I wonder if Chaos;Head should be consider "ero" since it's rated 15+. The character designer is Sasaki Mutsumi, he also did the designs for a game called Memories off by Kid. The writer for this game was also a staff from Kid, though now he's under 5pb. Nitro+ has a demo of the 1st chapter on their site. I'm still going through it but it was really interesting so far.

!!! I just saw that nendoroid for the first time at Anime Boston this past weekend. I ended up buying it and love it, but it was quite a hassle getting it on the stand. :[ Took me two attempts to get it right, but now it's sitting up on my shelf with me ebay acquired Lucky Star Fate Cosplay Nendoroids. :D If I can get a camera soon maybe I'll take some pics of the other stuff I bought at the con.

There is actually a non-HCG eroges available in US such as Nitroplus' Phantom of the Inferno and ever17. Just search around for them. Phantom's game is available from therightstuf together with the OVA. I dunno where to get ever17 myself...
Yes! I'll buy eroges in English, in fact it'll be better if they had a language option in the game so I can swop around as I'm learning Japanese now.
@ Subarunyon : I know!!! They're all Hirameki's doing!! Which is AWESOME! I bought Hourglass of Summer off Amazon a while back. And in June last year, I really-REALLY wanted to play ever17, had been waiting ages to play, and I finally got broadband, so I literally spent a whole week dling it on utorrent.... I wanna buy the game. I want it soooo much. But my damn parents won't let me use their credit/debit card to order from sites they dont know much about. :ARRGGGG: Ever17 is a fantastic game. I wish the other games in the series would have got an english translation. And its such a shame that KID went bankrupt... :sob:

Coincidental poll choice, right after I just finished playing Fate/Stay Night and Utawarerumono this week. If these were actually available in english, I would have bought them but I had to use a translation patch on my japanese copies. The state of english language eroge is kinda bad. It seems no company is willing to buy any of the 'good' titles and no wonder they can't seem to expand because of it. I do hear that NitroPlus makes spectacular games though... I really want to try some, but sadly I only really enjoy them if I understand it fully and my japanese skills are lack luster to begin with. Maybe in a few years, but at the moment, I can't handle it. At the moment, I am living on whatever fan translation patches come out. Also, the Blassreiter looks quite good as well. I usually have a quite negative views on 3D animation with 2D, but the movement and action seemed very fluid and more natural. I will have to check that out.

Very nice coverage so far! Yes, I would buy eroge and non-ero visual novels. I have tried some trial versions so far (began with Ever 17) and I love them all. I'd have invested in the ones that have been made into very successful anime series, namely Fate/Stay Night, Kanon and Clannad, etc. I wouldn't even be putting the ero part first, it's the level of interactivity and character development that interest me the most. Now if you asked me if I would be a jerk or a nice guy in those games, I'd be the good guy. Bad ends are not of my taste (and the same goes for reality).

It would be nice if more eroge are translated in English, but unfortunately with the exception of J-List and a handful of titles that Mediablasters/Kitty Media puts out...that's not going to happen any time soon. For the popular titles that everyone wants, it is going to cost more than either company (or newcomer) is willing to spend. This is considering only license fees. Another problem is that for most people who are into eroge, most people are content downloading. The few of you who aren't like that, I don't mean to insult; I speak only for the anonymous horde who rather download torrents and all. Not enough titles available, so people download. When companies try to bring out more titles, not enough get sold despite demand and because many have downloaded and don't want to buy now. It is a vicious cycle, is it not? But cool about Nitro+. I remember a friend of mine worked at a company that thought about licensing Demonbane for release in the US. A shame that probably won't happen now. :/

Interesting, I thought that Nitro+ were pretty much only eroge and merchandise licensing. Didn't know they did music and assorted others. I wish some of their games got translated. Their plots seem so convoluted. I gave up trying to figure out demonbane and Jingai Makyou. tho the demonbane anime was pretty fun, if pointless, done on a shoestring budget and made next to no sense by the end.
