an open mind. Either way, I'll watch this even if it sucks because the manga was good fun. and some of the later characters are great, esp Tsukiumi (yes, I really like her!)

I really want to watch this. Not a complete fan of overly huge boobs, but this girl is just so cute. Plus, I need to keep the ecchi-content in my collection up too ^^.
I have way too much on the watchlist at the moment; not only new shows like Sekirei, Soul Eater and what not, but also the rest of my collection which now totals over 200! Based on the sheet in which I keep track, it'll take me at least 3 more years to watch everything...

Hmm, there's lil bit difference here and there between Sekirei's manga and anime. The ecchiness do seems to be reduced by a lot, and for ep 1, they did skip some chapter from the manga...

And it's been a long time I don't commit to watching a series, so I kinda went over the edge today.

Just finished watching Bokurano in one shot. Started the series midnight... (thinking of watching a couple of episodes only to check it out) and just watched the last episode. It's 10:20 am here. Yup, it's this good.

Every now and then I get to watch animes like that, which completely reminds me why I became addited in the first place.

Is it just me or does Minato remind you L from Death Note? He even has the white, long-sleeved shirt ^^;
Not on my watch list, my brother said it has excessive fan-service which I'm not really interested in. He also found the manga a little boring, so I think I'll give this one a miss.

Not sure what to make of the first episode. The fanservice is there of course, and while as blatant as To Love-Ru, it seems to be far more tolerable for me. For now anyway.

I need an excel spreadsheet to help keep track of my anime watching schedule. Of course it's chuck full of stuff that I want to watch, currently watching and have but haven't gotten around to watching yet. That's a lot of stuff to keep track of. I figured the latest season of Ikkitousen would also be on you watch list as well. Both are on my watch list.

They actually manage to adapt the manga in well manner with a good animation, and a decent seiyuu cast (exept for the protagonist) i'm hope for the Kazehana entrance for hear Yukana in action.

I was looking for less but after read the manga i can continue seeing this

I think the first eps. was done really well. The voice acting was very well done as well and I hope they keep the pace for the anime high. Get the manga when you can, it is really good but remember you'll be ahead if you do read it.
