Maid related services in L.A.? Never. The ideas that continue to grow in Japan that surround anime & otaku would never come true. I'm not sure if it's because people are scared or because th ideas would be rejected. L.A. is ful of mixed interests anyway. And my dry cleaners is a plain dry cleaners on the corner of 5th and Spring in Downtown L.A. I can't even stand being inside for too long. The dry cleaners in these pictures make me wanna live there. :p
aren't there a maid cafe in LA just stared a month ago??? call Royal/T Cafe in Culver City L.A http://www.royal-t.org
Maid services here? Never =(. Although we as part of the manga/anime/figure/2D/etc. etc. community probably have a largely different picture of what a maid is (should be) like. If the girls are cute though, I'd definitely want one to open here, but I guess that'll only happen in the farfetched opposite world.
Maid service LOL , First time i see this but maids sure looks so cute ^^
There are a few maid cafes here, I think... Never really been to any of them... LOL, you got me there for a second... Lock you up and a locker and pour wax on your dolphin, that sounds more like torture than anything else...
next will be maid swiming instructors
I Will be the first to go take photos if that happens.
how about maid dolphin instructors?? eh? (ok that might be a bit too far)
Would really love that! ^.^ *Grin*
Maid services? I wish. This is just going a bit too far, but I still like the idea.
Considerable service i must say, as they didnt attempt to ripoff customers with massive extra fees for maids. There one Meido Kissa in Penang, MY, but thats just waitress wearing maid outfit. No 'Irashaimasen goshujin-sama' (╬ ಠ益ಠ) IMO, this kind of stuff is best leave it in Japan, as it wont really work outside Japan.
That's kinda far still.. Wish they had one here in KL though.
Maid-cosplay dry cleaning here? Oh, Danny, you jester you. You'll be lucky if the woman taking the dry cleaning isn't some mature woman in her 40s. In any case, the concept of maid here is very different from the one in Japan. We have Filipino or Indonesian petit women serving as household cleaners and baby-sitters. And sometimes, the maids here get lousy employers where they get shouted at, locked in the house without food and such. Otaku maids represent a fantasy, which is why I don't see the idea being exported to other countries much. We have a maid cafe here, though, I think.
Still no maid cafes nor anything of the like in Taibei (that I've come across), but I don't spend too much time downtown, and moreover I haven't been looking.
guh....Australia ;_;
It would be damn lucky to even found a maid that cute in a store, working, here in Singapore >_< There's a Maid Cafe here in Singapore, but I've never been there =/
I wish, I need a new job...
maid service in miami? well with enough money... but for normal folk, no maids here =/
Thats my future job XD
Sadly, no maid services around here. It's disappointing really.
no maid services around here too. but then again, there are no girls that moe enough
you need to use your imagination dude LOL
Well if someone tried to open a Maid Cafe in the US I'm sure that the radical feminist would throw a fit. And, protests are rarely good for business in the long run. Now if I remember right some of the anime cons have set up temporary maid/cosplay cafes. That's about the most we will see for maid in the US.
oooooooooo....kakoii
umm hey guys first comment but have you guys heard of ROYAL/T? Its a cos cafe in CA http://www.royal-t.org/
Holy crap. Thanks for the info. How could i let this slip under my radar? I had no idea. Now i'm eager to check it out this week. And what better place than Culver City. I like that part of Culver City, it's all artistic. Thanks again. :)
Holy Crap on a Triscuit. How the heack did this sneek in under the radar. Too bad I live 10 hours away and gas in 4.30 a gallon or I would head down there.
Sucks to be you. :p I'll check this out next week after i see the dentist for my root canal. I want to enjoy my first visit without any random oral pain. :p
Thx for telling how CHEAP gas is in the States! Did some calculating: In Germany 1 gallon would cost 9,06 $. But nevertheless i wouldn´t drive that far 2...what a pity for u
My monthly $24 bus pass sticker replaces $100's worth of gas a month. :p So i don't have to worry about gas.
OMG......i live only ten minutes away....where the hell was I? How could I not know....
WHOAH! Thanks!
Last I heard, there was a maid cafe in Penang, Malaysia. But I've never been there. Considering the number of anime fans concentrated in Klang Valley, I'm surprised a maid cafe hasn't been set up.
That dress looks like it is mainly made of polyester. The poor girl must be sweating a lot in it on hot days.
Oh and no, we don't have any maid cafes here and I have no problem with that.
Okay, the maid business sure is getting bigger in Japan... Here, not so much...
no maid cafe here! it wouldn't work anyway since majority of population hardly knows about anime.
kawaii! love that large bow on the maid's hair XD maybe I should make one for myself LOL
maids in sngapore works long hours with only 1 day off each month. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/344530/1/.html
that maid and our "maid" are totally different don't you think.
despite our maids being imports, some are pretty nosebleed material. However, there are minority which are higurashi material. cases of "nice boat" have occurred before.
Nope, no maids here; heck there aren't even many drycleaners around here...
Otaku business mind applicability.. Hmmm, seems like just about everything can be otaku flavoured.
It never cease to amaze me with the new ideas they keep come up at Akihabara. I wonder how far will they go o_O?
No maids here :'(. I know that my room would be so clean if there were. :D
No Maid related Business here. I think there will never be any, since when somebody would try to start something like this some feminists would make a riot and demonstrate against it infront of the shop with sings like "Is that what we fought for?" or "Like back in the Middle Ages..." and the TV coverage would lead to debates about how "Stores try to downgrade the role of women in contemporary society"... or maybe not, but i can really imagine it.
I don't think there is a single maid in Sweden, except for the cosplayers. Which is boring, as maids are awesome. ^^-b
There was one in Bangkok. But it was closed due to a certain situation... Anyway, here, you can see many maids in cosplay, comic events' snack corners. But they come with very plain but expensive snacks&drinks lol
The closest thing we got was a mediocre maid cafe, and it closed down >_>
Wow! This is going on the visit list
A (lame) anime store here has a (lame) maid cafe just to say they have one. The girls are nothing special and all they have is a cruddy looking couch...no cafe at all. It is sooooo stupid I can't even express how stupid it is...
No maid laundry in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada >_< Although putting it in the Plaza across from the University would definitely be good for business since there are so many engineer/cs students
All these maid things... I wonder, how do they hire people for these jobs? I mean, wouldn't they have to hire based a lot on attractiveness, eye size, etc? Isn't that illegal or something? >_>
None here. And I don't think it will click either. Just not enough otakus to support the business. Wish there was a locker rental business in my region as well. I could think of a lot of ways to use that.
Unfortunately, I don't know any of these services, but this is a really great idea. I would really like to open one of these businesses. XD And we don't have to gather point here like in the Maid Cafe? Personally I really like this business, like to see it in live.
Lockers in a dry cleaning huh? Reminds of that line from Terminator: "Laundry day. No clothes. Right."
Is expensive, but, i think is more cause everything looks expensive in japan We have a nice try of maid cafe in Monterrey, but the way to get the same service is a long way to walk
No maid service here, should gather some girls and start one...
Maid service in Greece? Mwahahaha!!! ^0^ You can see many topless girls in beaches, but maids...definitely not!
There was this one that used to be on the ground floor of a senior citizen residence around my area...but I'm not sure what the status of it is now. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to go.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but they recently (last month?) opened the first maid cafe in the U.S.! I actually went by, and the maids were there, but the cafe wasn't open yet (they gave us free ice coffees though :)). It's supposed to be based on Japanese maid cafes, but it also has an art gallery space. I wrote about it on my blog: http://animesearchsite.com/?p=17
The only meido service that I know of here is the local Manga Kissaten near my place and that's it. ^^;;;
Maid services are very few here, even there no store with that kind of girls in that suit. I could open a maid cofee here. That's been the first. That's all...bye
I don't even know we have a maid cafe in Canada!!! (Oo.
Totally jealous, even if it is just a dry cleaning service. We have nothing like that here in our USA city, and prolly no where for a good long drive. Not to be a smartass on the subject, but we do have a maid service here called "maids on wheels" and I highly doubt they wear the uniform, much less someting remotely cute.
maid services here-no. Even if there were, there just wouldn't be any girls to fit the "moe" likeness. Meido cleaning services is exclusively Japanese idea, so it would never work here.
Im fascinated by the maids, school girls and cat girl related businesses! They're so adorable :3 There's a maid cafe in Toronto, but that's the only one of know of in that area.
I wish there was something maid related here in Princeton, but no luck. That's what trips to Japan are for.
TOO CUTE~ I think I should start up a maid girl laundromat in my area. I have a feeling it would be PRETTY popular. *snicker*
