Forgot to report December stats which was just a little bit lower than November due to the holidays but January has been the best month for dannychoo.com ever - thanks to all of you.
January served just over 11 million page views (11,376,356) to an average of 62,996 unique daily users (up from 57,842 last month). The monthly unique users amounted to an accumulative total of 1.9 million visitors (1,952,901).

A few thousand members have signed up since November and I notice that we now have many female readers amongst us - hope you are not minding the "occasional" ero content ^^;

Referrers who drove thousands of visitors to the site were... And many many many thanks to everybody else and my Featured Feed partners who drove traffic to the site - you can discover news from Featured Feed member blogs at Otaku.fm. Featured Feeds was set up to give back to the community - the traffic that flows to this site must be shared with fellow otaku.

Would also like to say a big thank you to my online partners who also play a big art in making dannychoo.com possible - a message from each partner below (in alphabetical order.)

I think there is a hamster in a wheel that turns gears inside a Linux box that she feeds daily while regulating it's temperature with liquid nitrogen. Or something like that...

At OtakuFuel, International customers are welcome, and can enjoy automated calculation of shipping charges as well as checkout. We also give free shipping for domestic (USA) orders over $99 and free mystery gifts for domestic (USA) orders over $20.

Being fans ourselves, we've really made it our mission to be a store that caters to fans. Please hit us up and give us a shout in your order notes if you found us on Danny's site!

Congrats Danny. I'm one of the newcombers (starting reading in December) and one reason why I am really enjoying your site is not only do you inform us of what's currently going on and cool in Japan, but you also teach us about the culture and a couple of phrases here and there.

Keep up the great work and I'll do my part by continually checking out the site on a daily basis!

Simply amazing numbers, I just dropped my jaw...  But I gotta admit that that many people are visiting because you have such a great site with full of great contents which gets updated daily basis.  I can't believe I did not know about this place until recently but now I know and this site keeps me 'sane' between my visits to Japan with the fresh Akihabara and other great Japan news(I can only visit Japan during Comiket season) ^^;

Also, I think it would be nice if you have more content that's catered to the female readers of the site especially with the news section :D There's a whole lot of male oriented news there lately. Not that I'm complaining though. News catered to female readers just seem a bit lacking that's all. ^^

All,
Thanks for the kind words and also great to see many female readers too.

Pyramid_Head,
Will have a look into it. nav 2.0 currently automatically bans members who use a certain amount of keywords in their posts. If Hendrik done a lot of swearing then maybe he was banned. Algorythm is set up so that members who have been signed up for longer take a while to be banned.

KCA,
Yes sir!

Bele,
Understand and will think of something.

Pong 94,
Thanks for the link ^^

lately, before i got "banned" i do quite a lot of swearing ^^ (the haruhi olympic thingy)

but is nav2.0 suppose to ban the link too? 'cause i can't use the notebook i was using for swearing to get into your site

Speaking of attracting visitors, what is the critical mass required before people automatically know your site?

I'm always happy to see your site grow. Always wish you all the best and a long life. Can't wait to join you as a top blogger in Japan one day soon.

Nice to see more female members now. All we need is more Japanese members. I know there are quite a few now. Guess it would help if those of us who know Nihongo use it more.

In regard to the female user (me included) I must say Danny: keep the site exactly how it is!

If we (I) am here is because I think the site is has good as it was.
