Maid Dry Cleaning

The otaku business mind continues to show us more maid monetization opportunities. This time its Maid Dry Cleaning and Locker Service.
NTK System was just a bog standard dry cleaners and locker rental place in Akihabara until they decided to have maids serve their customers.
Prices for dry cleaning don't differ much from other places but you get a maid thrown in so it must be value for money - especially when they pose like this for customers.
Apart from the Dry Cleaning, they also have a locker service where they lock you up for 3 days without food or clothes for a bargain price of 3,450 yen. They would occasionally show up and pour hot wax on your dolphin.
OK, I'm only jesting. They actually provide lockers for you to keep stuff in. Although there are coin lockers at Akihabara station, you may want to pay the same price for a locker and have the maid thrown in. They provide hourly lockers at 200 yen per hour and also monthly lockers for the otaku who has something to hide from the rest of the family.

The lockers range from 3,000 yen per month for a W:270 × D:310 × H:168 sized locker or 13,000 yen for a W:420 × D:475 × H:890 sized locker - may be able to fit a Candy Girl inside. Full price list at NT System.

If you are convinced that this service is for you then walk along Chuo Dori in Akihabara until you see this entrance. Photos and coverage by AkibaMap.

I know there are maid cafes in Shanghai, Canada and Thai but am interested to know if there are maid cafes or other maid related businesses in your region.

Maid related services in L.A.? Never.

The ideas that continue to grow in Japan that surround anime & otaku would never come true. I'm not sure if it's because people are scared or because th ideas would be rejected. L.A. is ful of mixed interests anyway.

And my dry cleaners is a plain dry cleaners on the corner of 5th and Spring in Downtown L.A. I can't even stand being inside for too long. The dry cleaners in these pictures make me wanna live there. :p

Maid services here? Never =(.

Although we as part of the manga/anime/figure/2D/etc. etc. community probably have a largely different picture of what a maid is (should be) like.

If the girls are cute though, I'd definitely want one to open here, but I guess that'll only happen in the farfetched opposite world.

Considerable service i must say, as they didnt attempt to ripoff customers with massive extra fees for maids.

There one Meido Kissa in Penang, MY, but thats just waitress wearing maid outfit. No 'Irashaimasen goshujin-sama' (╬ ಠ益ಠ)

IMO, this kind of stuff is best leave it in Japan, as it wont really work outside Japan.

Maid-cosplay dry cleaning here? Oh, Danny, you jester you.

You'll be lucky if the woman taking the dry cleaning isn't some mature woman in her 40s.

In any case, the concept of maid here is very different from the one in Japan. We have Filipino or Indonesian petit women serving as household cleaners and baby-sitters. And sometimes, the maids here get lousy employers where they get shouted at, locked in the house without food and such.

Otaku maids represent a fantasy, which is why I don't see the idea being exported to other countries much. We have a maid cafe here, though, I think.

Well if someone tried to open a Maid Cafe in the US I'm sure that the radical feminist would throw a fit. And, protests are rarely good for business in the long run.

Now if I remember right some of the anime cons have set up temporary maid/cosplay cafes. That's about the most we will see for maid in the US.

Considering the number of anime fans concentrated in Klang Valley, I'm surprised a maid cafe hasn't been set up.

No Maid related Business here. I think there will never be any, since when somebody would try to start something like this some feminists would make a riot and demonstrate against it infront of the shop with sings like "Is that what we fought for?" or "Like back in the Middle Ages..." and the TV coverage would lead to debates about how "Stores try to downgrade the role of women in contemporary society"... or maybe not, but i can really imagine it.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but they recently (last month?) opened the first maid cafe in the U.S.! I actually went by, and the maids were there, but the cafe wasn't open yet (they gave us free ice coffees though :)). It's supposed to be based on Japanese maid cafes, but it also has an art gallery space.

Totally jealous, even if it is just a dry cleaning service. We have nothing like that here in our USA city, and prolly no where for a good long drive. Not to be a smartass on the subject, but we do have a maid service here called "maids on wheels" and I highly doubt they wear the uniform, much less someting remotely cute.
