Misato Katsuragi

Due out next March is this 1/6 scale figure of Misato from Evangelion.

Misato retails for 7,140 yen and is being brought to us by Kotobukiya who also supplied the high res images - one of which you will find in the wallpaper pool.

Am I the only one that never got into Evangelion? I suppose I should go back and give it a whirl but the episodes I saw looked gory.

I've always seen figures of Rei and Asuka, rarely any of Misato... This figure looks great... Hey Danny, I've only watched a few episodes of Evangelion but I read the manga and it's quite good but very confusing... One question, how big is a 1/6 scale figure? And compared to a 1/8, which is bigger? LOL, sorry for these noob questions, kinda new and still learning the ways of the otaku...

Wow, finally a figure of Misato. There sure are plenty of Rei and Asuka. It's nice to see that the other hottie in the series is getting some much needed love.

Yeah, finally a (good) figure of Misato. Many Rei's and Asuka's, but hardly any Misato, which was one of my favorite characters from the series.
Although I would rather have a Misato figure that smiles, but I like this one :)

sorry for the double post

@lostandfound
1/6 is bigger than 1/8, simple fractions. the actual height is dependent on the figure itself.

@danny
are you kidding me? you haven't seen the entire EVA? were you in a cave for the last 10 years or what? go watch rebuild of evangelion right NOW! and then watch end of evangelion, and death and rebirth. evangelion is in my top 10 best animes of all time list, and i would recommend it to everyone. once you get past the mecha and gore, its got a great story, and really gets you to think! its like the matrix, you might not understand it the first time you watch it. the only bad part of evangelion is the main protagonist and his whiny emo attitude, but i'm willing to let that slide. bottomline, go watch it now!

Never watched Evangelion, hence I have no idea who this figure is. Everyone else seems to like her though for her character in the anime, otherwise she just looks like an average figure to me.

Like everyone else has already said, it's about damn time we got a high quality figure of the lovely Misato Katsuragi. Am I the only one here that things that Sumeragi from Gundam 00 is sorta modeled after Misato? They both love the booze, they're both smoking hot, and they're both pretty good strategists.

the end of evangelion just some kind of B-pron movie to me though.

series was great, dun really understand the ending though.

i read the manga, i prefer manga story, somehow it was more.... interesting then the anime.

@danny
can i ask some help? how far is evangelion manga in japan now?

@CyberSynaptic

you might have a point there. however, the difference between the two is that sumeragi's got twice the boobage. have you seen the newer episodes of gundam 00? it seems that boob size is an indicator of rank in gundam. well, not that i'm complaining

To answer your question about Evangelion, I'd say you aren't missing much. I think it's a highly overrated series, myself. That being said, you probably ought to watch it for yourself and judge. You may like it.

Definitely on my buy list!

I love Evangelion because the characters are just great, all the main-characters are mentally disordered in a way and if you went through a lot of shit in your life or had a few bigger problems, you'll find parts of yourself in them. At least that's what happened to me when I watched EVA and I found it amazing.

This figure is one of the better ones out there for Misato. If I did not have to save up money to pay for school I would definitely get one.

As for the show, Evangelion was very good. The presentation of the characters may not be in the likes of "conventional" anime characters, as they all suffer from serious mental diseases. One of the reasons why I like the show a lot. I can't wait for the DVD releases of Rebuild.

I was a fan of Evangelion, until I see the end, and the movies... At this very moment, I realize I was cheated for a criminal mind maned Hideaki Anno...

YAY! A Misato figure!

I was getting sick of the torrent of Asuka and Rei figures too. Misato is a great character.
Im a little dissapointed she has a gun - its not very indicative of her character. Still, a 'more than likely' buy from me as shes a great character and the likeness of her is spot on.

I have to agree, some of the previous Misato figure sometimes didn't actually look like Misato... I find the face of a figure very important, and if it doesn't look like the character I think the whole figure is kinda flawed.

In the 2000s? Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu maybe ;D Haruhi is becoming a merchandising machine just like gundam and eva ^^; (well maybe not that much, but there's still a lot)

Evangalion was a hit and miss anime, either you like it or you don't. I personally liked it though it did have those moments when I rather watch something else. The figure is nice, though it depicts the more serious Katsuragi, in my opinion. I like the much happier and peppier Katsuragi.

I bought the complete series on DVD at the crazy extortionate UK price of anime, never before have I spent £90+ for 26 episodes of anime.

Anyway the overall TV show isn't where I found the brilliance to lie, you have to watch the episodes to understand the ending movie but that movie is unspeakably good.

It's quite an amazing experience and I'd love to know what you make of the The End of Evangelion.

It's a nice model but not something I'd buy, I think I've spent enough on NGE as it is.

Up to a point I am a small fan. I still remember some of the disturbing things that went through the character's minds. I remember reading somewhere that the guy that wrote was going through a mental depression or something while writing. So the Anime ended up depicting his mentality as some points. Other than that, the anime has perfect representations of the hair color's. Asuka with red = hot tempered, Rei with blue hair = cool tempered, not easily amused, and Shinji...what do I say about him, he's the perfect whiny idiot getting himself into the worst possible predicaments in life.

Shinji failed at life. You have to finish the anime to understand guys.

I never really liked Evangelion after I saw it. The ending(s) (both of them) were pretty terrible, and the fans of Eva always seem to represent the worst of the worst fanboys. With that said, when I saw the trailer for the new Evangelion film at the cinema I was pretty much impressed by what I saw and I liked the Utuda Hikaru cover of fly me to the moon.

Perhaps you should check out the new movie as it covers the first half of the series (so I am told) so it might be a good way to get into the series without commiting bundles of time and energy.

I LIKE Evangelion, but all the same, I think it's the most overrated show ever. A few notches above FF7 (which was actually very entertaining) and even a notch above Seinfeld.

It's good, but the hype and the rave it gets is just ridiculous or even outright ravenous to the point I can't help but disagree.

No I am not a fan of Evangelion due to the fact that 1) I was recommended not to watch it and 2) it posed strong questions that were opposite in meaning and purpose to my religion.

I do like the mecha designs though; and I am aware that two Iowa class battleships they used were the two that were never finished.

It's considered a classic but I am not a fan of it. I hate to mention the two in the same comment but I enjoyed Rahxephon much more than what I saw of Evangelion.

I found the other two comments pretty much made the point:
"Evangalion was a hit and miss anime"
"Eva is one of the legends in the 1990s"

I still couldn't believe you've (Danny) never seen it. EVA is the only anime I love without a character I like (no offense). I feel part of its amazing thing is the "演出". That's the first time I realized the role (an importance) of a director (yep, I'm stupid). It could've turned into a so so anime if it weren't Hideaki Anno. But its magic is more than that which I can hardly explain.

By the way, I guess EVA might be one of the animes that have the most goods, figure, tel card, apparel, zippo, whatever you can think of. I mean, unlike gundam, pokemon, etc, it's only 26 episodes + movie.

  I will be buying this when i see it for a reasonable price somewhere.And the revoltech Rei also!!
