So there are a few cyborg girl stories knocking around which have been setting the ronery otaku heart alight at the prospect of being able to one day lurve a girl of their dreams. Theres Yuria from Yuria Type 100, the lovely Chii from Chobits, Silfa from ToHeart2 etc.
But are there not any stories where there are robot boys for the ronery girls?

There is and its called Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏] meaning "Absolute Boyfriend."
Zettai Kareshi was (is) originally a Shojo Manga and has been given the manga-to-drama treatment just like just about all the dramas and anime these days.
Zettai Kareshi stars nice boy Hayami Mokomichi as the cyborg called Tenjo Knight who has been programmed to be the perfect boyfriend for cutie Aibu Saki who plays Riiko - a temp staff working at a cake manufacturer.
Riiko goes along to cyborg manufacturer Kronos Heaven and fills out a hilarious form which asks her multiple choice questions to determine what her perfect boyfriend should be like.
Riiko was under the impression however that she was going to be introduced to a real human until one day a huge box appears on her doorstep containing her perfect boyfriend...
One of the first things Tenjo Knight says to Riiko is "Ecchi shiyou ka?" or "lets do hanky panky."
These screen caps are from the first EP which went on air this week so you should be able to easily get hold of it through your (open) sources.
Throughly enjoyed the first episode and want more but will have to wait until next Tuesdays 9PM - Fuji TV. If you liked Chobits then you may enjoy this show too - full O laughs to be had.
First 10 mins of Zettai Kareshi EP1 below and preview for next week here.

It's all in his secondary programming. Once we secretly aquires necessary weapons & resources he'll destroy Tokyo. He'll still make time to 'hanky panky' with Riko though. It's a very touching story.

I read two pages of the manga and baulked.. Chobits was more fun though. The special effects look cool in the dorama but!

Hmm,sounds promising. It's a bit unusual for Ms. Watase's work to go on live action and compressed the stories into 10 ep or more so,though her works translated much into animation.

Oh man >_< I read the english manga from Shojo Beat and I bought the manga when it came out. I was disappointed when it ended and I really like it cause it's funny and awesome but...I'm not happy that it's going to be live-action >_<

I know I can't do anything about it but still...>_> I would want to give it a chance but ...the screenshots and preview, I don't want to now.

It seems they changed it a lot =( The ages and how she gets it and so forth.

I can't get over it. T_T

Wow, they made this series into drama, kind of bold move I think. Wonder when we will see the android in real life? I'm 30 years old now so maybe I can live until I'm 70 years old and that's 2048, would that be enough time for the humanity to develope android?

Let's just say android do become available by year 2048, I would be too old to benefit from it... Cruel future indeed -_-

silly me i didnt make the connection between the manga and this. i never read the manga and always assumed (by the cover art) it was about much younger characters, high school type stuff (which i have nothing against, the art just didnt really grab me). but i definitely will watch this.

I hated the manga, not because of the premise but because of the characters. so I don't think I will be looking forward to this unless the protagonist has more spine that in the manga and the human love interest looks less stalking posesive than the original.

Well I did read the manga and it was pretty Ok. I really liked the writing style, I know Night is just a robot but I'm thinking it's about time that Riiko slept with him. So far I've only watched three of the TV episodes and I like them so far and I'm really looking forward to the rest.
