The World Hobby Festival 17 was held yesterday at Tokyo Big Sight and Tokyo Hunter went to take some great pics for us.

A bit too many photos to go through so I'll let the experts (you) answer any who-is questions.

Only uploaded photos of goodies that have not really been covered before - if you want to see previous events photos then find a ton in the events section.

Some of the following pics have been left uncensored because the nosebleed function requires a manual process that I don't have much time to do today - need to finish some programming and then off to Shin Marunouchi Building for some Christmas evening dining.
Will work on an automated process for the nosebleed function using Image Magick soon.

Will upload the non-female figurine stuff later.
The A week in Tokyo part 5 resumes tomorrow.

Am I the only one that wants every single Yoko (Gurren Lagann) figure they come out with? Those all looked great.

Who knows... maybe I'll even make a purchase one of these days.

Thanks Danny!

I'd pick up Haruhi and the Lucky Star girls since they're relatively "safe" and to keep out and easy to explain. I uh, *ahem*, won't mention the others that I'd have to keep hidden away.

Ron,
LOL. For each photo there is an entry in the database. I set a flag called "IsCensored" which will call ImageMagick to dim the photo so that you cant see the B Chiku. Or I can get ImageMagick to put a mosaic over the image - then save it so that this process is only done once.
The original image will be protected by a script which checks if a member is logged in. Something like that.

Konata, Kagami, Miku, and Barasuishou.. Do want. (Heck, I'd even buy the "stand" they displayed Barasuishou on)
Want others too, but I have no idea who they are.

The Yuki figurine looked a little weird though.. don't you think? To tell the truth, quite a number of them looked weird as well.. Maybe it's just the lighting of the pictures?

@SY - Yeah, I agree.. some of them DO look too glossy

@QuickFix - Same here! Thanks to you Danny! Banzai~

@Leo - The situation's the same for me here.. Can't get any "explicit" figures ('~')

Sorry for the long comment! Thanks again, Danny, for continually keeping us updated even though you're busy!

Hastune Miku figures!! The Yoko Figure under Konata has a nice expression, and the Gothic Lolita Haruhi/Yuki look nice. The Barasuishou has some very nice coloring to it.

A lot of one string sentence T-T

Yes yes yes!!! There are a few at the end that I like and I will have a very difficult time deciding which Yoko figure I want. A girl with a gun is one thing- with a sniper rifle- another.

THANK YOU for the coverage! I will need to hunt some of these down when I get money and they become available.

To this day, ive still not seen a figure that has amazed me as much as mirei-san!

Also, agree with AndyH. That strappy, pigtail chick that looks like she might be on rollerblades. Don't know what character that is, but I likey.

Wow. Lots of ero versions of well-known characters. I like certain figures, namely the Lucky Star and Fate/Stay Night ones (Sakura can be "wow!" sometimes!), but also the lingerie girl (hmmm, satin).

The two last pictures (Pixies) spooked me though. They look so tired.
Say, is it Kanu there?! Bondage?!! Never thought she'd suffer that kind of treatment.

It seems to become a trend to have a glossy finish on figures at convention. I actually don't like it, as it has an unnatural look to it, but fortunately this glossy finish usually not present on the actual figure (I think/hope).

I love the blood splatter on that one figure, it's quite a unique touch.
Need to watch some Gurren Laggan, quite nice figure ;p
That first Konata figure disappointed me. The second one on the other hand, is much better and Kagami looks very good too.
The Hidamari Sketch figures are also not that good...
Chun Li has got quite the muscles ;p
Oh, that seems to be a new figure from Black Lagoon, the army maid (Rosetta?). Wish they could make another figure of Revy ^^; (I should look for that previous figure again...).

All the rest, very good figures & pictures ;p

Wow, some great looking stuff at this show.

Wouldn't mind having the Haruhi and Yuki figures.
Finally some good looking figures from Lucky Star too.
I like the high gloss look on many of the figures. It cam be a pain to achieve but lends to some nice textural feel to some figures.

Trying to resist the urge to buy every figure that catches my eyes.  Need to be more selective... ^^;
