Maid Taxi

How far can the maid business be stretched? We have the cafes, footcare, sleep "next" to a maid and now we have maid taxi services.

Meido Taxi is basically a service where you hire a maid bundled with a taxi for 5,700 yen per hour - or you can just pay 250 yen for every kilometer.

They say that their service is set up to help disabled or persons who have other difficulties getting around town which sounds very odd to me - wonder how much need there is from these persons needing a maid taxi service. News via Ellcy90.

BTW, I just landed in LA to speak at the Imprint Conference. Most of the updates while I'm here will be in the news section - RSS fiends (like me) may want the feed which is here.
Will be slow getting through mail and comments.
First time here?
If you are new here, you may want to keep up with more of the same via RSS or Danny's other networks. (dont show again)

This one actiually almost makes sense. Do they provide male versions for the ladies? I like how her shoes match the chair (not very practical footwear though for helping a handicapped peron).

Fair enough. It depends on the service though. But hey, I still would use the taxi service anyway ^^.

Not sure anymore
I think the "sleeping"-with-a-maid sector of the maid business would rake in money. IMHO (",)

Hey Danny Choo, this is off topic but I got an idea from all the troubles we had with digg, the problem with them is that the people that vote there dont know about anime, japan or otaku, so our diggs always tend to dissapear in an instant, but why you dont offer an Otaku, anime, japan Digg in your site, that would help to us all and of course you too :D

hope you like the idea

Hmm, you forgot the Ear-Cleaning by Maid service there.

I see that the prices for this service are not that outrageous compared to the other ones I've seen so far... but their motive to help people with disabilities or the elderly also left me with a dumbfounded look on my face.

By the way, I would need to see their driving licenses and I still wonder if sitting near to them (without bothering them, of course!) is possible.

As long as Maid Taxi don't go for Initial D or Taxi (the movies), I guess it's okay!

A taxi company specialized in helping with the disabled is nice, but I don't know if you need a girl dressed as a maid to do that...seems like extra service for otaku's.

It's only a matter of time before the idea of mercenary maids and assassin maids be used next. that'll probably go at a six to seven figure fee.

They plan to take over the world I tell you!!!
Seriously tho, How do they find so many girls willing to go through all this stuff? Maybe a ridiculous proportion of Japanese girls just have a dream of wearing a maid outfit...

It reminds me of a scene in the first episode of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, back in the 80s (you guys remember the 80s, right?)

They're out looking for some place called "Ninja Pizza" when they come upon:
Raph: Ninja Drycleaning?
Leo: Ninja Shoe Repair??
April: Ninja Video rental?
Don: Ninja Dentist, ouch!!
Mike: I can't put my finger on it, but there's something suspicious about this neighborhood.

Japan comes up with a variety of ideas (mostly becoming weird by the second) and still in a way, convenient for most people.
