(Stargate warping sounds end).
How did you spend your new years eve? While the rest of Tokyo was empty due to all the folks going back to the sticks to see their family, Tokyo Big Sight was like another planet.

Got quite a bit to cover so will split everything up in sections - dakimakura, figures, enterprise, itasha and some items will be posted as news items so keep an eye on that section or subscribe to it.
First up is are the dakimakura, sheets, pillows or anything printed on soft material that you can use to #$%"`+@.@!& without causing permanent damage to your &"%#$#@.@T&T.

The really cute stuff were the Pia Carrot and ToHeart dakimakura and sheets - yum.

Not going to cover each of these items as there are a bit to many but I know there are a few eroge experts members who may be willing to help out with questions.

This report is being brought to you together with Akihabara News.

Sorry Danny, but it's still New Years Eve here in the states but we're countin' down. The Star Gate still hasn't completely let us loose yet. ^^

But 120 USD is probably my LEAST amount if I was gonna spend it on dakimakura sheets. ^^

Im just not into Dakimakura. I honestly wouldnt even pay $20 for one. I can appreciate the artwork, but thats about it. Id rather sleep with a 3D girl, plus mine is cuter than this girls are!

Wish I had some. Actually I can afford one or two, but that would take a good amount out of my budget.

Still new year's eve here in NYC. I have a race at 11:30. So yeah...that'll start the year if I break my record.

Since $80 dollars is only £40 right now I think I'd pay that. I think I'd prefer a duvet cover to the Dakimakura though. Even if you can hug the pillow, the duvet cover is cooler in my oppinion.

1st comment of 2008! Happy New Year! Well nobody asked me out so I went to watch the fireworks and took some lousy photos instead. (>.

Can Danny or anyone explain to me, why is dakimakura so darn expensive? Its just some prints on a cloth/pillowcase. The price can get you 2 to 3 pvc figures.

e-jump,
Will ask a friend who makes them. For now Im guessing that the unit cost is high because they don't print that many.
Or because otaku seem to be buying them at these prices anyway ^^;

Wow, Danny you spent your Christmas being surrounded by cute girls... I'm so envious! And the poll question, is there a $0? This is for those like me who still live with their parents and would have their dakimakura burnt if found by them...

So "soft looking" ;p. I got home with no traffic lol, the roads weren't crowded but not quite empty either. It will probably get congested as New Year's comes closer and everyone heads downtown to celebrate. I myself am going to pop fireworks then play some games afterwards.

Yay! I always like seeing dakimakura covers.

I often pay $80-$120 for a cover, so it's nice to see what's possibly coming down the ladder in the future.

I would spend as much as I could for that.
Lucky (and unlucky) me, I am far far away from dakimakuras, figures and other stuff. Like as in on the other side of the planet.

But I dunno... I think that probably dakimakuras would spoil my sleep more than anything... if you know what I mean.

May get them after some time I start working full time.

i will really love to have a mousepad with pop up eyes as seen in one of the pics above. can't seems to find them anywhere in singapore >_<

anyway as for the poll question, US60 is too much, i guess i'll spend US30 if i were to buy any dakimakura.

but although i will love to own one, my mum will surely object to it. don't want her to think i'm some sort of pervert. ('~')

Can't drool while hugging a pillow anyway... Sorry, not my fetish.

That was a *long* warp.

I would pay a lot, but
1) I don't know which is my favourite character
2) I don't have the money, or there are other things like figurines that are a higher priority

Business as usual- completing model kits and trying to repair my PC.

The family did have a party and the sister had some friends over- I snuck down in the basement and stole some food- other than that business has been going, and probably will be going on as usual.

Nice dakimakura! I am not into them but the one of Mion (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni) threw me off. Throw a Shion one in there and you "may" have me convinced to buy one. Maybe ^__^.

I love the Lyrical Lyric, Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka and Pastel dakimakuras. I'm quite surprised to see PrincessFrontier dakimakuras! Seems AXL is really pushing their merchandise forward so the sales of their next game will be a big hit. Same goes to Pia Carrot GP's dakimakuras. They look nice! Oh, and one of these is a trap!

Happy new Xmas to all. I considered buying a Daki last year, provided I liked the design on it enough, but I realised this was impractical because of the actual pillow that goes inside it, which has to be bought separately - one would be too bulky to transport home from Japan, and they aren't easy to get in this country! So what I did is buy two cushion covers (Queens' Blade characters!) and once home stuffed them with the inners from two cheap cushions I bought at a discount shop. They make an office chair much more comfortable... I also have a boob mousepad. I love it!
