I've never followed Cutey Honey - the only thing I knew about her is that she has red hair, big eyes, has a naughty transformation scene and beats up bad guys - the drama pretty much goes along those lines.
If you are used to fan service in anime then Cutey Honey doesn't fail to please as idol Mikie Hara (原幹恵) has a nice pair of eyes which she uses to hit bad guys with ^^;
I enjoyed the first EP and will keep it on my watch list - it just started to air so you should be able to pick it up if you are interested. OP below.

I'm not a fan of live action shows, and I think the amount of fanservice in this one was fairly excessive. Also, is disappointgly based on the late Go Nagai's Honey, i.e. a much more lighthearted character.

Although seeing Honey as an extremely lighthearted and bubbly character was a bit strange for me, I think Mikie Hara is really cute and does the role well. This first episode was really funny, so I'll be watching the rest.

It looks good, but for some reason, I doubt it will be showing on the BS network in Shikoku, will check the newspapers though. I was actually thinking of reading the manga of Cutey Honey as it is by genious manga Ka Gou Nagai, the same man who created Mazinger Z!! If I see it in the book shop some time Ill pick it up.
