I have experimented in the past with my Flickr page and have always seen an increase in visitors. Just need to get my Flickr account back in order. ^^; Always great to ready your post on Japan, you have the experience of living there which I don't yet. Congrats Danny, but I don't think the "visits" count as "unique visitors." If you have or use Awstats, it will list "unique visitors" separate from "number of visits."
Scratch that, got confused with Awstats coloring system with Webalizer's. >.
