A salary man aged 35 was arrested for kicking a girl aged 17 who was sitting at the entrance of a train carriage.

The girl was babbling with her friend when the salary man told them that they should sit elsewhere. After being ignored, he kicked one of the girls - her face hit the door and she said sayonara to her front teeth.

I've seen girls dressed just as you see in the photo sitting in the middle of the road at times and look like they don't give a toss about where they're sitting.
Do you get this sort of behavior in your region? If you saw these girls, would you have kicked them?

Kicking a girl is by far the lowest thing you could do as a man.

He need a nice job in telling them off but kicking regardless of them moving or not would have been wrong. Probably just move to another corner or thread over the girls carefully if I need to get off the train.

Are those the ganguro girls?

If I were in his shoes, would have been miffed after she turns a deaf ear to the scolding, but kicking her on the head is too harsh a retaliation. I would have tried to find the officer on duty (probably the one who caught the guy kicking the girl) and asked him to tell her off.
my guess is the guy probably had a really bad day at the office, then again it's not really an excuse to kick someone's teeth in.
well on the upside the girl or any of her friends won't be sitting on the entrance of the train anytime soon. now she can sing, "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth".

LOL come one... kicking a person is just wrong... So what if you were ignored once just ask again and add a "please", the person might just move because you're so damn annoying... Singaporeans are really shy(LOL), so they are usually obedient and move if told coz it's embarassing when everyone's looking at you... Here, if you blocked the door you might get fined... Hoho, nobody wants to get fined do they?

He should never have gone that far. He was right in telling her in the first place that she wasn't sitting properly, but with what tone of voice?

Then, he had plenty of options... To ignore her, to call the train or security agents, etc. He should never have been angry about it, to the point of losing control. Especially when you know that adolescents can be a pain in the a**.

When you do your own justice The Punisher style, you're bound to pay a heavy price if you're caught. Well, looks like he screwed up.

Windbell, I feel it's a female gaijin in the picture, but I may be wrong.

Ha, I want to see how long a person sitting in the middle of the street lasts, in Miami, before they get ran over.

I wouldn't of kicked her, or touched her. Probably, just make her feel like shit. Tell her how she has no respect for others. Let her know that when the day comes when she leaves this safe society she grew up in, the world will swallow her whole. Cause people die every day just because they got on someones nerve. That if I were to physically harm her, in any way (slapping, pushing, etc.), that she should be grateful that at-least she didn't lose her life over something so stupid as sitting in the middle of the entrance to a train.

Would she listen, probably not, but if I don't get on the train and say I'll wait for the next once, that moment will stay with her forever. Just as it would if I were to have kicked her. The world isn't always a peaceful place, so show respect. Cause one day you might end up losing the one thing you value the most, just because you thought you deserved special treatment.

By the way, psychological warfare is better, safer and less damaging.
Would violence solve things? For those who responded "I would kick the girl without hesitation", you are probably taking the easiest path, but also the worst.

Now if she doesn't care still, let her pay the ultimate price by hurting herself.

I would be to lazy to even care actually as long as i have my privacy, i dont say that i would go postal on her ass otherwise but there would crying, by words though, no kicks.

But maybe it was good that he pushed her teeth in? what if he would supress it even more and come back with a knife/sword/gun/rifle and then go postal, i mean really postal.

yes, yes i would resort to kicking-- but only IF that it happened in a crowded train in the US. i don't think i'd have the guts to go through with that in Japan. somehow kicking juvenile delinquents seems more justified in the ole US of A.

Ouch! Sucks to be him!...and her... If I was trying to get on a train and there was someone blocking my way I would of first politely asked them to move so people can get through, but if I was to ask in a polite way and was ignored, I owuld of snapped and yell at her. Something among the lines of " HEY! Who the hell do you think you are! You're not alone in this world you know! Now Move! People need to get on! God!" Lol! or maybe this (only in a really bad mood case scenerio): "Get the F**K out of the way you stupid thing! You're in my freaking way! God! You selfish people will get what you deserve one day!" Lolz!! But I would never kick/slap/ use any other kind of physical contact to a person that is not threatening to hit me first. I wonder if the man's gunna go to jail/lose his job/ pay the hospital bill. (^-^)' really sucks to be him... =P

that is outrages that people do this. In Washington DC Metro people sometimes stand on the side of the doors and that prevents people from entering as fast which can be very bad if the doors about to close. I think that girl deserved it, I'm not one for violent actions and maybe he should have not kicked her that hard. However that girl is also at fault as well as people who sit like this and block the doors, after all they are not the only people who are taking metro. :-(

Hell yeah if the law allows kicking. Such ppl are either brainless or they just cannot be bothered(inconsiderate). I had seen some idiots like these sometimes on the train in my country, although I agree tat our guys will give way when asked.

Some similar idiocracy I had seen is to stop and chit chat right in front of the escalator or at the exit the escalator and everyone had to wait for those idiots to notice it and move or do evasive manuevers to dodge them. Its simply putting themselves and others in danger or causing problem for others.

Yeah she appears to be a gaijin (spelling? Im still learning Japanese ^^).

Um... I've never ran into someone this stupid but I wouldn't be suprised. I wont use the blonde cliche here but I personally would have said "excuse me". If she ignored me like she did this gentleman I would have said it a bit louder. Depending on my mood I would either try to find someone on duty or enter another car and brush off the situation.

The gentleman had no right to kick another person, specifically a minor. Maybe Japan is a bit different on manners in that respect however there were alternatives to kicking her.

No I wouldn't kick her just probably, accidentally, step on her.

Sure we get this kind of rude behavior here too. In the middle of the street, trying to walk over you when you open a door, etc. Not just the young ones but also adult who should know better. Rude and inconsiderate people need to be on an island all by themselves.

I seen to come across more young Japanese like this lately. Maybe it's we just remember rude people more... I glared at a couple of young guys on the train one day. They had seen the pregnant woman and chose to steal the seat. Funny part is after a few minutes they got up and bowed to me. ^^; Probably couldn't stand being reprimanded by a gaijin. ^o^

Pull out a gun, and tell them to move out of your way. After they've placed themselves parallel to the door, squirt them with your water gun (gun was fake). Its legal, and shows those wannabe-hippies where they belong; in a seat, or standing.

That or you could walk away, then run back at the door scream out loud. People tend to get scared and move. Of course, the down side of this is you'll be labeled the smart/crazy guy on the train.

Lol in my region they can't actually sit on the floor cause they'd be times the train staffs would patrol the carriages. But in cases they don't move and no staff is around to help there is always a communicator of sorts to the train control station. But so far I haven't seen the need for that cause no one would sit down like that ~_~

I probably wouldn't.... depending on the circunstances.
But even if I ask them politely and they still wouldn't move anyways, I'd probably use another door or try to pass forcibly without "kicking" them.

You know, it's just not worth getting in trouble, or even getting angry at people like that.

But the truth is: If this happened in Brazil, it's likely that someone would toss them out of a moving train.

And I can think of even worse things, being them girls and all.
If they were men, they would get so beaten...

It depends on if she was blocking the way, if not, simply walk around.

If it's a train with a small entrance that only halts for a very short time (subway) not leaving the option to call officials or to engage in extended loud argumentation...
the ankles are easy to very painfully dislocate by "accidentally" stepping on the feet while pushing yourself through.
It should not matter if it's a male or female, maybe using less force on the more fragile.. anything else would be sexist.

As you can see from my name this a all purely hypothetical ^^;

Notice them to move politely, if they simply ignore me NO WAY I KICK THEM, but I force my way inside and I probably "accidentally" step on her foot.
We don't have those kind of attitude in France, actually problems are more like smoking area aren't respected (but not only the youngest...). Concerning the young, it's more frequently a noise problem ^^ Particulary in train, speaking so loud in their cell phone, MP3 player I can hear clearly from the other side of the wagon. Most of passengers won't say anything, some ask them to lower the volume. Reaction is most of the time they won't excuse but they lower the sound, and a minority will start a dispute...
