Trying to make things you hate worse, but it just got better. A real genius, without even knowing...
I would want to buy sera fuku, but the problem is, I have no one to try it on...
o_O ---> ^.^ ---> x_x ---> lol
Its our fault! The sailor suit was adopted by schools in the 60s (i think!) after some british prince (i forget the name) was wearing it on a visit to japan. He must have made a big impression! As for the extremely short skirts being integrated, well - i guess theres a bit of 'sexist pig' in that, but im not complaining! When i first saw a group of bona fide 'just like on TV' sailor suited girlies on the train on my first trip to Tokyo, i felt wierd - like it wasnt real! I also felt slightly 'wahey!', but in a guilty way. ;>_
The designer's a genius! Just pop them onto a couple of cute girls and they will love absolutely lovely ^^;
I don't have a major Sailor Fuku fetish, but I do think they look nice on some girls. There aren't many schools that have uniforms in the U.S, about the only time you'll see uniforms being worn is at a private school and very few public schools. Even then it's mostly the Catholic school girls that come even remotely close to a Sailor Fuku.
>> The sailor suit was adopted by schools in the 60s No, it was adopted far earlier, during the Taisho era, which is why Taiwan and South Korea also have a legacy of gakuran and sera-fuku uniforms.
i love it. the shorter the better!^^
they wanted to make modern uniforms in the post war, and the Japanese ones where old, so they used the american sailor uniforms because they look more modern? also thanks for that sexist pig, because we all know that girls also loves to use school uniforms
The Sailor Fuku is really popular... By schools, not people. It only in Japan that they have short skirt. I think it might not be the designer's fault. It the wearer's fault. They want to be rebellious, like any young people, so they just shorten their skirts. In Hong Kong the Sailor design is getting more popular. It is a boys and girls uniform. Obviously the boys wear shorts. And the girls skirt isn't that short any way.
There's no point to just buy a sailor fuku. You still need the main ingredient, school girls!
The shorter the skirt, the easier the access!
Without a doubt in my mind A genius sexist pig! :)
The man is a genious! I'd definatly give one to my girlfriend as a present. That is, if I had one, lol.
He's a genius, and a sexist at the same time. Well, you have the sailor fuku, but without school girls wearing them... whats the point in buying them? Unless guys can wear them (To be honest, even the slightest thought of guys wearing girl's sailor fuku makes me sick ~_~!) to cosplay conventions.
Choose between them? Tough choice there, most likely a sexist who hoped it would catch on, which it did and now we think he's a genius
This guy's obviously a freak. But at least he's using his powers for the good of mankind ;-)
A sexy genius?
The guy's a genius lol, sailor fuku's are very sexy.
As I understand it the sailor fuku was introduced in 1921, modelled after the uniform of the British Royal Navy, and it was designed by a woman.
Does being 'sexist' really matter? It's designed for girls so of course it is sexist to an extent. You wouldn't design a skirt for boys now would you? Also, all my parents and grandparents wore the uniforms with no problems.
Well, I reckon it's not a sexist thing...but hey, that just me ^^.
look nice and pretty to me! And i think most Malaysian will have such impression since all the School Uniform here looks so ugly here!!!!
sexist pig? mochiron chigau....ano hito wa tensai da!!!!!!
Alafista OTAKU, For those who want to use the uniform instead of tenga? AndyH, LOL.
Hey Danny, do you have any info about the origin of sailor fuku? A quick curiosity on google lead me onto this http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolpda/ifs_news/hi/newsid_4755000/4755367.stm?(none But there's not much I can read there other than: "Girls, on the other hand, wear a dress called the sailor fuku, based on European naval uniforms. But as Christopher Hood, director of Cardiff University's Japanese Studies Centre, points out, the designs have nothing to do with Japan's own military past. Rather, they date from the establishment of the formal education system in the 1870s, when Japan looked to Germany, France and Britain for ideas." Yes, I love sailor fuku :3
I repeat my earlier message that the sailor uniform as it's generally known today was introduced in 1921, based on Royal Navy uniforms and designed by a woman (name unknown at present)!
Okay, as usual it's Wikipe-tan to the rescue; "The sailor outfit (セーラー服, sērā-fuku?) is a common style of uniform worn by female middle school and high school students, and occasionally, elementary school students. It was introduced as a school uniform in 1921 by the principal of Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University (福岡女学院, Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University?), Elizabeth Lee. It was modelled after the uniform used by the British Royal Navy at the time, which Lee had experienced as an exchange student in the United Kingdom." Good old Wikipe-tan XD

as a Pop Culture (japan is that). well... if it had the intention that is had until today... well then yes.. however.. is a sexyes genius
I remember seeing in a post somewhere that you can also buy a sailor fuku printed shirt if you are too shy to buy too.
I just see this kind of clothes on Otakus events in my country... well, if I remember well, the uniform that everyone used are an horrible set of brown pants, and white t-shirt, sooo, this inventor is a genius =)
So basically, from what jung man reported, the sailor fuku was created by a woman... Ha ha ha!! So it's not males that are to blame... for once. Nice. People would then said she should have thought of those issues in the first place... However, mentalities were much different (so much more in the strict side) than now. I'm not a sailor fuku fetishist, so I don't think I am concerned.
For the record, the catholic school girl look is WAY sexier(ist), with tight sweater, short skirt and knee socks all wraped into one neat package! ;)
that SAILOR FUKU looks really nice!! O.O
PURE GENIUS!!! ^^ It's the root for my school girl fetish. LOL
You need to put an option for both. He probably was a sexist, but hell, with a uniform like that I'm not going to complain.
there's a fine line between a fool and a genius and the sailor fuku designer is definitely a genius ^^ btw, didn't i mentioned that sailor fuku is an otaku's fetish item and my bfetish as well XDDD
This should fuel the controversy... http://mdn.mainichi.jp/national/news/20071008p2a00m0na004000c.html or go to Mainichi News english page and look for the current article on sailor unifom evolution. It must be said that the photos of sailor uniforms taken in 1921 aren't greatly different from the actual, non anime/game, real uniforms worn today.
Yes, sexyst pig. AWAY with Sailor Fukus, ON with the BLOOMERS! *ahem*

I am wearing so Sailor Fuku right now, and it looks ok on me (I am a guy) considering the only preperation I did was shave (my face!) Coarse, my being 6'5" and having very muscular legs (I am a runner) gives me away...
Genius! Don't forget bloomers though XP

alright , now think about this , while A. yes a guy made it and guys love to see girls in it , but on the other side of this .. do you know how many girls in japan like to wear there school uniforms outside of school and on the weekends , cause its popular, they want to show their youthfulness and they just want attention.. so both parties are at fault .
Approve! We need these kind of uniforms here!
Come to think of it. I never knew why Japanese high school uniforms were like that. Not that I'm complaining or anything. =D
