This week we have another variation on the A Week in Tokyo theme. Today we look at my typical day in Tokyo.

The day is last Tuesday. 630AM. The morning starts off with going through the Internets, writing up posts, checking mail and reading your comments. The table is always messy in the morning ^^;
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
Then its down to check then snail mail - last months cheque from Google for my Adsense earnings arrives.
It only makes sense for me to share my learnings on how I make money online and categorized a few articles under Blogging & Affiliate Tips.

I also have set up Featured Feeds EX for folks to make money through Google Adsense ad placements on this site. If you are interested in Featured feeds - follow the instructions in that article and mail me after at [support at dannychoo dot com] and I will activate your account. Your posts also appear on Otaku.fm too which will also drive more traffic to your site.

I want to share as much traffic and revenue that this site generates and will be adding more features/content to the site so that users can make money or learn to make money online.

I wont be wiring money to users directly however - I'd rather teach people to fish so that they can feed themselves for a lifetime rather than give them 1 fish so that they can feed themselves for a day ^^

The Adsense earnings are much less than my Amazon affiliate earnings though - again the Blogging & Affiliate Tips section has info on making money from Amazons Associate program too.

1030AM. Then its off to Roppongi to meet some folks at a record company - a view from their offices - Roppongi Hills in the background.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
1PM. Then its more meetings over lunch. Met up with some folks from Tokyo University. One of the students has a pic of Miss Tokyo University on his mobile - am due to be meeting up with her in May for an event at Todai [東大]. "Todai" means "Tokyo University" in Japanese.

The restaurant only had these masks to represent the men and womens toilets - I had to think about it for a few seconds before deciding which way to turn ^^;
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
3PM. Then its off to another location in Roppongi for the shooting of this weeks episode of Dance Shuffle with DJ GOW and Nikk.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
Doing quite a bit of filming these days and am thinking that I'll need to get hold of some better equipment.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
4PM. Then its meeting up with two new idols - Rika Kotera [小寺里佳(こてらりか)] on the left and Akane Monma [門馬あかね(もんまあかね)] on the right.
Both are second year high school students.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
Which comes first? Mirai-chans anime, manga, figure or theme song? Find out this year ^^
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
Grabbing a drink before going to the next location. Tommy Lee is great in the BOSS commercials - especially the Akiba one.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
5PM. The next appointment is at Columbia Music. Am working with them on some rather coolsome community stuff at Otorevo.jp.

Being a music company, I occasionally bump into singers in the office - this one is Arisa Tsuji.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
8PM. Then its back home for a bit before the next appointment.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
Grabbing some sashimi for dinner.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
10PM. Then its off by car to Shirokanedai for filming.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
10.30PM. Filming location is an Italian restaurant.

Preparing for filming. For some reason there are figures used in the video.
A Day in Tokyo (click to enlarge)
12AM. My first time as director for a video to be released soon - watch this spot to find out more.

Filming finishes at 3.30AM and get home by 4AM.
Next day has meetings starting at 9AM T-T

Filming stuff is great, and its really addicting ;p

Always new stuff to learn, and you usually meet some interesting people, and get to see some interesting stuff you wouldn't be able to normally.

And is that a steadicam type thing your using? or just a monopod?

Wow you're really busy, you start your day at 630AM and end it at 4AM.. Please don't tell me that it's always like that.

Because, from your story, it seems like your sleep typically lasts only for two and a half hours.. That seems too short to me >_<

Or do you sleep in the noon perhaps stealing some time to sleep during breaks or something? ^^

Filming idols, eating good food, filming more 美人, collecting more figures, かわいい女子高生まった見える、laughing at beleaguered salarymen, and seeing fine J girls on a daily basis. You sir, are my idol, and I shall figure out a good way to emulate you so that I may partake the goodness that is 日本。

You should sleep more =] I know your work is your passion, but constantly overworking your body isn't a good thing.

Online income for me is now about 60% of my current income. By the end of this year it should become about 90-100% I'm not for working for anyone but myself and serving my own customers and site fans. Very awesome to see that $5300 adsense check. It lets me know I can achieve that too. There is far more to do in life than work for a company and have them dictate your life in all aspects.

I don't... but it would be a dream come true, today.
I don't know exactly when, but in the middle of my computer science university course I just changed my mind and decided that I wanted to follow a career on journalism.

And by journalism I mean more of a loose, blogish type of journalism than the strict formal one.

But I still didn't go after it. I graduated in computer science and am not studying and extension on game development... which is also something I wanted to try.

Anyways, I know Danny is like one in a million... maybe billion... but if I could gain half of that paycheck monthly, I think I'd live only from that. XD

Though my lifestyle is kinda costly, I'm still a bachelor... :P

Waking up having a goal in your mind, doing things you want and having the money to get the things you want, are something that most of us want to do in our lives.

And I do wish I can have enough readership so when I get my AdSense it'll be a good income for me in the future...

Hey Choo-san,

If I am incorrect, please accept my apologies. But you sound like you'd like some suggestions as to a new "better" camcorder. As such, here are two suggestions:

Sony HDR-FX1 - technically an oldie now since it's been out for over 4 years, it still has great features and I can recommend it personally because I have used it a LOT. My only complaint with this is the "method" of achieving white balance (it works, it's just not convient and slow if you're shooting while on the move). Otherwise, GREAT clarity, and some seriously good zoom. Sells for about 3000 USD in the U.S., but since you're in Japan and it's a Sony, you might score a lower price.

Canon XL-H1 - This one has gotten some serious raves. I have not had the pleasure of using it, so this is only a recommendation based on what I heard. The biggest problem I see is that the price of this thing varies dramatically, depending on who you get it from. So while I see 3000 USD here and there, theres a lot of them at 5,000 as well. Again, probably a better purchase in Japan.

Hope this helps. Thanks for the great site, and your kindness with teaching us how to make money online. Grin.

Yo Danny -

In terms of cameras , go for the Canon XL H1. It has the possibilty to change the lenses, meaning you can put a standard, super nice 35mm lens on there. Just finished working on an IBM commercial in London that used this exact set-up. Camera goes for about $6,000. Totally worth it. Just dont buy figures for a while.

I've monetized my website as well, but my AdSense check has two less 0's on it compared to yours :-(

I sell software from my website though, which brings in a lot more revenue than AdSense.

I tried Amazon associates as well, but it struggles to make more than a few $'s a year.
