Asobit City

Asobit City is a chain of hobby related stores owned by the Laox group.
There are three Asobit City stores in Akiba - one is Asobit Game, the Asobit Hobby is near Akihabara station and today we are going to spend some time in Asobit Chara City - the store that specializes in character goods.
I usually start off on the 2nd floor where all the Gundam stuff is.
Still have not picked Unicorn Gundam up and wont be until I finish my MG Wing Gundam which is only half finished ^^;
Did anybody get Lancelot? The quality seems a bit crappy.
Stack O Gundam goodies.
Mustn't forgot about the Seed girls.
Geass case for the DS.
HCM Pro stuff.
The Yoko scans...
Case O Gundams.
Wall O Gundams
Was just thinking that its been 4 years since the last PG (Strike Gundam) ...
On the 3rd floor of Asobit Chara you will find all the tokusatsu stuff - Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Sentai series etc.
Case O Ultraman.
Case O Kamen Rider.
Case O Dance Troopers.
The 4th floor is my fave - full O female figurines.
Theres a corner on the 4th floor full of Haruhi stuff - love Mikuru-chan on this jigsaw.
Nendoroid Haruhi.
Figumate Haruhi.
Haruhi dolls.
Looks like the rumor was true and that Tsuruya-san is the most unpopular out of the Haruhi bunch?
Potemayo - never watched. Recommended?
Tora Dora girls.
Shunya Yamashita Petra.
Figma case. Want that Haruhi but don't want the game.
Geass girls.
Dacapo girls.
ToHeart girls.
More ToHeart girlies.
Shining Wind Girlies and Belldandy in the Kotobukiya case.
More stacks of figures.
Case O Nendoroid.
More more stacks O figures.
On the 5th floor of Asobit Chara you will find all the doll related stuff. This Saber is so sweet. Oh and they have cosplay stuff too.
They also have quite a few eroge too.
Eroge mags - thicker than a MacBook Air.
Evening wear.
If you need something scary to put in front of your house to scare cats, pigeons and small children then you can find lots of stuff on the 5th floor.
For folks who want to dress up as a maid/kitten hybrid.
Would look great in the office.
Google has beanbags and wax lamps in their office - Mirai Inc will have dolls and figures ^^;
Oh what large eyes you have.
Fancy some pantsu?
Or how about a set of eyes?
Present for your little nephew?
You know, I bet some folks buy these to stick in their underwear.
Boots. You know I bet some people buy these to stick on their.....

....fingers.
Back on the first floor where you will find games related to character series and some other accessories.
Case O Moetans.
Case O good (right) and bad (that Q-Joy stuff on the left).
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

Why does it pain me to see all those Tsuruya figures sitting unbought. If only I could just go over there and buy 4 or 5.

ROFL! I died at this, because it's so true. I would definitely have to avoid the 5th floor, but I think I will need to spend great amounts of time everywhere else, and bring lots of money. XD

would like to ask.. how do you take photos from these shop most of the time..(or maybe because of your popularity? lol)

it's because i did remember seeing no photography sign within most akihabara shops.. and that's the main reason i didn't any of them though my previous trip.. quite sad though..

Ah..Asobit City..I can seriously recall some of those camera angles in my own browsing when I visited Tokyo for my last week in Japan. In fact, I think I may have stood in front of those cosplay outfits holding up a Haruhi cosplay top.

I REALLY want to buy that Potemayo plushie. The best one of the lot IMO.

I want such awesome shops in germany... thats just NOT fair... *cries*

Reminds me, i need to look for a nice leather case for my NDS tho. :(
With an Anime motive it would be so much much better... i wonder if there are laptop softcases with Anime relaed stuff on it too? Like those neoprene thing i had for my MacBook Pro, that was really awesome - just did lack the anime design! Now i could use something stylish for my PC Laptop... (well i put it as it is in my Japanese High School Bag atm i got from J-List *lovelove*)

I don't know why Tsuruya is unpopular, I think she's the best character lol, fang FTW ^^. Potemayo was a great anime to watch, possibly the best part was Guchuko-chan, they should make a 1/1 scale version of her instead of Potemayo; everyone would buy Guchuko-chan.

GUNDAM!!! ^^

I always heard this shop was filled with lots of goodies. Thanks for the photos Danny. Now I can't wait to have a visit. Most likely I will start out on the 2nd floor and just walk around and look look look. When i stop back the second day then I will spend money. I like to do my shopping that way.

I see the new metal GFF. Wondering if I should get this one as well... It would be nice if they did something new for the metal GFF line.

Oh heck Danny, I just wish I had some extra time to think about building a model. Looking forward to a post on the MG Wing when you get it completed. The colors you want to use should look good.

Oh man, look at all the figures... drool... I've reduced my figure collect down to nothing. I really want to start buying some new ones... Really!? Dolls in the Mirai Inc. office. How will you get work done? ^^; Seriously, that would probably be interesting thing to have in the office. Something one probably doesn't see often.

OMG! YES!! This is my favourite store in the whole of Akihabara!!! I love Gamers, Animate, etc but this store, is my favourite store...simply because it was my saviour. When i went to Akiba, i went everywhere looking for gurren lagann merchandise, and everywhere was either soled out, or just didn't have any. But on my circular tour of Akiba, i was starting to think i would never find anything gurren-lagann related, then i found this store, on walking up to the second floor, and seeing all the mechs, i was like "i must be in luck here, surly" and sure enough, on the second aisle, there it was, a whole section, devoted to gurren lagann, naturally, i was soo happy, i went into overload, and bought everything there was at the time, all the figures they had in stock, t-shirts, mugs, wrist bands, and the trading figure card boxes (x6), i then got to the till and realised, i hadn't checked the prices, btu i didn't care, and it came to a very reasonable 50,000 Yen, i also got a free drill for buying soo much. But now there is soo much more stuff there, soo much more stuff i want and need, especially that Yoko book.

But it is set, i am returning in easter of 2009, so i shall fill up on gurren lagann stuff then ^_^

Hey Danny since you've mentioned ABC I'd need help from you about it.

According to the guide book(s) I had, there was apparently a gunji/military branch of Asobit City in Akihabara, where there's supposed to be discount on every 15th of the month. I've tried to get there twice, but it's always closed. Is that branch is there, or it's moved/gone?

I am not too surprised that there are so many Tsuruya figures compared to the others.

1. the Max Factory Tsuruya just came out.
2. I doubt Max Factory would produce so little figures considering how well the others have sold.

Danny I've checked the ABC website and I'd assume that the gunji stuff are located in ホビーシディ, as there are just 3 shops in Akiba now. Would that assumption be correct? :/

Must buy bag of doll eyes. Don't know when they'll come in handy, but I live by the old "Adventure Game" rule. I pick things up, never knowing what I'll use them for. Then later on, when I find myself in the back room of a mansion fighting for my life, I'll be happy I had those waxed lips. (C'mon, Monkey Island reference!)

I think when you level up dolphin mastery too much in one week, this kind of thing looks rather ridiculous. Then again, if you lay off dolphin mastery for a few days, it starts to all make sense again haha!!
