I want to start rewarding readers as a way of saying a big thanks for your support.
First off however, I especially want to reward the members of Figure.fm with the Shuraki box sets 1,2 and 3. More details after the jump.

Figure.fm was not built to scale the in the way I thought it should and as a consequence, the site is buckling under only 5000 unique users per day. But despite the bugs and terrible loading times (its a cache problem), the figure.fm community has remained strong. I am truly grateful. As a token of appreciation, the first and second giveaway will be open exclusively to figure.fm members for putting up with the continued pain of posting an image or comment. Put up with me for a wee bit longer as I'm working on the new version now.

The first giveaway will be the Shuraki sets in a figure themed competition. The second giveaway will be a Gundam giveaway in a Gundam themed competition. The third competition thereafter will be open to registered members of dannychoo.com.

200708 giveaway details
This month I am working with Kid Nemo to bring you these box sets.
The theme of this giveaway is "Huge figure in City (with humor)". My "Konomi over Akiba" is not funny at all so probably wont get any votes.
The figures in your entry has to be of figures you own. Folks who don't have Photoshop can use the open source GIMP or something similar. Remember that its not your compositing skills that are important - your imagination in making people laugh comes first.
Rules
  • Closing date for entries is August 27th so you have plenty of time.
  • Send your entry to [giveaway at dannychoo dot com] together with your figure.fm login name. Remember that the first competition is open to figure.fm members only.
  • The main figure in the photo has to be of one that you own.
  • After the 27th, I will post all entries without names. Members at dannychoo.com will then vote for the one they like most through a new voting system that I am building - one member one vote. Details on who voted for who are not disclosed.
  • After all votes are in, I will publish all the named entries and make sure that your work/site gets a plug.
  • The person who gets the most votes chooses which box set they want. The second place entry also gets to choose. Third place gets the remainder - all box sets are fabulous though. There is only one of each box set this time round.
  • Figure.fm members who only own Gundams need not fear as the next giveaway is going to be a [name of cool item goes here].
  • When the box sets are released, Kid Nemo will send the goods directly to you.
  • This is open to figure.fm members who have suffered up until now so registrations are currently closed. Lurker members do not qualify.
  • May the farce be with you and am looking forward to some humorous work!
This Shuraki giveaway is being made possible by the good folks at Kid Nemo. Here are a few words from them.

hmm...

Well, my paint jobs on my resin kits look rather crappy so I don't think they would stand much of a chance...

Should I grin and bear it, or save myself the shame?

Wow! I knew this was a good forum to join. Anyways so this was your prize thingy you hinted in your post at figure.fm, Dam I have no figures. My budget goes into gundams. Guess I'll have to wait for gundam giveaway, even though I probably dont have a shred hope in wining. But I have something up my sleeve planned so dont count me out just yet Heh.. ;)

(PS; I know its late but thank you for making me a moderator on figure.fm ^^)

Question!!

If we decide to participate, are there any restrictions on the real life photo?

Or can we use anything so long as we get permission from the owner. Like say, Your own site Danny?

GundamJehutyKai,
You can use any photos from my site - just as long as the main figure in the photo belongs to you.
If you use somebody's work, make sure you get permission from them.

Also, for the gundam giveaway, it does not matter about your gundam skills - your skills of making em laugh is whats important.

JuN,
Only one entry per figure.fm member (non lurker member ^^)

Subaruhess,
NP

Gibson,
Figure.fm members - by all means enter for fun.

I might give it a try, assuming I find the time to actually get to use Photoshop. Plus the prizes sound very tempting.

Few questions that may interest participants ^^

What is the minimum resolution of the picture to send?
Is some text added to the picture is allowed?
Or is it allowed to give a title (file name for instance) to the picture?
