Hello! My name is Haruhi and I'm the first guest writer on dannychoo.com. Danny is down with jetlag so I will take over for today.
I went with Danny to Germany to see the sights and have good food - lots of it ^o^
Yummy frankfurters. We have these in Japan but they come in plastic bags and not jars.
Lots of nice drinks in Germany.
The biscuits are lovely.
Me in Hohenschwangau.
Japan is lacking in good pastry orz.
Fresh fruit drinks.
More pastry.
Asian type foods.
Lunch at Berlin station.
Ah, I think this was posted before ^^;
Even more psatry.
And more...
The sandwiches taste great too.
The yogurt drinks taste so good.
Breakfast in Hotel lounge = 26 Euros.
Breakfast in the park with lovely view, sandwich n milk = 3 Euros.
Jacket potato filled with everything.
I suppose it does look like vomit but tastes great.
Meat stuffs.
How I miss having Fish Fingers back in the UK - non in Japan orz. Haruhi was born and raised in the UK.
Maggi mixes - non in Japan either.
Remember having a ton of tin soups back in the UK too.
Brekkie on the train.
A stall selling sweets which dont look edible.
Smoked salmon.
Me in Hohenschwangau near the lake.
Time for more lunch.
Mushrooms in garlic.
Nice lady wondering why we are taking pics instead of buying.
By Hohenschwangau lake.
Fillit O chicken n fries. The fries in Germany are awesome. Does my writing style sound like Danny?
Atashi kawaii?
Lump O chicken in gravy.
White asparagus costs a bomb in Japan.
Unlike Tokyo, you will find many tables and chairs out in the open outside restaurants.
Veggie soup. I found that the cost of eating out in Germany cost an average of 15 euros to 20 euros per meal compared to an average of 1,000 yen to 1,500 yen in Japan - much more expensive to eat in Germany ^^; Could be because of the weak yen though.
Whats the average cost of a meal in your region?
Lump O potatoes.
Does it look like I'm sticking up my middle finger in this photo?
Taking a break from all the meat n potatoes with some salad.
Hot cocoa n slices of meat for brekkie.
Inside Neuschwanstein Castle.
On the lake in a row boat. I got Danny to do all the paddling.
More frankfurter n fries.
Some sort of ball type dessert.
Looks yummy but tastes...not so yummy.
The worst worst "Chinese" food I have ever ever ever tasted in my entire life.
More hotel brekkie.
And more hotel brekkie.
Fries and frankfurter for lunch.
Everywhere I travel I always get some milk. I think I've mentioned before but they say that folks who like milk also like eyes.
Do not eat dogs.
This drink was just so yummy - coconut n pistachio flavored.
About to get some grub.
Chicken, fries n salad.
Some last minute shopping.
Brekkie before we left Germany.
Sushibox suki.
Lunch at Frankfurt airport.
Bangers n mash.
We loved the food in Germany and wish some of it was available in Japan. I've seen some German restaurants here but not that many.

Nice pictures, but i'm afraid you missed the best food here in germany ^^
Spiessbraten mit Pommes Frites, Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln, Kasseler mit Kartoffelbrei und Sauerkraut. Falscher Hase mit Semmelknödeln.

Go and search for a translation *G*

The prices vary from restaurant to restaurant. Pretty normal if you ask me ;)
still you can count on 15€ and up for a full meal with drink and stuff :/

And that Maggi-stuff is evil, so many flavour enhancements that it's not even funny anymore :(

No, no, this:

and MSG stands for MonoSodium Glutamate (food flavor enhancer)

Hey, haruhi if you think the food is great in Germany you should try eating in Portugal. You would be very happy.

And you can even bring danny if you want, but i'll only pay your restaurant bill.

Indeed, our cuisine is the best, every foreigner that comes here gets delighted with our food ^^. Is it me or in those pastry picture are "pasteis de nata" typical portuguese pastry.

Over here it's pretty hard to find a Portuguese restaurant. I know there's one in Hamburg but I don't know if there's another one at all.

Yeah, the food there was delicious. :-)

I guess the food in Germany is better than in The Netherlands :( I think I saw some weisswurst on that picture of the BBQ though... bad, bad Haruhi.

Some of the pictures are really artistic, way to go! You could use another Haruhi figure for a change sometimes though.

You never BBQ a Weißwurst. You always cook it in boiling water. No wonder you don't like Weißwurst if you prepare it the wrong way^^

The food in Germany looks really yummy, Danny... uh, I mean Haruhi! >.<

Love to try a lot of the stuff shown and I guess a few are similar to the food available here in Australia. Not that pistachio and coconut (love coconut) drink though.

Gotta love these posts and pics about foodies!!

Germany looks like it has the yummiest pastries, no offense Japan~

LOL Danny you had to do the paddling? Did you have a game of janken to decide who paddled?

I think the costs for prepared food in Japan are probably amongst the lowest in the developed world - couldn't get meals like that in the UK at a reasonable cost.
The only thing I really miss about European food is the affordable price of amazing cheeses...

You know how you take your Figma Haruhi everywhere you go Danny? What would you do if say, when posing her on the side of the boat (pictured above), she fell into the water? Would you dive in after her? or just wait till you return to Japan and purchase another one? xD

Now i feel like rambling truh all the food booths i can spot on the street... didn't have lunch yet... work...
*starve*
I agree with Blackster that you missed out on some great food though. ;)
But i guess a week isn't just enough, also food isn't everything... seriously i won't miss anything if i go to Tokyo... then again i prolly see myself kickin my own ass for saying that once i am in Tokyo huh... hmmm!
Maybe i would end up cooking more myself to have "german food" as long as they have most of the groceries. ^^v
Great Haruhi pics by the way... the one on the boat... i would have been hella afraid that she could drop into the water and sunk... :(
Also i'm still afraid to move my little Haruhi, just sooo delicate joints ... afraid to break them. x_X;;
I need to train a bit figma posing... ^^;

Haha, i thought Maggi was Malaysia's brand all these years! Maggi was very popular in Malaysia;many Malaysian called instant noodle "Maggi" (proof of Maggi popularity here)

I hijack this from Wiki :p

Maggi is a Nestlé brand of instant soups, stocks, ketchups and instant noodles. The alimentary company came into existence in 1872 in Switzerland, when Julius Maggi took over his father's mill.

No Maggi is not a Malaysian brand :p

wow, they seem to have raised prices quite a bit lately. groceries are still quite cheap thou afaik (in germany).
not so much in my country... but restaurants are equally expensive, surprisingly. maybe you just went to the wrong places with danny. tourist locations are always more expensive. :)
